It All Started With A Brownie

Actually, it starts with two.
Susie gets up one morning and makes a load of brownies. 250, in fact. She and her friends don't know what to do with them so they decide to sell them - outside their apartment. A guy comes along, hood up, blue eyes and soft blonde hair. He keeps his face hidden, but when Susie sees him properly, it's Niall Horan, her celebrity crush. Can Susie keep her secret hidden from her friends, or will the truth come out?

39. She's Gone

Soo, hope you enjoy the chapter! Bit early to make up for the late one last week, sorry!

Susie's POV

I sat on the sofa with Annabel and Zara.

No Liv.

And it felt strange.

It felt as if a piece of my heart was missing. I had known Liv for so long, and now- Now she was gone.

I still can't believe she stole everybody's stuff. It all fits in perfectly with the events, how she was ill, her little morning run, but I still can't get over the fact that my Liv had done something like that...

And to blame it on Danielle...

To be honest, I had never seen Danielle and Liv argue, and Liv tended to dramatise things a bit, so when the truth came out, I guessed that it had been part of the lie, to get our attention.

Everyone's pretty mad about it, I don't blame them, but I wish I just knew where the girl was.

However, she's turned her phone off, and it doesn't look like it will be turned back on any time soon.

The only person who is doing everything they can to find Liv is Harry. He's been devoted to it. Texting, calling, emailing, even spamming her Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to let her know he's looking. Unfortunately, Liv hasn't replied to a single message, and Harry's distraught about it, blaming Liam for making her run away, convinced that she hasn't done anything wrong.

I- I don't really think she's done it either, but everything points in her direction, and- I can't help but feel angry for taking our stuff and making out like it's another person.

Glancing across at the other two, their faces are both cold and stony. "Are you alright guys?" I ask softly.

Zara tears her eyes away from the wall to look at me. "Yeah, I just- It's been three days, and I'm kind of missing Liv."

Annabel nodded in agreement. "Me too, but I'm just not sure how we're going to welcome her back into our lives after we go back to England. I mean, she's betrayed all of us, and I don't think I would feel comfortable living with her for evermore, it would just make everything extremely awkward."

Sighing heavily, I hopped up to make some more tea, receiving a call from Niall.

"Hey babe."

I smiled. "Hi Niall, what's up?"

"I know you guys aren't coming to the gig tonight, but we were wondering if you wanted to come out to a restaurant with us afterwards? It wouldn't be much, but it will be fun."

Grinning at the prospect of something to lighten our sad lives at the moment, I told him gleefully that we would love to.

"See you later then!" He called down the phone and I wished him luck with the show before hanging up and telling the girls the news.

"Hey, guys? The boys have invited us to dinner with them after the gig. I said yes, you up for it?" I told Annabel and Zara, and their faces lit up.

"That sounds good, any idea where we're going?" Zara asked and I shook my head.

"No, but I'm sure it will be really nice. You know what they're like."

Giggling, we decided to order a quick lunch from reception, joining the Danielle, Perrie and Eleanor in Perrie's room.

"We only have two more nights left guys, I'm so sad!" Eleanor wailed in mock distress and Perrie jumped on her, squashing the petite thing and making us all burst into fits of laughter.

"What time do the boys want us at the place?" Danielle asked Zara and she shrugged, turning to me.

"Umm, about six thirty, I think." Smiling at Danielle, the thought of her stealing anything like Liv had said seemed ridiculous.

But then so did the idea of Liv stealing something...

After a couple of hours of chatting and fooling around, I decided to go back to my room to skype Charlotte.

"Hey Charlie, how you doing?"

"I'm alright thanks. How are you?" She looked so pretty on the webcam: long blonde hair straightened and big blue eyes brought out by her makeup.

"Weell, as you know, I'm in Japan."

She grinned. "Yeah, you lucky thing!"

"Aha, it's nice, but there's been a bit of a problem. Liv's been caught stealing some of the boys and their girlfriends stuff."

Charlotte frowned and shook her head. "Did you actually see her taking the things though?"

I hesitated for a moment. "Er, no, but they were found in her drawer and it kind of all fits in..."

"Susie, if you didn't see her taking it and you don't have that proof, then you can't accuse her. She might have been framed."

"I don't think so..."

"So you're gonna believe that Liv, who you've known since year eight, has stolen some stuff?"

"Is she with you now?" Charlotte's worried face made me a bit jumpy. What if she was right? Maybe Liv didn't steal all those things?

"No, she packed and left. None of us have a clue where she is."

Charlotte's mouth dropped and her accusing eyes stared at me. "So Liv is somewhere in Japan, all alone, with about fifteen people accusing her of stealing expensive stuff that she may not have taken."

Not being able to deny this, I nodded and Charlotte sighed. "Look Susie, I know it must have been a shock to think that Liv betrayed you or something, but she's your friend, she's only nineteen, you need to find her and make sure she's safe."

I nodded again and the call was ended.

I sat for a while, mulling over what Charlotte had said. I guess we did need to see if Liv was alright, I'd be feeling awful right now if I was all alone in a big city that I knew nothing about.

