You're Hired

“What do you think will happen when the contract ends?” I asked him. He shrugged his shoulders as a respond.

“It’s up to you, what do you feel?”” he replied.

“About?” I asked him.

“About us.” he responded.

2. Chapter Two

I woke up the next day feeling like I was hit by a train. I don’t know why. But I did.

Ellise couldn’t shut up about how she saw One Direction yesterday. Yes, I know. She’s just happy. And I remembered her reaction yesterday when she thought they were going to us. Yeah, she was freaking out. But then, they weren’t walking towards us. They were walking towards somewhere else to have a photo shoot. Oh how nice!

I walked over to my mirror and got one of the clips on the table. I tied my hair into a ponytail before going to my closet to go get changed.

After a few minutes, I was done. I walked out of my room and headed downstairs and into the kitchen to grab an apple, after that I headed to the park.

I just got out of college, and well, I’m supposed to be looking after the family company but thats when I turn 20. And well, I’m still 18 turning 19 this year, so I have a free life for the mean time. I placed my earphones on my ears and played a random song. Great. It was What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction. I don’t even know how this song got into my phone.

Oh wait- yeah Ellise placed it. She is such an addict.

I’m honestly not the type of girl who sings along to the music, instead I just hum it. Yeah. I know, I am a little bit different. But being different doesn’t bother me. Like Luna Lovegood she was different, but she was great. For me, being different is what makes me special. I don’t want to even try to be like those girls who act so girly. I just want to be me.

I stopped in my tracks when my phone vibrated which indicated a text. I opened my phone and checked who just texted me. Ellise.

"Where are you? In the park now! :)" The text said. I quickly replied and then placed my phone in my pocket. I continued walking until I heard someone call after me. I turned my head around but there was no one there. I looked back to the front and nearly had a heart attack when I saw someone standing infront of me.

“Oh my gosh,” I said.

“Sorry.” the persons voice was deep and husky. And it had a accent. A Bradford accent to be exact. Now there was something about Bradford that Ellise told me. “Can you tell me where the nearest Starbucks is?"

“Umm, yeah sure.” I said, rubbing my neck. “It’s down the street near a flower shop."

“Thanks,” he said as he flashed me a smile. He is cute. But I’m sure he wasn’t from here. “I’m Zayn.” He stuck his hand out and waited for me to take it.

“Jemima,” I said, taking his hand and shaking it. “So I’ll catch you around… Zayn."

“Nah, I’m only here for a short time. Like a faction or something.” he said.

“Okay, cool.” I said. “So, okay, bye.”

“Kay, bye.” he walked towards Starbucks.. I guess and I watched him as he walked away to his destination. Weird. I shook my head and then continued my walk towards the park. I’m pretty sure Ellise is feeling impatient right now.

* * *

“Are you excited?”Ellise yelled. I rolled my eyes at her and then looked at her hands that were holding two backstage passes. I sighed.

“I guess this is a dream come true for you,” I observed.

“DUH!” she yelled. I moved my head a little away from her in case she might break my ears. “Sorry.” she said softly.

“Nah, it’s fine."

“I’m just so happy!!!” Ellise exclaimed. “Oh my god! I cannot believe all of this!"

“Congrats,” I said.

“Why aren’t you happy?” she asked, finally getting a grip of herself.

“Am I supposed to be?” I asked.

“Well yeah! Since you’re going with me!”

I nearly joked on the drink I was drinking. I looked up at her with wide eyes. And this time I wasn’t joking. I am surprised. “What?” I managed to say.

“I didn’t get two tickets for no reason.” she said in a sassy tone, as if the fact was so obvious.

“Me?” I pointed to myself. “I have to come with you?” I pointed at her.

“Yeah! It’s a MUST dear,” she said calmly.

“You remind me of my mum,” I pointed out.

“Shut up.” she said, hitting me playfully in the arm. I laughed at her and nodded my head.

“Don’t worry, I’ll come with you.” I chuckled.

“Oh my god! I love you!” she said, hugging me. Her hug was too tight that it nearly squished and choked me. But I’m not complaining. I’m lucky to have a best friend like her.

“Let go of me!” I said, my voice was barely audible since I need air. She let go of me and then quickly apologised.

We continued talking and in the process we decided what to wear. We agreed to wear something black, and wear matching skinny jeans and uggs. I have to admit. I am a little excited.
