Road Trip (15+)

I don't know where I'm going, and sure as heck don't care. I just need to get out of this town. Get away from the constant drama. I need to live my life. I have to get away before this town devours me. Now, step aside, as I got on a heck of a road trip.

3. New Start

I drove down the humid Louisiana road. I gripped tightly on the wheel and kept looking in the rear view mirror. I don’t know why I was so paranoid. I just didn’t want to get caught.

I turned onto the expressway entrance and kept driving. I clenched my jaw while nervously tapped my thumbs on the steering wheel. The expressway wasn’t that busy at 3 AM. Well, why would it be? I hummed ‘Monster’ by Lady Gaga as I flew down the expressway.

I am so happy that I am leaving. I can finally let go. I don’t have to flinch every time I go around the corner anymore. I don’t have to look both ways before I go down the school hallway. It’s just going to be me, my beat up truck, and the open road. I smiled thinking about not having to worry about no one.

I don’t have to worry about my parents. I don’t have to worry about Collin hurting me. I don’t have to worry about Devin beating me up. I can actually live MY life now.

What am I going to do though? Where am I going to live? What happens if I run out of money?

I finally reached the Texas border. It was 5 AM, but I didn’t care. I looked down and saw that I was almost out of gas. I made a phhhhhfft noise and pulled into the nearest gas station. I jumped out of my car and shoved my hands into my hoodie. I grabbed my credit card and put it in the card slot. I tapped my foot as I waited for the gas tank to fill up. I guy with a pack of cigarettes looked at me up and down, and smiled. He started limping over to me. I desperately wanted the tank to fill up.

“What’s a lovely lady like you doing here so early?” The old man smiled. He was the definition of creepy.

“None of your business.” I said holding my head up high. He smiled a toothless smile.

“So, your alone, I presume?” He said, raising an eyebrow. An attractive brown haired man guy walked out of the gas station. He had a mop of brown curls on his head, and greenish looking eyes. He stopped and looked at me.

“Leave me alone.” I demanded. The man smiled and cocked his head to the side.

“So you are here alone?” He smiled. I began to panic.

“Leave my girlfriend alone.” The brown haired guy said walking over to me. I gave him a look of sympathy. He waved his hand. The creepy guy turned around and looked at him wide-eyed. “Come on babe, you ready?” He asked, kissing me on the cheek, which made me blush.

“Whatever.” The old man grumbled and walked over to his old car and speed away.

“Thank you.” I stuttered, looking at the attractive stranger. I swore then and there, I fell in love.

“Whats your name?” He asked, still smiling.

“Alison.” I mumbled.
