It All Started With A Brownie

Actually, it starts with two.
Susie gets up one morning and makes a load of brownies. 250, in fact. She and her friends don't know what to do with them so they decide to sell them - outside their apartment. A guy comes along, hood up, blue eyes and soft blonde hair. He keeps his face hidden, but when Susie sees him properly, it's Niall Horan, her celebrity crush. Can Susie keep her secret hidden from her friends, or will the truth come out?

36. Sick

Hope you enjoy the chapter, important A/N at the end, so please read :)

Liv’s POV

“Guys,” I croaked out feebly, and the other girls looked up from the couch.

“What’s the matter, babe?” Annabel rushed over to my bed and I sat up, immediately feeling dizzy.

Aw, this sucks.

My friend pushed me back down and felt my forehead. “God Liv, you’re burning up pretty quickly. Zara, can you get a glass of water for her?”

Zara walked over to the kitchenette next to the lounge area and let the tap run a little while, before getting out a glass and filling it up.

“Here you go.” She offered it to my shaking hands, “Sip this.”

I took the water gratefully and drank slowly, whilst Annabel got out a thermometer and stuck it in my ear.

“Take it out.” I moaned and frowned when she looked at the number in surprise. “What is it?”

“38.2”

“That’s not good.”

“Nope.”

Rolling my eyes, I sighed. “I’m still coming with you guys into Japan, just so you know that.”

Zara laughed and picked up her mobile, dialling a number and speaking clearly into the phone. “Hey Liam, yep, it’s me. Can you come over and talk some sense into Liv? She’s gone slightly mad.”

I let out a small smile and snuggled back under my feather duvet. Even though I seemed to be burning up, my skin felt cold and prickled with goose bumps.

Damn this definitely sucks.

Five minutes later, Liam knocked on the hotel door and Annabel let him in, whispering furiously with him out of sight.

“Zara?”

“Mm?”

“I really, really want to come shopping with everyone. I’ve never been to Japan before and this is just such a great opportunity to miss. Please let me go, I’ll feel better soon.” Using my best pleading eyes, I could see Zara starting to waver, but then she shook her head and stayed firm.

“Liv, it looks like you’ve got a fever, some people get that when they go to a different country, like they get ill because it’s a new place. It’s better if you stay and get better.”

Liam bounded over and crashed on the bed, pulling me into a big hug. “Liv!”

“Heya. Don’t get any closer or you might get my ‘fever’.”

Liam rolled back and leaned on his elbow, smirking at me. Oh God. My hair must be such a mess. And I didn’t have any makeup on. And I was in a strappy top and pyjama shorts.

A blast of cold air seemed to blow over me and I shivered. “Liam, could you get me my hoodie please?”

He nodded and smiled sadly, reaching over for the hoodie and helping me get it on.

“Thanks.” I whispered and he nodded in reply, hugging me once more.

At that moment, Danielle burst into the room and caught us mid-embrace. Her eyebrows raised and her hands flew to her hips.

Liam sprang up immediately and rushed over to his girlfriend, hugging her around the waist and giving me an apologetic look.

I shrugged it off, but inside I was seething.

Why did that girl always have to ruin everything?! We were just hugging and I definitely, definitely, don’t have feelings for Liam.

And... even if I did, he doesn’t have any for me, so it would never happen.

So I don’t see why she has to glare accusingly at me all the time!

Groaning, I slouched back on my pillow and closed my eyes. Suddenly going out and spending the whole day with Danielle being over protective with Liam didn’t seem as appetizing as it did earlier.

Why not just stay at the hotel? I could do my work, catch up on some stuff and get better for tomorrow.

Opening my eyes, I nodded at Liam and the girls. “I’ll stay, but on one condition. That none of you stay with me. I know what you’re like and I’m fine. I can take care of myself, and if I start to feel really sick then I’ll phone room service.”

Liam seemed to consider this before grinning. “Aw, Liv, that’s cute.” Glare from Danielle. “I mean, that’s kind of you to think of us. I’m going to get a doctor to come up and check on you, and then we’ll go.”

Nodding, I turned back to my glass of water and took a few more sips.

The doctor was quick and came up straight away, checking my temperature, heartbeat and giving me some antibiotics.

“Bye, guys.” I hurried the others out, admiring Liam’s gold Rolex watch on the way. “Ooh, this is nice Liam. Where’d you get it from?”

“My parents.”

I smiled. “That’s really nice of them. Also, do you think-” I checked to see if anyone was around, “Do you think Danielle’s acting a little weird around me? I don’t think she likes me, Liam.”

Liam frowned and shook his head. “Don’t be stupid Liv, Danielle loves you.”

