It All Started With A Brownie

Actually, it starts with two.
Susie gets up one morning and makes a load of brownies. 250, in fact. She and her friends don't know what to do with them so they decide to sell them - outside their apartment. A guy comes along, hood up, blue eyes and soft blonde hair. He keeps his face hidden, but when Susie sees him properly, it's Niall Horan, her celebrity crush. Can Susie keep her secret hidden from her friends, or will the truth come out?

9. Party Time: part 2

Thank you so much for your lovely comments and votes and everything- it is greatly appreciated and I always looking forward to updating!  :)

This chapter is dedicated to my amazing friend Susie because it is her birthday tomorrow and the theme is The Hunger Games, which I have only just watched (yesterday), but it was great and I really enjoyed it when I thought I wouldn't and now I get the whole thing about Peeta and Gale (is that how you spell it??)

Anyway, here is the chapter and I hope you enjoy it- the secrets are coming out!

Susie’s POV

The party was going well and everybody seemed to be enjoying it. Zara was controlling the music and the food on the table seemed to be disappearing rapidly. It was already nine o’clock but the 1D boys had still not arrived.

I was in the middle of talking to a bunch of guys that go to my Uni, when the doorbell rang. Zara and Annabel looked over at me and I bit my lip. Could it be them?

I excused myself from my friends’ company and walked over to the two girls who were grinning like children on Christmas Day.

"Susie, is it them?" Annabel asked, twiddling her fingers and breathing pretty quickly. Zara fanned her face with her hands to keep from blushing and I inwardly laughed. Two weeks ago, these girls were against Directioners <A/N why has that word just come up with a red line under it?! Directioners is a word!!!!> and all things to do with One Direction. And now look at them.

Deciding she couldn't wait any longer to find out, Zara pulled us over to the front door by the oak spiral staircase that led to the bedrooms upstairs. Luckily this part of the house wasn't viewable from the kitchen and lounge so One Direction couldn't be seen, if indeed it was them behind the door.

We gingerly pulled it open together and there stood the most beautiful sight. Five adorable boys, looking around a little bewildered and very amazed. When their eyes settled on us, Niall grinned and the other boys seemed to know exactly who I was.

"Susie!" Niall squealed and stepped forward to give me a hug. I enjoyed him holding me almost protectively, but pulled back when the hug had gone on a little longer than a hug should usually go on for.

"Hey, Susie." The other boys called. "Happy birthday!"

I smiled at them a little shyly and so did the girls standing next to me. But when Zayn and Louis came over to say hi, their fangirlyness took over and I swear if they squealed any louder they were going to turn into piglets.

Just as I was about to invite the boys in out of the cold, a figure dressed in black appeared and walked in with them. "Uh- who's that?" I asked Niall and he rolled his eyes.

"It's our bodyguard and tour manager, Paul. He insisted on coming in, just in case things get a little out of hand. Sorry."

I laughed at his expression, "That's okay, Paul can join the party too." Paul smiled to himself as he listened to our conversation and stood to one side to give us space.

"Oh, I need to introduce you to my friends. Niall, you know these two, but the others don't. This is Annabel." Annabel waved at the boys, and blushed when they chorused, "Hi, Annabel."

"And this is Zara." I poked the girl who was currently in a daydream, staring at Zayn, and she snapped out of it and fluttered her eyelashes.

I purposely 'forgot' to mention Liv, as the boys would only want to go and meet her, which would turn out very badly, so I just took them into the lounge area where  Liv was nowhere to be seen. Phew. Unfortunately, as Niall made his way over to the food table, a few girls noticed him and started chatting and getting excited, so I left him to it and started to talk to Liam. Zara and Annabel were engrossed in conversation with Zayn and Louis, so I concentrated on the guy in front of me.

"You know, Niall's been talking non-stop about you since he came back that day from your apartment." Liam started off and I blushed.

"He must have really liked my brownies then."

The brunet smirked at me for trying to stick up for poor Niall and started singing to the music.

"Can I ask a question?" I interrupted him and Liam grinned at me and nodded,

"Of course. You don't have to ask."

"Ok. Umm... There are rumours going round that you'd choose Danielle over One Direction because you don't want to be apart from her when you go on tour. Is that true?"

Liam smiled sadly, "I would, yes. But I'm going to make management see that she needs to come with us. I can't be apart from her because I love her so much and I have to keep her safe."

Woah. I'd known him for five minutes and he already trusted me to tell me all that? That was nice, but it was clear how upset he was about this Danielle and the tour thing. One Direction had a big tour in 2014, and the couple loved each other so much, it was clear from everything he said about her in interviews and stuff like that. I just hoped they could be with each other for the tour. It was sad seeing Liam unhappy.

