Blackened Souls

This is poetry from a very hard period of my life. I hope you enjoy. Some are happy some are morbid.

20. Destruction: a poem through the Animals eyes

The wind blows

The trees bend and sway

The water flows

The sounds of nature

Can be heard, near and far.

Open your ears

Listen closely to

The music of the trees

Animals beckon

The wind calls

Hear the call of the wind

Hear the whispers

Hear the screams

Hear the pain

Animals are dying

The plants are disappearing

Hear them cry

Hear them wail

Hear them call out for help

They were there before you

They were there with their families

Hear them cry

Watch them die

Why do you laugh

Why are consumed with greed?

The medicine is lost

The majestic forest

Is dying do you

You must hear

this warning

You must

heed its

Stop what you're doing

Bloody hands

Pick up the fallen limbs

The blood of the natives

Absorb through your

greedy tendrils

You call fingers.

Humans, is what

your called.

But to my people

You are called