“But, she’s not been particularly nice to me-”

Liam’s frown deepened, “I’m sure she hasn’t done that, Liv, Danielle is very sweet, you’re probably just reading some signs wrong.”

Plastering a smile on my face, I sighed inwardly. “Yeah, you’re right. I’m being silly. Have a good time.”

“Thanks, see you later.”

“Bye.”

**

Three hours later found me waking up from a deep sleep, rubbing my eyes and glancing at the phone next to me.

Zara had texted to say that they would be back around five in the afternoon, and that they’d get some stuff for me.

Noticing my headache had cleared and I was feeling a lot better, I decided to get out the work I had been assigned.

After completing the few pages of translations and writing up on some business practical that we had done last week, I decided to leave meeting up with the two business executives to a later stage, not feeling up to going out.

Saving my work so far, I opened up the Skype tab on my Macbook and looked at who was online.

Nobody.

Ah yes, in England it was currently four in the morning.

Well, that explains it.

Looking around me for things to do, I took a few snapchats (because snapchat is for cool people), picked up the TV remote and switched it on, gazing dreamily at the Lindt advert that appeared in front of me.

A loud rumble sounded from my stomach and I punched in the reception number on the hotel room phone.

“Hello, how may I help?”

When we had arrived, One Direction’s bodyguard Paul Higgins, told us that any extra expenses including room service would be covered, so I decided to take the opportunity and order some stuff.

Some yummy stuff.

“Um yes please, can I can some food?”

“Sure, what would you like?”

I thought for a moment, before answering. “Pancakes with Nutella, bacon, orange juice, a packet of Tangfastics and some Lindt balls.”

“Anything else?”

“Nope, I think that’s all for now thank you.”

“And which room number are you?”

“426.”

“Be up right away.”

I put down the phone and waited for my food, which when it came up, was delicious.

For the rest of the day I lounged about and visited the other’s rooms, admiring the views and exploring the hotel. It was a pretty marvellous place, and I guess One Direction don’t necessarily realise how lucky they are sometimes. I would give anything to stay somewhere like this all the time, oh, if only…

When everyone else got back around dinner time, I was relieved. Staying on your own all day is pretty boring, and Susie smothered me in hugs, as she hadn’t seen me this morning. Everyone was happy that I was feeling a lot better, and when Zara got out about fifteen bags that apparently were all for me, I couldn’t believe my eyes.

“What- but- how the- wha-”

Zara giggled, “If you’re wondering how we paid for everything, let me just say that One Direction get a lot of free stuff for publicity.”

Grinning, I opened up the bags and spent several hours trying on all the amazing clothes that the girls had picked out for me.

Designer shirts, Lululemon leggings, slimming bodycons, quirky t-shirts and cute dresses all appeared in front of me and the little motifs that Annabel had picked up made me laugh. They all showed me pictures of the day and it looked great.

Liam told me that there was another chance to go shopping at the end of the week, but when I informed him that I obviously did not need any more clothes, he changed it to ‘sightseeing’.

We had dinner at the hotel, and it was really nice, all of us round one big table, telling old family stories and reminiscing on the good old days.

When we got back up to the rooms, Liam burst in, looking panicked. “Um, Liv, have you seen my Rolex watch?”

“No, why?”

“Well, when we went out, I nipped back to my room to leave it here just in case, and now it’s gone. I can’t find it anywhere Liv and I’m so worried. My parents got that especially for me and it means so much! You were the only one here, are you sure you haven’t seen it?”

“No, Liam, I’m extremely sorry but I haven’t.”

He nodded sadly. “If you say so Liv, if you say so...”

XXX

Oooh what's up with the missing watch?? Teaser for next chapter: An exciting event is the cause for party time but trouble arises the next morning...

Only four chapters left guys, hope you are prepared for the ending!!

IMPORTANT A/N: Basics, you know I said I was going to do a sequel...

Weeell, I am, but not for a little while... I have so much school work and clubs, and I seriously don't know how people doing their A levels fit in writing a book on Movellas, it's crazy!

What I don't want is to start the sequel and find that I'm not going to be able to give an update every week, so what I'm going to do is start working on the sequel when I have time (in the Christmas hols and stuff), and by January/February 2014, the sequel will (hopefully) be up. I'm really sorry but you have no idea how stressful it is having to write every week along with 8hr dance rehearsals every saturday/sunday, GCSE's and extra clubs that I do, I'm so sorry but that's my life :/

But just keep in your minds that there will be a sequel and I would love you guys to read it after this, it would mean the world, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for information :D

Anyways, IASWAB is not finished yet, so don't panic, just warning you so you're not like, WHERE'S THE SEQUEL SHE PROMISED and all that...
