Lauren Mett, a 19 year old college student who just wants to live life to the fullest and be happy, is stressed out about finals and her tragic breakup with her boyfriend. As she is driving to college she gets a text from the worst person possible. Frustrated and feeling the tears stream down her face she closes her eyes for a second. The next thing she knows her car is nose to nose with another. Totaled cars, trips to the hospital, and both barely injured, Harry and Lauren both come out alive.
It all feels like a dream, but what happens when they wake up?

15. The Girl Who Broke Him

Harry woke up by sliding off of his bed, and both of his arms being completely numb.  But that was how his whole body felt.  Numb.

He was sat on the ground staring blankly at the wall when the sound of the front door startled him.  He wasn’t really sure why anyone would visit him, I mean no one had been around for what felt like ages.  No one except her.  Even thinking of her made him feel weak.

No one had ever made him feel anything remotely similar to what he felt with… her.  Thinking about her made his heart ache, and made it feel like someone kept piling weight onto his shoulders.  He was weakened by her absence, and it was apparent by his appearance.  His hair was messy, and not in the way that was considered ‘styled’, his eyes were not their usual vibrant greenish-yellow color and were surrounded by large bags.

He remained slumped over at the side of his bed, even though he knew there was someone in his flat.  He didn’t have the energy to see anyone, and figured it would be best if he kept himself hidden by the side of his bed.  Maybe if someone did happen to see him they would take in his appearance and think he was a zombie, get scared, and leave him alone.

It was strange to him.  He wanted to be alone, more than he had ever wanted to be alone in his life, but the silence and the loneliness and the silence were slowly killing him.

The sound of the person in his flat was slowly coming closer to his bedroom door, but they seemed to be hesitant and not really wanting to take the risk of seeing anyone.  The footsteps came closer to the door, until they came to a stop right outside.

There was a light knock on the door, and then a pause.

“Harry?” She paused unsure of what to do, “I know you’re in there.”  He said nothing, thought nothing, and dared not to even breathe since that could show his presence.  A sigh was heard from the opposite side of the door, and then a string of mumbled words of something along the lines of “Really gonna make me come in there?”

The door was slowly pushed open, and he saw a shadow standing in the doorway.  He still wasn’t completely sure whether this was all really happening and she was here, or if his mind was playing a terrible trick on him.

The girl sighed again, but this time it was a sigh of frustration, it was a sigh about the fact that he thought that he was hidden, and that he was tis affected by her absence.

She slowly made her way over to the bed, but stopped.  She had become very unsure of what to do, and how to tell him things without actually saying them.  She wanted to tell him everything, but she knew that she couldn’t.  She took small steps toward him once again, and dragged her hand across the duvet until she reached the corner.  She reached over slightly and made an effort to try to straighten up his messy curls, but she knew it would not happen that easily and gave up.

She again took small steps until she was standing in front of the unresponsive and damaged boy.  She hesitantly sat down in front of him so that there was about a foot between them

“Hi.” She said drawing designs into the carpet, not daring to look up at him.

Out of the corner of her eye she noticed him look over at her just a tiny bit before returning to their spot on the wall before muttering a ‘Hi’ back to her, the girl who broke him.
