Listening To The Silent Lyrics

What happens when your ordinary life turns into a drama? What happens when your dreams become true and you meet the love of your life? Well this is it for 16 year-old Lucy Mai. But this is no fairy tale. This is real life.

9. Third Person's POV

Third person point of view (Please excuse the swearing xP)

Lucy strummed away at the guitar Ed gave her, not noticing the five boys standing behind her. Each boy stood there in shock at the deaf girls’ voice. It was so powerful and meaning full. It’s like it had a purpose. But they didn’t care about that. This was their room today, not hers.

“Oi! What you doing? Get out!” one of the boys yelled. However, Lucy couldn’t hear anything, therefore she carried on singing. She didn’t even know of their existence until one of them hit her shoulder.

Lucy turned around to face them with a confused look. She got nervous, unsure of what to do. “Didn’t you hear him?! Get the fuck out you deaf wanker!” A different boy yelled in her face. Lucy grew more and more scared by the second as each of the boys yelled in her face. What hurt Lucy was the fact that she couldn’t hear the insults they yelled at her. She kept still.

“Get out you freak! Stop staring at us!” A tanned boy exclaimed. Upset, Lucy picked up her guitar and ran out the room, with tears spilling down her pale face. Lucy ran right into someone, but she didn’t care who. She moved out of the way for the stranger, scared that he was going to yell at her for something she didn’t know as well.

She found the girl’s loo and sat down in an empty cubical. The guitar lay beside her. Lucy’s trembling hands touched her ears self-consciously.  She fell onto the floor, pulling her knees up against her chest and sobbed.

I don’t belong in this world, Lucy thought. I’m an alien compared to everybody else. That’s how Lucy felt, like an alien. Aliens don’t belong in this world, so if she thought that then she thought she didn’t belong either.

Meanwhile, a certain curly haired boy from the famous boy band One Direction was walking down the hallways of the building on the 19th floor. He had heard a sudden haddock erupt from the room near his bands, so he went to go and check it out. A girl with long red hair came rushing out the room where the noise had started. The small girl had tears in bright blue eyes. What’s happened? Harry thought. The girl didn’t see where she was going and ran into Harry. Shocked, Harry stood still. He didn’t know what to do. But that didn’t matter because she mumbled an apology before sprinting away.

Curious, Harry went into the room the beautiful young girl had come out from. When he opened the door he saw the members of The Wanted standing next to each other laughing. “WHAT DID YOU DO!?” Harry yelled at them in disgust.

“She wouldn’t budge!” Max grinned manically. “So we shouted at her to go, she started crying and left!” He high fived his younger band mate which stood next to him.

“You monster! How could you do that to someone with such innocence?” Harry spat at the horrible animals. Harry wasn’t even sure they could be human. They are just too sick to be.

With that, Harry ran out the room to catch a glimpse of the red head going into the ladies bathroom. He sprinted over there, his curls bouncing along with each leap he took. Once he reached the room, he pressed his ear against the door. He heard crying. No. Not crying, broken sobbing. Harry’s heart went out to the poor girl.

Opening the door, he saw the same exact girl in a ball on the floor with tear marks on her clothing and a guitar next to her. Harry tiptoed over to the mystery girl and kneeled down beside her, moving the guitar away from her so he could have some space. Noticing him, she looked up at him, still crying.

After a few moments, the girl –Lucy- recognised him as her celebrity crush, Harry Styles. “Are you okay there?” Harry asks. Not hearing him, Lucy just looks down at her hands, embarrassed of both being unable to hear him and looking like the mess she is. After a long wait, Harry was unsure that she could hear him over her crying. Therefore, he repeated himself once more but slightly louder. “Excuse me, are you okay?” Harry asked politely. Still with no reply, Harry hugged her. At first, she was tense but soon relaxed. Lucy didn’t know what it was about Harry, but she felt safe and at bay. His touch seemed to calm her down almost instantly. She looked into his vibrant green eyes; they were like the forest outside her window in the studio. Lucy just seemed to get lost in them. She didn’t know if Harry minded or not because he stared back.

“I’m sorry.” Lucy whispered, looking away from the most handsome person she had ever seen.

“What are you sorry for?” Harry asks but all that is to Lucy is a mouth moving, making nothing but more silence. It was like listening to silent lyrics.

“I’m deaf. I can’t hear you. I’m so so sorry.” Lucy cried into Harry’s shoulder, her red hair fell around her face. Harry was shocked. What? No wonder she’s so upset, I will kill those boys the next time I see them, Harry thought to himself.

Harry put up a finger, indicating he would just be one second. He got up and left back for his studio room after Lucy had nodded.

“You alright there mate?” Liam asked when Harry got into the room.

“Pen…pen….dammit! I need a pen and paper!” He yelled in frustration. All the boys looked over at him, stopping whatever they were doing at that moment in time.

“Why? What do you need that for?” Louis asked. Harry ignored him and kept on with his search for the pen and paper.

“Haz?” Niall asked.

“What?!” He yelled at him in anger. Harry turned around to find Niall holding out a pen and a few sheets of paper. Cautiously taking the objects Harry calmed down, only a little though. He let out a breath he didn’t even know he was holding.

“Thanks.” He mumbled, running a hand through his hair. “Sorry.” He said before legging it out the room and back to where the crying girl of his dreams was.

When he got back into the toilets, he found the girl had cleaned her face up so the tears couldn’t be seen anymore, but her eyes were still bloodshot.

Lucy looked at Harry weirdly, wondering where he went. To answer the unspoken question, Harry held out the pen and paper. She understood then. Harry wrote some stuff down on the paper before handing it over.

Hey there, my name is Harry, what’s yours? And are you okay? His handwriting was almost delicate to the touch.

“I’m Lucy. And yeah, I’m okay. Those boys just upset me though.” Lucy said, trying to be confident.

That’s a pretty name J are you sure you’re ok? What did they say?

“I don’t know. I cannot hear, remember?” Lucy laughed at Harry’s reaction. His baby face flushed bright pink in embarrassment. “Awe that’s so cute!” Lucy cooed at him before realising what she said. Now it was yet again her turn to go pink.

Think I’m cute then, aye? Sorry about that. I’m just going to go beat up the boys who did this. They aren’t very nice. My band and I hate their guts.

“Haha. What’s the band name?” Lucy giggled.

The Wanted.

“Well they are very unwanted in my books.” Lucy joked about and Harry laughed. I like him. Lucy thought to herself.

Tell me about it. Wanna join me and my band in the studio? Harry’s hope had grown as did his liking to Lucy. He wanted her in his life. As more than a friend.

“Oh my cheese balls! Are you sure? I mean I don’t want to be a burden or anything.” Lucy rambled on, hoping she didn’t sound stupid or anything. Harry nodded quickly. He wanted to get to know her. Then maybe one day they could be together. “Oh okay, sure, you lead the way!” Lucy chimed and Harry left the room, with Lucy following closely behind him.
