4. Chapter 3

"Jade. Jade? Jade? Jade!" she could hear it even though all she really wanted was to finish her nap.

"What?" she finally said opening her eyes.

"We've landed," Liam said with a smile on his face.

Jade stretched her arms over her head and let out a long yawn. "Okay, thanks."

Liam was already standing up and was holding two bags. Jade slowly unbuckled the required lap belt and stood up. Jade was still pretty tired but knew it was mainly because of how early it was. Once again she stretched trying to get the discomfort out of her bones from the odd position she had been sleeping in.

Liam handed her her carry on bag and smiled. "Hope to see you around, maybe we'll even be going to school together."

And with that Liam was walking off the plane. Jade sighed and thought 'One friend made.'

Jade walked off the plane and saw her parents standing near baggage claim. Their was a cart next to them for all their belongings. They began piling up the cart with their bags. The three of them had thirteen bags total and most of it was just what they would need. The other things were family keepsakes, photo albums, and things that her mother refused to part with.

Her father wheeled the cart out of the airport where their was a moving truck waiting for them. It looked like it was about to rain so they quickly got all their belongings inside of the truck.

With a two hour drive from the airport Jade thought they were moving into the middle of nowhere. The ride seemed to take forever and Jade only wanted to lay down in a bed. Even though she knew there would be no bed waiting for her to crawl into once she got to the house she just wanted to be out of the crammed truck.

The truck was a single seat so for the past two hours she had been forced to sit in between her mother and father. Anywhere would be a nice stop right about now.

Her father pulled into a gas station after a few more minutes.

"We're about twenty minutes away. Get out and stretch. We'll be on the road again in about fifteen minutes."

Jade jumped out of the truck and was half tempted to kiss the ground. Instead she decided to go inside the truck stop and get a drink.

"Mum do you want anything?"

Her mother shook her head as she headed inside.

As she opened the door a little ding, ding, ding, went off. It scared Jade a little bit and a girl popped up from behind the counter, only scaring Jade more.

"Oooh! Sorry!" the tall girl with blonde and pink hair squealed. "I didn't mean to scare you!"

"It's okay," Jade said trying to slow her heart rate.

"I'm Perrie! I don't think I know you," she said extending her hand.

"I'm Jade," Jade shook her hand and continued. "I just moved here. Well, in the middle of moving," she pointed to her mother and father talking at the truck.

"Nice! Are you still in school?" Perrie asked her with a huge smile on her face.

"Yes, I'm going to be a senior this year, and you?"

"Senior too! We'll probably have some classes together! This is great!"

Jade smiled happy to have met someone so nice. At first thought Jade imagined Perrie to be a stuck up mean girl but in reality she was really sweet and friendly.

"I hope so!"

"Give me your cell real quick," Perrie said holding out her hand. Jade placed her phone in Perrie's hand and looked confused. "I'm putting in my number, text me in the morning and I'll give you a ride to school!"

"Wait, school has already started?" Jade asked feeling stressed. She hadn't even moved out and she thought that there would be a little time before she would start attending classes again.

"Well, it starts tomorrow."

"Oh," Jade said biting her lip.

"Don't worry, first few days are not that bad. You'll have plenty of time to get settled in," Perrie said as if she was reading Jade's mind.

"Thanks," Jade sighed in relief. "I'll text you in the morning then?"

"Alright! See you then!"

Jade walked back out to the truck. She was pretty proud of herself for making two friends already. Well, one for sure. She knew that Perrie would be going to school with her but wasn't sure if Liam was. Only time would tell.
