It All Started With A Brownie

Actually, it starts with two.
Susie gets up one morning and makes a load of brownies. 250, in fact. She and her friends don't know what to do with them so they decide to sell them - outside their apartment. A guy comes along, hood up, blue eyes and soft blonde hair. He keeps his face hidden, but when Susie sees him properly, it's Niall Horan, her celebrity crush. Can Susie keep her secret hidden from her friends, or will the truth come out?

34. Locked Out

Sorry sorry sorry this is so late!!!! Heyy guyysss, hope you like this chapter!! Next one is when they go off to Japan YAY!!

Liv's POV

It's less than a week till Japan and today I went shopping to get some good clothes and evening dresses to wear to One Direction's gigs.

Yesterday, I met up with Liam again and we had a really great time. Liam's never been to Madame Tussaud's properly before, as the last time he went, it was just to look at 1D's wax figures, so I took him on a tour.

It was a great day, and we even surprised a few fans. I took the pictures for Liam, and some of the fans recognised me, just a few.

So, I'd just got back from shopping in Westfield, when I realised that I didn't have the front door key to the apartment block. Ringing on the buzzer to our apartment on the third floor, I waited patiently.

And I waited...

And I waited...

And I waited...

And finally, when I couldn't be bothered to stand up and wait any more, I sat down on the cool stone steps and sighed.

I was locked out.

Getting my phone out, I dialled Zara, Susie and Annabel's numbers. Zara's phone was off, Annabel was an hour away in Marlow and Susie was busy visiting her parents again.

I was starting to need the toilet.

Okay, other options?

Perrie and Eleanor.

Nope, their phones went straight to voicemail.

Liam? In the studio, rehearsing.

Louis? In the studio, rehearsing.

Niall? In the studio, rehearsing.

Zayn? In the studio rehearsing.

And if you can't guess what Harry was doing, he was in the studio too. Rehearsing.

So, unless I wanted to wait another three hours for one of the girls to come back, I was going to have to...

Oh dear.

I was going to have to phone Danielle...

"Umm, hi, yeah, it's me Danielle. It's Liv."

"Yup, that's my name."

"Um, why did you call?"

Her 'nice' voice sounded so fake to my ears. Could she not just sound a teeny weeny bit happier to speak to me?

"Yeah, um, unfortunately I forgot my apartment block key and I've been sitting out here for over three quarters of an hour. Do you think I could come somewhere with you?"

"Er, is there no coffee shops nearby you could wait in?"

"No, none."

An awkward pause settled.

"Okay, I'm coming to pick you up."

Putting down the phone, I breathed a sigh of relief that my conversation with her was finally over...oh, and the fact that I wouldn't have to sit out here any longer.

I waited until Danielle's silver Mercedes pulled up in front of the apartment before standing up and hugging her, a little awkwardly.

"How are you, Liv?"

Thank God she didn't use my full name, I might have just murdered her.

"I'm good thanks, how are you?"

"Oh, tired from dancing and all that, but we'll go back to Liam and I's apartment. He won't mind."

I nodded. "Sure."

Hopping in the passenger seat of the car, Danielle drove off and started up the conversation.

"Are you glad you're not sitting out on the front porch any more?"

I smiled a little. "Definitely. But it was good practise for the Hunger Games, so that's all right."

Danielle stopped at a red traffic light and turned to stare at me blankly. "Sorry?"

"Well, you know...I was like, out in the cold with no shelter, food or drink..."

I was met with a blank stare.

"And I had to adapt..."

Another blank stare.

"To the front garden..."

The lights turned green once again and Danielle started to drive off, still not saying anything.

Such a social butterfly.

"So, how's Liam?" I asked, after arriving at the apartment and getting out in total silence.

Danielle whirled around to face me. "Why do you want to know about MY boyfriend all the time?!" She snapped.

My eyes welled up, but her face didn't change emotion.

"You always, always spend time with him! I hardly ever see Liam anymore. Because guess what? He's always with you!"

I shrunk away from this angry girl. She was- I- I'd never seen Danielle like this, what?!

She continued. "I love Liam, he's the best thing that's ever happened to me. Would you stop just trying to steal him away from me?"

I got the courage to speak up. "Danielle. I'm 19, you're 25. I'm sure Liam much prefers an older, mature girl like you. And, FYI, if you really loved Liam, you'd let him spend time with his FRIENDS. I'm just his friend, Danielle, his friend, and if you can't just accept that for once and for all, then maybe I should leave."

Turning back around, I stormed off down the road, hailing a cab as I went.

"Wait, Olivia, wait!"

Oh, now she's really done it.

"What, Danielle, what?"

