Listening To The Silent Lyrics

What happens when your ordinary life turns into a drama? What happens when your dreams become true and you meet the love of your life? Well this is it for 16 year-old Lucy Mai. But this is no fairy tale. This is real life.

7. Apologizing

In the end I decide that I’ll record my other songs I’ve written. I play around with some other instruments. I have no idea what they sound like or if I’m really rubbish at playing them, but it passes the time. After 4 o’clock I text Ed to see where he is.

Time goes by, minute after minute, hour after hour and yet, Ed doesn’t reply. I knew this would happen. That he would just leave me alone here because he finds me odd. He probably felt pity on me and took me in. Maybe he and Craig are working together on this. Just to take the micky out of me.

I can’t believe everything people tell me. It could all just be lies. They all could be lying to me and I wouldn’t know because, I CAN’T HEAR THEM! I can’t hear the laughs everybody shares at night about how stupid I am and how pathetic I look.

Grabbing my coat, I keep in my tears and walk out the room. The streets were now pitch black and only the London city lights, light up my path home. The winter snow starts falling heavily and makes my vision go blurry, but I carry on walking. Without all the beeping car horns and loud chatter of people, London is a very nice and peaceful place.

I arrive home, shaking hugely. The light in the lounge was on and I walk in there to see Mya there with Ed. They were smiling and talking together. Even if I couldn’t hear them, I could tell that they were happy and were having a good time in each other’s company. Leaving them to it,  I tiptoe into my bedroom to get change into my PJ’s.

I throw on my Cookie Monster pyjamas and shove my other clothes into the washing basket. I sat down, wrapped up in my duvet reading the book ‘Ultraviolet’. I had only read the first few chapters before I saw my door open and both Ed and Mya walked in cautiously.

‘I didn’t hear you come in. Are you okay?’ Mya signed. I nodded and went back to my book. I was interrupted again when I felt the bed dip down. I look up to see Ed and Mya either side of me. ‘What do you want?’ I signed to Mya. I didn’t want Ed to understand what we were saying. It might offend him.

‘Ed says he’s sorry. He was with his manager.’ Mya told me.

It doesn’t really matter now, does it?’ was my reply. I think Mya sighed because she looked at me with a frustrated look.

It does matter. He is truly sorry. Please forgive him.’

Fine, one chance.’ We agreed. Mya smiled at me. And her and Ed talked. I feel so left out, not being able to join in with them. Mya got Ed some paper and a pen. He wrote down on there for a few moments again then passed me the note with the same handwriting on as the notes he passed me in the shop.

‘I truly am sorry. I was with management sorting out your contract with Syco Records,  forgive me please? Xxx’ was what had been written. I smiled at the kisses.

“Okay.” I told him, still grinning. I let out a long yawn.

‘Tired?’ Mya asked. I nodded and slouched down in the warmth of my quilt. Mya and Ed smiled before leaving. Ed gave me a small kiss on the head then left.

Shit. I think he does like me. Shit shit shitty shit shit shit! I don’t like him like he may think so! Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge. I mentally facepalmed before falling into a deep sleep.
