7. Quiet

    >>Brooke's P.O.V.<<

"Let's go." you hear a familiar voice say.

"What the fuck, Casey!?" you say almost jumping,"You scared the shit out of-"  Casey covers your mouth and says,"Shh. . .!  Do you want dad to hear us?"

Casey turns the side lamp on by your bed.  You see him to the right of your bed fully dressed with a bag over his shoulder.  "Where are you going?" you ask confused.

"We.  Get dressed and pack a bag for a few days."

"Where are we going, Casey?" you ask again,"Why am I packing?"

"We are going on a road-trip!" he says going to your closet and grabbed a backpack,"Now.  Pack."  He is whispering and helping you pack.  "Where are we going?" you whisper as you get dressed.  "Just a road-trip!  Just me and you!  Is that not okay with you?" he says packing your swimsuit.

"No, it's fine with me!  That's actually great.  Why did you just pack my swimsuit?  We don't even live anywhere close to a beach, lake, or even pool.  We live in New Mexico.  In the middle of a desert.  I don't need that." you saying trying to put it back. "Who said we were staying in New Mexico?" he says smiling grabbing it out of your hand.

"We are leaving the state?" you ask shocked,"But dad will hear us!"

"Not if we are quiet, so sh!!"

"Sorry, sorry!" you say as you grab Casey's phone and headphones from under your pillow.  You throw your backpack over your shoulder and throw your Vans on.  You and Casey sneak out the door and walk to his truck parked in the driveway.  When you open the door, it is warm.  He had started the car up before you came out.  It was kind of cold out for late March, but you don't really care.  When the heat hits your face, you shiver.  You throw your  backpack in the back and put your seat-belt on.

"You ready, sis?  No parents, no annoying cheerleader at school, no distractions for a week?" he says moving the shift stick from park to reverse.
