It All Started With A Brownie

Actually, it starts with two.
Susie gets up one morning and makes a load of brownies. 250, in fact. She and her friends don't know what to do with them so they decide to sell them - outside their apartment. A guy comes along, hood up, blue eyes and soft blonde hair. He keeps his face hidden, but when Susie sees him properly, it's Niall Horan, her celebrity crush. Can Susie keep her secret hidden from her friends, or will the truth come out?

38. Found

So, my apologies for the lateness, I had to revise for tests and controlled assessments and stuff this week, so it's extremely late, I am so, so sorry!

After this, only two chapters left! "Awwh nooo!" I hear you cry. Yep, no.

Liv's POV

The missing items still have not been found. I can't believe someone would do such a thing, and I definitely can't believe one of my friends would have done it.

It must be someone in the hotel.

We went down to reception after a late lie-in, Susie still excited at going to live with Niall in his apartment. They are so happy together and it lightens my heart whenever I see them joking around. Susie has never been this happy in a long time, not even when Max was around, and her parents seem to adore Niall as well, which makes everything perfect for the couple.

Seeing as Susie is moving out, the rent is going to become too expensive for only three of us to share it out, so after a discussion last night back in the hotel bedroom, the girls and I think we should rent Susie's room out. It will be sad to see my friend not living with us anymore, but I know that her and Niall will make things work and she'll be content in her relationship.

However, things aren't going so great for me. I want to be with Liam, and my crush develops more and more each day that passes.

Danielle is pretty much ignoring me, apart from when she asked me if I'd seen anyone suspicious, which I hadn't.

There's something slightly odd about the situation, though I can't quite put my finger on it...

"How may I help?" The reception lady, a pretty English girl called Phoebe asks as we all crowd around the front desk.

Liam coughs and speaks up. "We're here to report some missing items that were stolen yesterday and the day before."

Phoebe frowns and gets out a notepad. "And what would these items be?"

"A Chanel perfume bottle, a Pandora necklace, a gold Rolex watch and a silver infinity ring." Liam replies and Phoebe tells us that she'll be back in a moment.

A couple of minutes later the girl comes back and shakes her head. "Sorry, none of the items you listed have been recorded in lost property."

Louis fold his arms across his chest. "What do you suppose we do then?"

"The Presidential Suite that you all have rooms in means that you have access to each other's rooms by one key issued to each of you at the beginning of your stay. I suggest that you do a thorough check through of everyone's rooms, just in case someone took an item to borrow and forgot about it."

I glanced around at everyone and we nodded together, agreeing that this would be the best thing before calling the police and having cleaners or maids interrogated.

Joining Annabel and Zara on the way up, I whispered. "Do you think we'll find everyone's stuff?"

Zara shrugged. "I don't know, but I really hope so. All the things that have gone missing are really important to the people who own them, and I'd be distraught if I lost something as valuable as that."

Annabel nodded and sighed, and we carried on walking to our bedroom in silence.

Once we got to the suite where all the bedrooms were situated, the search begun.

Searching through Louis and El's bedroom first, we came up with nothing. After that, Danielle's, Perrie's and Susie's rooms. Still nothing.

By the time we had collapsed onto Susie and Niall's sofas, feeling depressed and tired, it was time for lunch.

Instead of going out with all the paparazzi waiting for the boys, Zayn decided to phone room service and we had a big buffet.

After lunch, nobody moved from their seats, as we all felt that the search was hopeless. There was only one room left to look in, ours, and all of us knew for a fact that none of the items would be in there. We just weren't the type of people to go into somebody else's room and take their stuff.

Getting up from the beanbag she was on, Annabel went to join Perrie and Eleanor on the floor, playing copy the leader. We laughed and the atmosphere lightened when all three did weird actions and leg movements.

Suddenly there was a loud rip and Annabel gasped, glancing down at her favourite pair of jeans and screaming. "My jeans! They're ruined and I didn't bring any others to wear!"

The position she had been balancing in had caused the jeans to split down the middle. Pretend sobbing on the floor, I patted her back.

Danielle looked over at Annabel's jeans and turned to me. "Didn't you bring loads of jeans along Olivia?"

I nodded cheerfully and turned back to my friend. "Don't worry Annabel, you can borrow a pair if you like? They're in the bottom drawer of my wardrobe. I haven't worn any of the jeans yet, so they are all clean, don't worry."

Annabel grinned delightedly, bounding out of the room and leaving our chuckling selves behind.

Playing Murder in the Dark instead while we waited for Annabel to come back was much more fun, as it included everybody.

Several times Harry winked at me throughout the game, even though he wasn't the murderer, and it annoyed me. Our relationship was over and I didn't like him, so he had no right to wink at me!

However, no talking in the game was allowed so I didn't dare say anything, for fear of being disqualified.

Fifteen minutes later, Annabel came back with tears in her eyes. In her hands were the four missing items.