"I didn't really mean it like that, I-"

My voice softened. "Danielle, it's obvious you don't like me. You never really have, and you don't accept me as a friend of Liam's. Just, just leave me alone, and I'll do the same for you."

The girl's face hardened. "Fine." She hissed. "If that's how you want to play it."

I shrugged at her appalling attitude and waved goodbye, before jumping in the cab that had just pulled up. Mumbling my address, I realised what I'd be going back to.

Sitting on the front porch.

And by the time I got home, it had started to rain.

Such a great day.

A bit later, the girls all came back and let me in.

Okay, I lied, it wasn't a bit later.

It was a lot later.

Um, three and a half hours to be precise...

Susie cooked up dinner and we all sat down at the table, grinning at finally having the company of each other for once.

"It's so good that we're all together." Zara murmured when we tucked into our food, and everyone nodded in agreement.

"I know, I've kinda missed you guys." I smiled round at my friends.

"Mm, we're always with other people, never just us." Annabel smiled sadly and helped herself to more boiled potatoes.

"Shall I put some music on?" Zara asked with a mischievous smile and I sighed.

It was gonna be her favourite song.

"Is 'Talk Dirty To Me' okay?" She asked sheepishly and we all groaned.

However, when she turned the music on, we got up and launched into song.

"I'm that flight that you get on, international.

First class seat on my lap girl, ridin' comfortable.

Cos I know what the girls them need, New York to Haiti.

I got lipstick stamps on my passport.

You make it hard to leave." Zara shouted in a not particularly good singing voice and everyone laughed, joining in for the chorus.

"Been around the world don't speak the language,

but your booty don't need explaining.

All I really need to understand is:

When, you... Talk Dirty To Me."

Prancing around the room whilst pretending to play saxophones was hilarious and after the song, we all collapsed in a heap on the floor.

"That was great guys!" Annabel's eyes shined brightly.

"Yeah, it was fun." Susie commented, and turned on Wrecking Ball, whizzing round on a chair and pretending to be a, well, a wrecking ball.

"I'm so glad we met the boys." I whispered once the song had finished and the girls all stared at me.

I blushed and Annabel giggled.

"So, you like Harry now?" Zara looked so happy and I didn't want to spoil it, but-

"Umm... Not exactly..."

After several rounds of 'Would You Rather', 'Truth' and 'Snog, Marry, Avoid', Susie made us hot chocolate with marshmallows and I got out the popcorn.

Zara picked out the movie, 21 Jump Street, and we snuggled up on the couch with blankets and cushions smothering us.

The film was hilarious, as it is every time, and we all gushed at Channing Tatum's good looks and amazingly hot body.

After the film, we had a massive popcorn fight.

Yes, it was really good fun, but the downside after any popcorn fight is that you have to clean it up after.

"I saw Danielle today..." I started.

The girls heads snapped towards me, looking shocked.

"Uh... It was nothing really, she just picked me up and we got in a little bit of an argument because she shouted at me about Liam. I- It's gonna be really awful in Japan, as seeing them together is kinda hard, especially when Dani shows off and stuff. And now that we've had an argument..."

Susie rubbed my arm soothingly and I lay down so that my head was on her lap.

"Don't worry, Liv." Zara said quietly. "I'm sure if you just keep out of each other's way then everything will be fine."

I nodded and turned to Annabel, wanting to change the subject suddenly. "So, Annabel? How's RADA this term?"

Her hazel eyes shone. "Ah, it's absolutely brilliant, you'd love it, Liv. The other day our headmistress sort of person said that makeup classes were going to be starting. I'm definitely going to sign up, I've always wanted to do that!"

Zara nodded excitedly, "I'm sure it will be amazing. That's great they're putting those classes in there."

The conversation slowly came to a halt and I closed my eyes. It was almost two in the morning and the girls had Uni in the afternoon. I had work too, but I didn't need to go into the offices for it, my managers agreed to let me work from home.

"I'm gonna go to sleep now, guys. Maybe we all should?"

The others nodded sleepily and I dragged Annabel off to her bedroom. "Night night." She whispered and I hugged her softly.

"Under a week to go till Japan, babe, just under a week. Now you get some rest and I'll see you in the morning."

"Night, Liv."

"Night, Annabel."

I walked slowly back to my room, saying goodnight to Zara and Susie on my way, before changing into my PJ's and crashing on my bed.

Liam was with Danielle, and it was obvious that she would never let him out of her sight.

Something painful pinched my heart and I sighed.

Why was I starting to fall for the boy who had a girlfriend? Just my luck, huh?

Soo, did ya likey? If you did please just take literally fifty six seconds out of your life to type a comment and submit, it would mean an awful lot!
