1. Introducing The Invisible Child

'Ally, would you mind coming out of your pit and helping me with your brothers?!' My mum yelled up the stairs for me.

'Yeah sure Mum, not like I have my own plans to do!' I angrily yelled downstairs. What? I know what your thinking, 'how mean! Why don't you go and help your mum?' Hey it's not my fault she kicked my dad out when he caught HER cheating on him with my maths teacher from school, YUCK! Anyway if you haven't guessed my name is Ally, my real name is Alice but I'm not a fan, so people call me Ally. I'm 16 years old and I live here in my small and cosy home with my mum and four brothers, Jamie, Josh, Will and Arron, 9, 11, 18 and 20 all in order. Things haven't been the same since my mum kicked dad out, we don't get along, and my two older brothers aren't really a fan of her either but aren't around much to say, while my two little brother's have been brainwashed and love her. She has become selfish and puts herself first before her own kids, so I'm basically the 'mother figure' around here. I cook, clean and do all the washing while she does herself up and disappears for dates every five minutes with disgusting, pedophilic men!

I sighed as I pushed back the warm duevt from me and climbed out of bed looking down at my alarm clock which read the time 7:30AM. I grumbled at my mum for waking me up so early and I sleepily drifted off downstairs mentally preparing myself for the manic rush of downstairs.

'About time you got up!' My mum tutted at me as soon as I stepped through the door.

'Wow as soon as I put my foot through the door she already starts whining!' I sighed as I picked up the four cornflaked covered cereal bowls left on the table from my brothers. Jamie and Josh were running around the kitchen with Lightsabers fighting with each other, every now and then Jamie would yell as Josh would hit him hard on the head.

'Don't start Alice!' My mum threatened as she curled her hair in the mirror by the doorway with her curling tongs.

'Or what mum? Please enlighten me, what are you going to threaten me against? Going out? Seeing my friends? Dating boys? Please, because of you not being around I basically have no life.' I informed her as I stacked the bowls in the dishwasher.

'Oh Ally don't, you know I hate being away from you guys!' She sulked as she curled the last bit of hair and flicked it off of her face. She scrunched her hands on her hair, giving it volume and she pouted her lips in the mirror admiring herself. To be fair for a woman who had given birth to five kids and is forty she didn't look a day over 35 and her figure was amazing.

'Don't lie Mum you're not fooling me! You don't care about us, as long as you're happy then that's all that matters.' I lectured wiping the table down with a cloth as she applied pink glittery lipgloss on her full lips.

'Oww! Joshie that hurt!' Jamie whinned as Josh hit him hard on the head with his light-up green lightsaber, I instantly went over to Jamie to sooth him giving him a hug and gently rubbing his forehead better.

'See you don't even care that one of your children just got hurt! It's your job to look after us not me!' She didn't take any notice, she was too busy admiring herself in the mirror, running her hands down her slim body, along the tight fitted black dress she had on. MY black dress. 'Hey that's my bodycon!' I pointed out.

'I know it looks so much better on me and plus I have a date in a minute!' She informed me.

'Oh really? Who with? A skanky, ill-mannered builder? Or wait is it a vain, obnoxious plumber? You seem to have a thing with them don't you Mum?' I spat in disgust.

'Jesus child you're like my mother! No nither of them FYI! It's a bodybuilder.' She gave me a spitful smile before turning around to look at herself in the mirror.

'Well least it's not my Mr Henry, my maths teacher again, that's just weird.' I sighed as I put the cereal box back in the cupboard.

'Actually I am but that's later today after Jake the bodybuilder takes me to Manchester.' She smiled, pleased with herself. I sighed as I told the boys to brush their teeth.

'I miss dad.'

'Well it's not my fault your father was a rubbish husband.' She blurted, I turned round and gave her the most filthiest look, her face was shocked, her eyes wider and her mouth open.

'How dare you! He is a much better parent than you even if you wished you were!' I yelled. The doorbell rang cutting my rant.

'Darling I didn't mean-'

'Go answer the door, that's probably your date.' I interrupted. Jamie and Josh came out of the bathroom toothpaste around their worried faces, I put my hands on their shoulders and gently pulled them into me.

'What's happening?' Josh asked, his voice wobbling.

'Mummy's leaving us again.' They both looked over to her as she greeted her date with a kiss on the cheek, she quickly looked around at us and gave us a sympathetic look.

'I promise I won't be long boys, come give your Mummy a kiss.' She bent down with her arms wide open, I tutted and walked out to the stairs and went upstairs, leaving the boys with their 'best mum in the world'.
