Road Trip (15+)

I don't know where I'm going, and sure as heck don't care. I just need to get out of this town. Get away from the constant drama. I need to live my life. I have to get away before this town devours me. Now, step aside, as I got on a heck of a road trip.

1. Have To Leave

“Alison!” A voice boomed through my room. I turned over slowly and looked at the clock. 5:00 AM. Great. I hated this town, I had to get away. I hated my family. Its constant drama. Some days my mom and dad are on good terms, other days my mom would bring home her man toy of the day. And each and every day, I somehow made it. When I was a little girl, I wished I was a princess in a faraway land, living with a prince in a big castle. My prince would always tell me he loved me, and kiss me on the cheek after we tucked our princesses in bed. As I grew up, reality set in. I would never have a prince or a castle, I would be stuck in this small town forever.

“Yes mom?” I mumbled covering my head beneath my soft blanked. I tossed onto my side and closed my eyes. I heard someone stomp in behind her. I sighed and realized that this was one of my parents’ fights that were never ending.

“Alison, your father won’t pay the bills. I do so much every day! I cook, and clean, and he can’t just quickly pay the bills!” My mother exclaimed. You forgot to say ‘play with my man toy’ I thought to myself.

“Well, some of us actually have JOBS!” My father yelled. If looks could kill, my father would have blown up into pieces within seconds. My mother scoffed and put her hands on her hips.

“Do you stay home ALL DAY every day, taking care of YOUR daughter? Helping HER?” My mom exclaimed. Since when has she ever taken care of me?! I go to school, then work my shift at McDonalds, and I am home five minutes before my dad. I took the first job I could get. I want to get out of here so bad.

“Pshh!” My father threw his hands up in the air. “I completely doubt that!” I had enough. I jumped out of my bed and grabbed my clothes. I ran into the bathroom and changed quickly. I brushed my teeth, put my hair up in a ponytail, and quickly put on my makeup. I grabbed my school bag, and looked into my room. Sure enough, my parents were still yelling at each other. I rolled my eyes and bit into an apple. By the time I was ready, it was 6 AM, which is the time I normally go to school.

“BYE!” I yelled at the top of my lungs. I swung the door shut and slowly walked to my car. My converse made a squishing sound as I stepped into the mud. It’s  always foggy in my small town called Lisbon in Louisiana. I started my old red truck, and drove down the road. I turned on my iPhone, and blared the song ‘Here’s to Never Growing Up’ by Avril Lavigne. I drove down the muddy roads, and finally made it to my school. I threw my phone into my backpack, and jumped out of my truck. I sluggishly walked into the school. I ran my hands through my hair as I walked down the endless hallway. I finally got to my locker and tossed my bag into there. I grabbed my English book and walked to my English class.

“Well look who showed up?” The idiot jock said smartly.

“Look who decided to get his head out of his butt?” I replied back, clenching my textbook. He clenched his jaw and his friends crowed around him. They crossed their arms, trying their best to look tough. I tried my hardest to hold back a laugh.

“You don’t talk to me like that Evans.” He said looking serious. I raised an eyebrow.

“Why not?” I taunted him.

“Or else I will crush your skull and-“

“Ohhh, I am so scared! I better get back to my little loser friends and pretend to act scared!” I teased. He cocked his head to the side.

“I suggest you run Evans.” He growled.

“Why should I Devin?” I asked, tilting my head to the side.

“That’s it! You’re done!” Devin yelled and ran up to me. He grabbed my waist and smacked me across the face. I screamed as loud as I could while kicking my legs violently. A teacher came and pulled us apart.

“What the heck is wrong with you Davis!?” He yelled at Devin, then turned to me. “Alison, go. We will decide on your punishment later.” He said, pointing down the hallway. I stormed off and grabbed my stuff from my locker. Instead of going to my English class, I ran to the front doors. I clenched on my stuff and jumped into my car. I have to get away. And I will, tonight.
