Heaven Sent

Blue eyes, dark hair over one eye, pale skin...
Who is the mysterious boy that saved Nahla on the night of the fight?
Why is he here? For her sake? Well, Roux is no ordinary guy... Doing what he does is difficult. Not to break the law, bend the rules, to be with her... but, they can get away with it. Can't they?...

21. Nahla

I have just been sitting here, looking away from his intimidating stare, when he comes along and saves me, again. With his charm and his passion. "You cannot change this!" Says, Marshall suddenly breaking the silence. "The law is the law! It is illegal to be with a human, do you hear me?! And, that will never change no matter how much you beg!..."

"Why are you even like this Marshall? Its not like you to be prejudice against law changes! Unless..." He looks up. "You experienced it yourself, didn't you? You fell in love with a human, to. That is why you're being like this! You just want us to suffer the pain, you did when someone found out. You have been keeping a secret for all these years!" Marshall is looking uncertain.

"What are you talking about, boy?! you are just finding a way to get back at me!"

"No, I'm not! And, there is not any way you can hide now!" Roux, walks out from behind the bench, up to him, a pained look on his face. "I trusted you! I told you my worries and troubles, you telling me all this was wrong! Liar!"

"OK!" He gives in. "So what if it only happened once... twice! Fine, six times! But, I loved her, Roux. I really did." He has fallen. His wall collapsed, leaving a weak, trembling man behind it. In fear, in doubt he had tried to conceal himself behind a tall, strong, professional appearance but really. He was, all along, just a coward like anyone else. "Marshall?" The High-Judge has stood up behind his desk. "You have lied, cheated and concealed yourself. This..." He raises his voice, gesturing at him. "...Is an act, with out doubt, of terrible cowardice! And, as you very well know, that in itself is an offence against the law. Its disgraceful! I thought you knew better! Guards!" He calls over, two burly men. "Take this man to the cells, where I personally will deal with him later." They nod and go over to where Marshall is crouched on the floor, head bowed. They wrench him up where he sits and Roux, walks over. I run after. When, I am at his elbow, Marshall lifts his head. "You have a good life! If you get through this case, good. I will be happy for you. Just... don't mess it up...like I did."

Then, he hasn't a chance to say any more, because the body-guards have already taken him, over to the doors. We turn our heads back to the high-Judge's desk, where he speaks again. "As, for you two..." He sighs. "You are a good lad, Roux. And, as long as you don't reveal anything, you." He nods to me. "Swear to silence, about our world. I will allow it." Roux's eyes widen and he looks at me. We grin. "And, that is my judgement!" He bangs his hammer on the desk.
