37. Chapter 36

"Babe," Harry called Jesy but she refused to answer. "Babe? Answer me."

Jesy made her eyes dart over to him but then she glanced away. Harry got up, walking toward her and sat down beside her.

"I know you are mad but come on," Harry grabbed her hands. "You can't stay mad at her forever."

"Why not? That was pretty fucked up and you know it!" Jesy started crying and she knew it was all the hormones from being pregnant. "I really do not even care that she got engaged to Zayn. They are the cutest couple in the world," Jesy stopped and laid her head on Harry's shoulder.

"So what is the problem babe?" Harry asked confused yet concerned.

"I guess maybe I am just a little jealous of their fantastic relationship," Jesy mumbled as she got off of the couch and walked over to the window.

"What do you mean?"

"Don't lie to me Harry. And don't act like you did not already know this."

"Know what?" Harry was becoming more concerned that confused at this point.

"You are only with me because of this baby," Jesy rubbed her stomach, she was showing and the rumors at school were flying. "If this baby had not of happened then nobody would have found it okay to be together.

"Yeah sure Niall and Jade would have got together more and more behind our backs until we approved. Also, Demi and Louis would have continued their secret relationship. Perrie would have caved and started flirting more with Zayn until he gave in and asked her out.

"We never would have stayed together. We really are not a good couple Harry," she turned around to face him. Harry stared blankly at her worried about what was going to happen. "I think we should place the baby up for adoption. I contacted a woman about adoption this morning before you came over."

"Jesy," Harry slowly stood up.

"No Harry," she looked down. "It is the best thing for him or her. We are kids and if we want to make it in the music industry with our friends then we have do what is right."

"Jesy is all this because of Perrie and Zayn?"

"It has something to do with it but Harry we have to admit it to ourselves. We are not right for each other. Hell you can't even stop looking at other girls at school."

Harry looked down at his boots unsure of what he could say to lessen the tension going on between the pair of them.

“See! You think I don’t notice but guess what I do. Prom is next week and I don’t even get to go because of this baby. But everyone knows that Kendell Jenner asked you to go with her to prom so wouldn’t have to be alone. So just go Harry. After I meet with the woman from the adoption agency I will bring you the paperwork.”

Harry started walking over to Jesy, he needed to tell her that he didn’t care about the other girls. She and the baby were the only things that truly mattered right now.

“Just leave Harry,” she mumbled before he could say anything. “Please.”

Jesy was about to cry so she walked away from Harry and into her washroom. Harry followed her determined to tell her everything but she closed the door in his face.

“Jesy,” he started. “I know you can hear me. I know you probably won’t believe anything I am about to say but I am still going to say it.”

He waited a moment to see if she would respond before he started his speech.

“Jesy, maybe our relationship was a little forced. And yeah it was rushed but guess what Jesy? I don’t care about anything except for you and the baby. I will not be able to live with myself if I know someone else is taking care of our baby. We can do this Jesy. The lads and girls will understand we may not make it big in the music industry because of our baby but if they need to have that for happiness then they can leave. I will stay here with you and raise our baby. I never intend on leaving you Jesy Nelson. Never.”

Jesy slowly opened up the door.

“Really?” Jesy asked as the tears rolled down her cheeks.

Harry reached in and slowly wiped away her tears. “Really,” he pulled her in for a hug and kissed her slowly.

**

“Perrie,” Jesy said taking her hand. “We are like sisters. There is really no excuse for my behavior from earlier and I want to apologize-“

“No Jesy,” Perrie looked like she was about to cry. “You had every right to yell at me. I am so sorry and do not worry. Zayn and I are waiting until we get out of school before we actually get married.”

“Perrie, you two are the cutest couple in the world do not wait if you do not want to. I wasn’t even really mad about you and Zayn. I was jealous,” Jesy confessed.

“Why were you jealous?”

Jesy repeated a similar version of the story she had told Harry earlier that morning. The two girls then laughed and hugged before the rest of the girls showed up for rehearsal.

Leigh Anne, Demi, and Jade walked in cautious, not realizing that everyone had made up already.

“Will we need to separate you two any time during the next few hours?” Demi joked.

“No,” Jesy and Perrie smiled.

“We are fine now,” Jesy smiled.

The girls gathered around the piano in Perrie’s house. It felt like ages since all the girls had been there working on music together.

Perrie slowly started playing a little something on the piano, it was nothing fancy, just a simple melody for a ballad.

“I keep hearing that in my head,” Perrie began, “and I cannot write any words for it.”

She played it again so the girls could think over it. They each had notebooks in their hands to write anything that came to mind. A long process that was how they usually wrote their songs.

“I’m glad it a soft song,” Jesy started. “I couldn’t really be jumping around and dancing with this.”

The rest of the girls started laughing.

“Well it has been awhile since we did a soft song,” Demi pointed out.

Perrie ended up playing the beat another twenty-three times while the rest of the girls wrote lyrics to it. Pages upon pages had been ripped out and many words had been crossed out but everyone felt like they were ready to share their lyrics with the rest.

