1. Farewell my Soldier

I remember when you called my name,

You used to be so pleased to see me,

I didn't think things would change,

I still don't know who's to blame,

I remember how you used to smile,

Every time I told you how much I cared.

When I heard about what you were to do,

I didn't know how to react,

I was so scared,

I remember how you used to tell me,

I was the only girl for you,

How you would miss me so much,

When you were out fighting,

Fighting for your life

I remember when you asked me to be your wife,

We used to be such a happy couple,

But that was all ended with a knife,

Now all I have left is a beautiful bundle,

A bundle full of joy

  I remember your caring eyes,

Well this bundle of ours has just the same ones,

If only you could have been here,

To see your new born baby boy.

I remember when I said "Farewell my soldier",

I could see it in your eyes,

I could see the anxiety and pain,

How you knew you might not make it back,

When you blew me a kiss goodbye from the train

I remember how you were so caring,

How you used to protect me,

You worried about how I would cope,

How I would cope without my soldier

  Little did you know,

How I was carrying a baby,

If only you could have seen,

Those eyes that remind me of you

I remember when you blew me that kiss,

I remember when you asked me to be your wife,

I remember how that all ended with a knife,

I remember how it all started,

I remember how it all ended with a knife,

A knife in a battle far away from home