Shocked gasps came from us, including me, and I asked the dreaded question.

"Where did you find them, Annabel?"

Her watery eyes hardened and narrowed at me. A shiver flew down my spine and in that moment I knew what had happened.

"You, Olivia, have a lot of explaining to do. They were where you kept your jeans, right at the bottom of the pile."

Glancing around at the others, my eyes landed on Danielle and the hint of a smirk on her face told me enough. "It wasn't me." I started. "But I think it was Danielle..."

Liam strode up to me and pushed my shoulder roughly, the anger and disappointment in his eyes clear enough for any fool to see. "Don't you dare Olivia. Don't you bloody well dare! Taking all our most treasured possessions and then blaming it on my innocent girlfriend? That's cruel and you know it!"

I gaped at him. "You truly believe I took those things?"

His hands clenched and unclenched several times before he took a step back and shook his head in disbelief. "Oh you clever, clever girl, I know exactly how you did it as well."

"Really? Enlighten me Liam." My voice dripped with sarcasm. His words hurt me and I was fighting hard to bite back the tears that threatened to escape any second now.

"While we were out shopping and you were supposedly in bed being 'sick', you must have taken my watch, Susie's necklace and the perfume, using the key to get into our rooms."

Shaking my head slowly, I was about to deny this when he continued.

"And then when you went out for a 'run' and Eleanor and Louis were out sightseeing, you went into their rooms and got the promise ring. It's obvious you've just been using us. That's sick Olivia, I can't believe you'd do it and then put the blame on my lovely girlfriend! All you have been doing this week is try to tell me that she's being mean to you-"

"Because she is!"

"No Olivia, no I'm not." Danielle stood up and I turned to my friends desperately.

"Tell them girls, I'd never do something like this, would I? And Danielle WAS being nasty to me, I told you myself!"

Zara's eyes slid down to the floor. "I'm sorry Liv, I don't really know what to think. The items were found in your drawer and you were the only one away from us a lot of the time. I-I'm disappointed in you."

My breathing began to get faster and I tried to search the faces of all my friends, but they either turned away or stared at me coldly.

The last person I came to was Harry. He was frowning, and slowly got up, walking over to me. "Guys, I know Liv. She wouldn't do something like this. She's not that sort of person, are you really going to believe that this girl stole all your things?"

I stayed calm but inside I was confused and angry. How come the only person who believed that I wouldn't do something like this was Harry, the person I hated the most in here?

"Fine, you know what?" I shouted angrily. "If you guys think that I'd lie about Danielle being a bitch to me and stoop so low as to steal your precious things, then I don't really know what to think any more. I'm packing my things and leaving. Goodbye."

Storming out of the room, I left everyone in stunned silence. I don't ususally shout, and that was probably the first time all of the boys had seen me mega angry.

I knew it was Danielle. It had to be.

But if my friends couldn't see my side of the story and jumped straight to wrong conclusions, then I couldn't call them friends anymore.

I leaned against the wall outside and got my breath back. Nobody came to reason with me or tell me it was all a joke. Nobody came to smile and say they didn't actually think it was me. No. They stayed in the room and carried on believing it was me.

So I packed. Just like I said I would, I packed and left as soon as I could.

But as I left the hotel in a taxi cab to go to a small bed and breakfast on the outskirts of the city, I realised what I had left behind.

Friends are things you have and treasure, things that you can't replace, and...

To me Liam was a bit more than a friend. However, I knew he would never return these feelings after thinking that I had stolen everyone's stuff. Maybe I should just give up, move on in my life, let him stay with the god awful girlfriend he was with and wish all the best  for him.

But the further away I got from the hotel room, with Liam and all my friends inside it, the bigger the hole seemed to tear in my chest.

And I knew that I wouldn't be able to forget him, not for a long time.

Just like Harry.

Harry...the only person who stood up for me...

Brushing the thoughts away, I stepped out the cab after paying the driver and checked in at the petite bed and breakfast, mentioning I would be here for four nights. I had no clue about how I was going to get home. We had come in a private jet, and there was no way I was getting on an enclosed, small plane with everyone's disappointed and narrowed eyes glaring at me. Nope, no way.

In fact... Reaching into my coat pocket, I pulled out the iPhone and turned it off, placing it at the bottom of my handbag.

The flight of stairs to the first floor seemed like the longest walk I had taken in my life, and when I finally got to the cosy, small room, I lay stretched out on the bed, tears trickling down my face.

Awwh, I'm finding this too sad right now :'(

And what is going on, right? The stolen items have been found...IN LIV'S CLOSET!! Soo, do you think she actually did it, or is she telling the truth? If so, who did do it, and is Liv's guess about Danielle correct, or a bit too far fetched? What do you think about Liam, was he right to get so angry? And do you ship Liv and Harry, or Liam and Liv?

Please comment, thanks guys, and sorry for the lateness, you can scream at me if you want...

Okay, see you soon, Liv xx