Going back to the others, I told them what my friend had suggested and all of them agreed.

Well, Danielle said that she was sure Liv was okay, and she didn't seem that bothered about finding her, so I didn't press the matter too much.

"What are you guys going to wear to the restaurant?" Annabel asked us and I shrugged.

"My short black playsuit." Perrie grinned and I nodded.

"That sounds good. I might wear the emerald dress I got for my nineteenth birthday." I smiled.

Zara, Danielle and Eleanor said they didn't know yet, but it was already four o'clock, so we decided to get ready.

Going back to my room and not having Niall to help with jewellery and makeup (he was good at that kind of stuff), I wandered into Zara and Annabel's room for some company.

Eleanor, Perrie and Danielle were getting changed in there too, and by the time I did my makeup, I felt that something was missing.

"Guys, what jewellery do you think would go well with the dress?" I asked the others and Zara frowned, thinking about it.

"It needs something green..." She finally muttered and Danielle piped up.

"Yeah, how about that emerald necklace you have."

I frowned. "What did you just say?"

"The emerald necklace, it would go well with the dress."

A memory of my belated grandmother giving the precious item to me on my eleventh birthday appeared in my mind. I had never worn the necklace before, for fear of it getting lost or broken.

So how did Danielle know about it?

"Where have you seen that?" I asked coldly, and everyone was silent, staring at the exchange.

"Umm...You wore it once?" Danielle replied slowly and I shook my head, my jaw hardening and my teeth grinding together.

"No Danielle. I've never worn it before. So tell me again, where did you see it?"

"Er.." Her panicked look made a horrible feeling of dread set in the pit of my stomach.

"It was you, wasn't it? You stole the four items."

Danielle looked at the ground, her eyes full of desperation. "No, it was Liv."

That was when I snapped. "NO! NO, Danielle, it was not Liv, MY friend, it was you! You worthless piece of-"

Zara cut me off. "I can't believe it. I just can't believe you would frame someone like that!"

Annabel went up to Danielle and slapped her, not as hard as I would have liked, but still hard enough for the girl to clutch her cheek in pain. "You're horrible. Susie, get out your phone and call Liam."

Danielle stood up straight. She looked terrified. "No, please don't tell him."

Whilst the phone was ringing, I heard Eleanor talking to Danielle. "All this time, you've been jealous, haven't you? Jealous of Liv being friends with your boyfriend. And you WERE mean to her as well, we just were too blind to believe her. Because of you!"

Danielle crumpled and fell crying on the floor.

I got through to Liam and he asked a panicked. "What happened? Is everything all right?

"No, you need to come and sort something out."

When Liam arrived, Danielle was still crying in a heap on the floor. We stood around her, rolling our eyes and wondering what we were going to do about finding Liv and apoligising.

"Danielle! Are you okay?" Liam rushed over to his girlfriend and she hugged him tightly.

"No, she's not okay, because we just found out it was her who stole everyone's stuff, not Liv." Perrie hissed, and Liam stepped back as if he had been scalded.

"You what?!" He screeched and the other boys filed into the room, gaping at the scene before them.

Danielle looked up at Liam, but he couldn't meet her eyes. "No, it wasn't me babe, don't listen to them!"

Liam's eyes flickered over to me and I glared at Danielle. "Liam, she's lying. It was never Liv."

Liam stepped back further and looked in disgust at the wailing woman. "Get away from me." He whispered. "All you've been trying to do is make Liv's life miserable. She tried to tell me you weren't being particularly nice to her at the beginning of the stay, but I didn't listen. And I should have! I can't believe you did this Danielle, to my best friend."

Danielle's eyes flashed with anger. "She likes you Liam, it's plain to see. I just didn't want to lose you."

"Well I'm afraid you already have."

At these words, Danielle stood up and nodded. "Okay, I accept that. I'm sorry Liam and everyone, for hurting you, but I hope you find a girl who will love you as much as I do Liam." She turned to us. "Sorry guys."

I watched her walk away, and Perrie and Eleanor started to cry. I guess they'd just lost a very good friend, and that was always hard. Glancing back at Liam, I noticed the anxiety lines across his forehead.

"I told you it wasn't Liv." Harry stated, shrugging. "I'm going to find her."

"No, I will. I need to apologise." Liam whispered and walked out of the room, leaving Harry frowning.

"Did Danielle say Liv fancied Liam?" He asked casually.

I nodded. "I think she does. Now someone's mentioned it, it's kind of obvious." At my words, Harry's face fell, but he brightened up a few seconds later.

"Lucky Liam, huh?"

Nobody said anything, but we all knew.

The only person who had bothered to contact Liv was Harry.

The only one of us who had tried to find her was Harry.

And now Liam was going to get her.

My heart felt for Harry, and I rushed over to Niall. He crushed me in a big hug and I sniffled in his chest, hoping that somehow everything would turn out to be okay.

It just had to.

Did you like the outcome? So, it wasn't Liv after all, HOORAY!! And it was Danielle, woah, what did you think of the break up between Payzer? And do you think Liv will forgive Liam, or will he even find her at all?

Ahh, all will be revealed in the last chapter!! See you then,

Liv x