Jade asked to start the song off but without any of the piano in the background and at first the girls thought she was crazy until they heard her verse acapella.

There’s still a little bit of your taste in my mouth

There’s still a little bit of you laced with my doubt

It’s still a little hard to say what’s going on

“That was amazing!” the girls screamed.

“Thanks,” she smiled. “I also wrote this but I think Perrie should take this verse,” she showed everyone by circling it in blue. “And then Demi should take this verse,” she circled Demi’s verse in red.

“Let’s try this,” Perrie smiled as Jade sang her verse once again.

Perrie started singing her verse:

There’s still a little bit of your ghost you witness

There’s still a little bit of your face I haven’t kissed

You step a little closer each day that I can’t say what’s going on

And then Demi jumped in with her verse:

Stones taught me to fly

Love taught me to lie

Life taught me to die

So it’s not hard to fall

When you feel like a cannonball

“Wow this is going to be an amazing song,” Leigh Anne smiled.

“Well I wrote this,” Jesy showed the girls her notebook. “I think this,” she pointed to a specific set of words, “should be for Leigh Anne. Try it?”

Leigh Anne cleared her throat and began to sing:

There’s still a little bit of your song in my ear

There’s still a little bit of your verse I long to hear

“This is insanely good,” Demi smiled. “But here,” she laid her notebook down. “This is Jesy’s verse no doubt.”

Jesy sang the part that Demi had written:

You step a little closer to me

So close I can’t see what’s going on

Whoa

“Now we should just sing Demi’s part as the chorus together,” Jesy suggested.

“Good idea!” Jade squeaked.

“But we should change the last line to ‘When you know that you just don’t know’, to add a bit of variety,” Demi looked at the other faces in the room.

“Then go back to and sing the original verse,” Leigh Anne jumped in. “But like have Jade sing the first two lines, then Perrie go all crazy vocals with ‘So come on courage/Teach me to be shy’ and finally we all round out the rest of the verse.”

“And repeat it again with,” Jade flipped through a few pages and pointed to a verse. “Sound good?”

“You are a genius Jade!” Demi grabbed her and pulled her in for a hug.

“Then end it with everyone singing ‘It’s not hard to fall/And I don’t wanna loose/It’s not hard to fall’. Then to really nail the ending have Perrie sing the final verse, ‘When you feel like a cannonball’,” Leigh Anne smiled as Jade wrote everything down.

“Okay so let’s run through it girls!” Perrie squealed from excitement.

Jade (Acapella):

There’s still a little bit of your taste in my mouth

There’s still a little bit of you laced with my doubt

It’s still a little hard to say what’s going on

Perrie (Music starts):

There’s still a little bit of your ghost you witness
There’s still a little bit of your face I haven’t kissed
You step a little closer each day that I can’t say what’s going on

Demi:

Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to lie
Life taught me to die
So it’s not hard to fall
When you feel like a cannonball

Leigh Anne:

There’s still a little bit of your song in my ear

There’s still a little bit of your verse I long to hear

Jesy:

You step a little closer to me
So close I can’t see what’s going on
Whoa

All:

Stones taught me to fly

Love taught me to lie

So come on courage

Teach me to be shy

Cause it’s not hard to fall

When you know that you just don’t know

Jade:

Stones taught me to fly

Love taught me to lie

Perrie:

So come on courage

Teach me to be shy

All:

Cause it’s not hard to fall

When you feel like a cannonball

Stones taught me to fly

Love taught me to cry

So come on courage

Teach me to be shy

Cause it’s not hard to fall

And I don’t want to scare him

It’s not hard to fall

And I don’t wanna loose

It’s not hard to fall

Perrie:

When you feel like a cannonball

The girls finished up the song with nothing but smiles on their faces. All their hard work was really paying off and they knew they were meant to sing together. Their voices fit perfectly together and they could write something just as amazing as that.

"This song is perfect!" Leigh Anne smiled staring at the sheet music. "Like beyond words. Thanks Jade for the majority of the lyrics."

"Yeah Jade," Perrie smiled. "We never wrote anything this amazing before you."

"Thanks. I never wrote anything this amazing before you all either," she joked.

"Well, go rest your vocals girlies," Jesy looked between the other four faces. "We need a break plus we need to go shopping for you all's dresses!"

"What about you?" Demi asked.

"I don't think I am going," Jesy just looked down at her stomach.

"No you are going! Shopping instead of school tomorrow?" Leigh Anne asked looking for confirmation from the other girls.

"If we wait until Friday then we can try to go to London," Perrie squealed. "You all just have to get your parents permission. My mum has a meeting there on Saturday so we can leave Friday night and spend all day Saturday looking for dresses."

"Sounds great!" everyone but Jade screamed.

"I can try, no promises," she mumbled nervous of how the girls would respond.

"My dad already talked to your mum and dad. They are going to tell you when you get home," Perrie smiled.

"Really! Thank you so much Perrie!" Jade jumped up and gave her a hug.
