15. Chapter 15

"Thank you Mary," Cami smiled as the kids all climbed out of the car and ran up to Cami yelling.

They were all telling the stories of the adventure into town. They were also letting Cami know how much they liked Niall.

"That's great everybody," Cami looked around at the smiling faces.

Cami cleared her throat afraid of what she was about to tell them . Was she making the right decision?

"Okay everyone. I know you all are really worried about mom and everything but we cannot think about that right now. I need you all to go inside and pack some things. Only a week's worth of clothing and the basic needs."

They all looked up at her wondering why but only John had nerve to ask.

"Cami what's going on? Why do we need to pack?" he asked in his deep voice.

"You all are going to stay with Aunt Mary," before the whines, complains, or anymore questions Cami held up her hand. "I don't want to hear it. You will be leaving tomorrow. I will have the paperwork drawn up tonight and officiated in the morning."

"But you can't do this!" John yelled. "Mom wouldn't want this!"

"Yeah!" the rest of the kids yelled at her.

"Quite frankly I do not care what mom would want!" Cami yelled back at them.

"Cami," Niall put his hand on her shoulder. "Is this the best idea?"

"Yes Niall," Cami swallowed hard. "Can you please leave though? I need to be with my family. I'll call you later though."

Niall nodded understanding the situation to the best of his ability.

"Get inside and go pack now. Uncle George is going to stay with you all. John make sure they only pack what they need," Cami was commanding them. "I will be back in a few hours. Probably not more than two hours. I need you all ready by then."

"I'll help them pack but I am staying," John looked at Cami, challenging her authority right now.

"John," Cami didn't want to fight right now. "Please. Just do as I say. Please."

John didn't protest because he heard the desperation in Cami's voice.

"Let's go Mary," Cami sighed, waving goodbye to the kids as they all walked inside with Mary's husband George.
