IT'S ALMOST SUMMER! I can't wait! Instead of laptops all day (which was getting REALLY boring as you could imagine), we were outside all day. We also got our yearbooks today. My picture looks great! Outside, people were playing 4 square, signing yearbooks, playing football, or just talking under a shady tree. I did a little bit of each (except for playing football!) We also got snow cones! I never had one before, being under the sea my whole life. You get shaved ice in a cup, then choose what flavors you want! They had orange, cherry, lemon, lime, watermelon, strawberry, and blue raspberry! I got lemon, lime, and orange. IT WAS DELICIOUS! I can't wait to tell Rachel and Clare all about them! I ate my snow cone under a tree with Carmen and Mietta. "These things are amazing! Have you guys had them before?" I asked. "Well of course! You have never had one?" Mietta answered back. I told them no, and they were astonished. Apparently, they have had them since they were little kids. I forgot that this has been my first year on land, while they have been her their whole life. Under the sea, mermaids only learn to read and write. That's all the education I had before going to high school this year. Mom and Dad felt that they needed me to go to regular school for school since I could. That reminds me! You're probably wondering how Dad lives underwater even though he is a human. He went through a huge surgery that gave him lungs like mine that could breathe on land and in water. He also got protective covering over his eyes so he could open his eyes underwater. Sometimes, he goes for a really long time without blinking, which REALLY creeps out his coworkers. He works at the local bank. He has to remember to blink every so often! The kids at school are going to this rich girl Maya's party castle- I mean, mansion! They are going to her mansion for a pool party. PHEW! Not another beach day. I'm going to Clare's party castle with Rachel for a movie date. We are watching The Lion King for the billionth time. We only watch Disney movies- it's our part to support the business since they made a movie about my mom and dad! That's next up on the movie list! She has the best theatre food- POPCORN that one of her dad's human mermaid hybrids could get from land, soda, seashell nachos, and seagrape candy! Gotta run- will write tomorrow!
