The Husband Games

Every girl has dreamed of someday meeting One Direction, and having at least one of the band members fall in love with them. In all reality, it'll probably never happen.
One Direction's management has created a competition in hopes of making up for all of the 'wrongdoings' they have done in the boys' careers, and gaining support from Directioners everywhere.
It's called the Husband Games.
Ever since all of the boys have broken up with their girlfriends, they've been increasingly lonely, and it's taking its toll on their performances. Modest will accept twenty female applicants to attend a two month program that will shape them into ideal girlfriends-- and possible wives-- for the boys.
It all comes down to a final elimination at the end of the two month period, where the guys will select the girls of their dreams.
Who will it be?
And may the odds be ever in your favour.

2. Early Bird

Annalie's POV

"If we sign up early, we'll be more likely to be considered," Britta explained to me. She continued to ramble on, but I didn't catch half of what she said. The school bus bounced us around like ragdolls.

"Mm," I mumbled, too distracted by my fingernails.

"Are you even listening?" she elbowed me in the ribs.

"Yeah, of course," I lied.

"So what do you say?" she grabbed my hand. "Are you going to sign up with me?"

"I don't know..."

"I'll take that as a yes," she shrugged. "Sign ups are in a few days, so ask your parents ASAP."

"Oh, and prepare a resume to they don't think we're total wackos," she added.

"I'm starting to think you are," I muttered, slinging my backpack over my shoulder. The bus rolled to a stop, pulling up to our small school. Britta and I were both seniors, and it was Finals week. After finishing our semester exams, we'd be free from sitting in a dull classroom for eight hours.

I begrudgingly went through my tests. They were all easier than I expected, but it was just so boring. After I finished everything, I was excused from the classroom. When I stood, my tailbone ached horribly from the rigid plastic chair. I limped out the door, glancing at Britta, who wasn't finished yet, with a 'hurry up' sort of look. She winked, turning back to her test.

All of the students that had finished their tests were sent to the cafeteria to stay until everyone had completed their exams.

I took a seat awkwardly at the end of a table of popular girls. Britta was cool with everyone in the school, but I was more of the quiet one. The popular girls shot me strange looks, like they were judging every little element of my body. It made me cringe, leaning one of my elbows on the table to obscure my face. I was constantly insecure. Britta was flawlessly beautiful, with her dirty blonde waves of hair, reaching the center of her ribs and light brown eyes. She was just the perfect height, and not too skinny and not too large. She had the absolute perfect body; boys were falling at her feet.

I, on the other hand, was tall, scrawny, and dark-haired with light green eyes. My hair reached just about to my tailbone and was pencil-straight. I hated my face the most about myself. It was small and compact, my cheekbones were too steep, in my opinion, and my nose was too pointed. Britta always told me that I was the prettiest girl in the school, but I never believed her.

When I saw Britta emerge from the testing room, I sighed in relief. She jogged over to the table, taking a seat next to me.

"Are you excited for sign ups?" she squealed quietly.

"Who says I'm signing up?" I narrowed my eyes. "I'm not going to exploit myself like that."

"It's not exploiting yourself," she claimed.

"It's like a dating website, Briita," I retorted. "I don't think I'm okay with someone trying to change me so I can be good enough for some guy."

"But this isn't some guy!" she practically yelled. "This is One Direction we're talking about!"

I ignored her for a moment, thinking everything through. I pinched the bridge of my nose and sighed.

"You know what," I sighed. "Fine. I'll do it."

"Yay!" she cheered.

"But I'm not going to go anywhere in this competition," I pointed a finger in her face. "I'm probably going to get voted out within the first week."

"We'll see," she winked. "But I'm sure you'll go farther than me."

"Whatever," I looked away.

When the school day was over, all of the students screamed with delight and sprinted to the buses. I plopped into the space next to Britta and groaned.

"It's finally over," I laughed. "Summer-- finally."

"Yeah," she grinned. "This is going to be the best summer ever."
