It All Started With A Brownie

Actually, it starts with two.
Susie gets up one morning and makes a load of brownies. 250, in fact. She and her friends don't know what to do with them so they decide to sell them - outside their apartment. A guy comes along, hood up, blue eyes and soft blonde hair. He keeps his face hidden, but when Susie sees him properly, it's Niall Horan, her celebrity crush. Can Susie keep her secret hidden from her friends, or will the truth come out?

18. Good news

Well hello, there! I am extremely sorry for the late update, but basically, it was end of term (have a great summer), and I was so focused on all my activities, thinking I would have time to write on Saturday. But then it was Regatta and I stayed out till midnight watching fireworks and stuff. Then Sunday was still Regatta and ANDY MURRAY WON WIMBLEDON YAHOOOOOO, BRITAIN HASN'T WON WIMBLEDON FOR 77 YEARS!!!!!

So, yeah, I'm very, very sorry, but that was my excuse, and here is an earlier update for this week :)

Liv’s POV

“So, how did it go?” Liam asked.

It was Monday morning and we had met up at the park, wanting a bit of fresh air. The sun was out, unusual for England, and the only thing I couldn’t get my head around, was why Harry had professed his love for me.

“Um…” My heart was telling me that I should tell him, that he would comfort me, protect me, be a good friend and help me through it. I knew all of this, I could picture the scene now, all the warm hugs I would receive. But my head was telling me no. What if he confronted Harry? I didn’t want any friction to come between them, they were band mates after all, and I had a feeling that Harry would try and convince Liam that he had changed. But how could he have changed? Harry was just a stupid, annoying guy that got scared at the first sign of danger. Pathetic, really, how all his fans believed he was perfect and fangirled about him all the time.

“You two friends again?” Liam pushed me and I winced inwardly.

“Great!” Liam jumped up from the swing and ran over to give me a hug. I swear he loves hugs, this guy.

Feeling slightly guilty, I hugged Liam back and then looked down.

“We’re kind of, on the same track now. I still don’t trust him much, but I’ll try and make an effort to be nicer so it’s not as awkward.”

“Good idea. I hate it when you fight.”

I nodded and tried to change the subject. “So, how’s Danielle?”

“She’s doing okay. I haven’t seen much of her, but we’re getting there with the tour thing.” He brushed a hand through his short hair, and sighed. “Look, Liv, I’ve got something to tell you.”

“We’re trying to get management to agree to let us take some people on tour with us. For example, I’d love to take Danielle, and Zayn and Louis want their girlfriends with them as well. Niall will probably insist on Susie coming, and we’d all love you, Annabel and Zara to be there, seeing as you’re such good friends with us.”

I smiled gratefully at Liam. He was always thinking about other people. “That would be amazing! I would love to come on your tour with you and the boys, even if Harry’s going to be there.”

“I thought you two were friends now?”

“Okay, well, I’ll see what I can get management to do. Sorry if they don’t let us, but seriously, we’ve been working with them for three years now, they need to cut us a bit of slack.”

I nodded in agreement. It was strange how their management was so strict all the time. Surely being kinder to the boys would make them more willing to work?

“Where are you going on your tour?” I asked.

Liam thought for a moment before telling me that they were going to America first for four weeks. My heart did a little dance when he mentioned we would have plenty of time for sightseeing, as I had never been to America before, but had fantasised as a young girl about the places I would go if I got the chance.

“That sounds amazing. I really hope we can all come.”

Liam grinned and pulled me in for a hug. “Me too. Now, how about a go on the slide?”

I cheered and jumped off the swing, racing Liam over to the slide and scrambling up the steps to get to the top.

After our fun escapade to the park, Liam regretfully told me that he had to go to the studios. “I’ve had a great day, though. Thanks, Liv.”

I waved him off, “Anytime.”

After Liam left, I sat on one of the park benches, thinking about Harry. I was worried that he would try and win me back, not just as a friend, but maybe something more? What if I fell for his charms again? He would only hurt me, over and over again. I suddenly wished that I had just told him to keep his distance from me, not that he had lost my friendship and trust, because obviously, now, he was going to try and get them back.

If I just stayed away from him, ignored him, spoke to him in a monotone-y kind of voice, he would lose interest and give up. But even as I thought this, I knew it wouldn't be possible. Harry wasn't one to give up on a challenge, and I considered myself a big challenge. I mean, he made me kill an innocent baby!

Feeling the tears welling up in my eyes and the horrible, guilt rising in my stomach, I choked the remorse back down and wiped angrily at my eyes.

Stupid, stupid Harry.

There was definitely no way I was ever going to trust him again. Never.

"Hey, Liv." Annabel greeted me after opening the door of the apartment. "How's Liam?"

"He's doing okay. And the good news I have for you is that we may be going on tour with the boys in spring next year !"

Annabel's face lit up. "Really? Wow, that sounds amazing!"

I smiled at her, it was great to see her looking so happy.

Confusion passed across Annabel's face for a second. "But what about Uni? I've only done one year at RADA, and I have three left. They wouldn't let me leave, and to be honest, I don't really want to sacrifice my acting career and education for going on tour with a boy band."

My heart sunk in my chest as I realised what she was saying. We all had to go to Uni, even me, and even though the company that I worked for was flexible, they definitely would not let me go. "Oh. I completely forgot about that, I'm really sorry, Annabel. Don't worry about it, I'll tell Liam that there's no way we can go. I mean, we'd have to leave our family and friends behind anyway. That would be really sad."

She nodded slowly, "How did Liam get permission for us to come anyway?"

"He thought that management would let them take some people along, but to be honest, why would they? Even if they allow the boys to take their girlfriends, they wouldn't let us go. I mean, we're just their frineds!"

Annabel smiled and looked as if she was hiding something. "Actually..."

I pounced on her, "What?"

"Susie and Niall..."

My eyes widened. "Oh my God. Tell me no. Oh wow. Oh my." I stopped myself before any more gibberish came out, and tried to start again. "They're together?"

Annabel nodded proudly and I clapped a hand to my mouth. "Yahoo!"

Even if Susie was dating a close friend of Harry's, I was still really happy for her. Whenever she was with Niall, she always lit up and couldn't stop smiling. They flirted together without realising it, and when I had heard about the date Niall took Susie on... Wow. Buckingham Palace, the London Eye? I was speechless. He must really like her.

"Aw, Annabel, I'm so pleased for her! That's really great news. I know, let's set up a little welcoming thing for when she gets home. Like a little 'congratulations' party." I suggested, already excited at the prospect of a party.

"Amazing idea, Liv. Right, we have two hours. Let's do this thing!"

Have a great summer if you are on Summer holidays, just to let you know I will not be able to update next week for two weeks because I am away.

See you soon! Love, Liv xxxx