Harry joined in the convo and I got to know them both quite well in that time. They were really nice guys and I almost forgot about Niall by the food table. We walked over with Annabel, Zara, Louis and Zayn, and soon the many girls trying to get a picture with Niall started making all the boys pose together to post on Facebook and Instragram later.

As the people at the party were not particularly big fans of 1D, the noise quietened down a bit once they had all got over the initial fact that One Direction were in the room and I was glad that Paul hadn't had to get involved. That would have been embarrassing.

Harry asked where the toilet was, so I pointed it out and watched him go, noticing Liv right next to the bathroom. She was facing the other way, so she couldn't see Harry, but I pulled Niall over to watch if she turned around and saw them. I was sure she would get over it like everybody else, the episode with Niall was just because she was in a bad mood, right?

The others also came to watch, apart from Annabel, who was talking to my friends from running club, and I saw that Harry had stopped and was now watching the girl in front of him. Liv seemed to be singing the song playing at the moment and I edged closer.

"I never knew you were a good singer." Harry said, and Liv whipped around, her eyes widening in surprise, but also in anger.

"Harry?!" She shrieked, and I was a little surprised as well. How did she know his name? I thought she hated One Direction?

"Hi, Liv."

My heart stopped and my hand fell from Niall's grip. Now it was my turn to shriek. "What?! How do you two know each other?"

Liv looked at me, her face full of fury, and I knew right then that this had been a very bad idea to invite One Direction along. I waited for one of them to answer me, but Liv just shook her head and threw her hands in the air as the music grinded to a halt.

"How could you, Susie? How could you? After all I told you! I told you I hated them, so why did you do it? WHY?" She screamed this last part and growled at Harry as he stepped towards her. "Don't you dare come towards me, you little scumbag. Never come near me again!" The distressed girl ran off to the stairs and I tried to go after her, but Niall pulled me back.

"Leave her, Susie. It's no use. She doesn't want to see you at the moment, and trying to talk to her will make it worse."

I sighed and my face felt wet. A rather large hand appeared on my shoulder, and I looked up to find Liam staring at me intently. "I'll go and speak to her, Susie. I'll make sure she listens to me."

Niall nodded, "Work some of your charm. It's really needed right now."

Liv's POV

I couldn't believe Susie had betrayed me like this. There was nothing worse than trusting your best friend, then getting everything thrown back in your face.

So I went to the spare room and crawled in between the two double beds, certain that nobody would find me with the lights off.

Unfortunately, somebody did, and that somebody was not a somebody I would like to be seeing right this minute. It was Liam.

He crawled into the gap and edged closer until I put out a hand to stop him. "Don't. Please, just go. I want to be left alone. Please, Liam."

He didn't go. I sat there and closed my eyes, praying that if I sat there long enough without saying anything, Liam would get up and leave.

But he never did. The guy wasn't even looking at me anymore, just staring straight ahead. I could feel the mascara dripping down my cheeks, but at that moment, I didn't care. Nothing could make me care again.

I waited for ten more minutes before I couldn't take it any more. I turned to him and sighed. "I met Harry at a party."

Liam's eyes stared straight ahead and I continued, "It was before Harry went on the X Factor, the summer holidays. Susie, Annabel and Zara were away with their families and I couldn't get in touch to tell them about Harry and I getting together." I took a deep breath before carrying on. "He told me he loved me. And the stupid thing was, I loved him too. I loved him so much it hurt and I could never be apart from him. Harry made me happy and I thought we were going to be together always. But he left me." A lone tear trickled down my cheek. "The day after he got me pregnant."

I felt Liam's soft arms around me. "I'm so, so sorry."

"I was sixteen, Liam. Sixteen."

"Did he know that you were pregnant?"

I shook my head. "No. I found out two weeks after he left me."

"What did you do?"

I took a deep breath, "I had to get parental consent before I had an abortion. My parents and I haven't had the best of relationships since."

Liam sighed and I rested my head on his shoulder. "I never told my friends though. It would have been too awful and embarrassing, and I knew I would never see Harry again. That is until he auditioned for the X Factor."

The boy next to me stopped stroking my hair and spoke up again. "I think you are an incredibly brave girl, Liv. But, please, don't take it out on the whole of One Direction just because of Harry. Also, Liv, Harry's changed. Do you think you could give him a chance?"

Did he actually just say that? "What?! You're telling me to give him a chance after I told you all this? Look. I'll give you and the other boys a chance, because Susie likes you, and she needs some happiness right now. But I'm telling you now, I'll never trust Harry again. Got it?"

Liam nodded meekly and I felt happier after telling him everything. Maybe One Direction weren't as bad as I first thought?

So, there we have it. You found out why Liv knows Harry. I'm not overall happy with this chapter, but i couldn't find another way to explain what happened. Sorry if you thought it wasn't very good.

love you all xxxx
