Lionel Messi-Barcelona

Lionel Messi is arguably the world's number one footballer. He scores hundreds of goals in his career, but what happens when he is injured and Barcelona signs another world class player, Cristiano Ronaldo, to replace Lionel? Can Lionel ever get back to his best and beat his enemy Cristiano?

4. Crying Over The Facts

"Hi!" Cristiano greeted, as all of the Barcelona team all stood in a line outside of the stadium to meet the not-so-secret signing.

"Hello!" the team chorused, while I stood there, in utter silence.

"My old mate, Lionel!" Cristiano grinned, holding his out for me to shake, and I pretend to not to acknowledge him, looking at his flashy car.

"We're not friends," I said in a stern voice, then turning around and walking back towards the stadium. Cristiano muttered some words a bit too loud, so I could hear. "It's rude to talk behind people's backs," I mumbled to myself, holding back the tears that threatened to escape my eyes.

"Nice to meet you," Xavi said, smiling falsely, and I could just tell he wanted to go after me but Cristiano wanted to have a conversation with him. "I need the toilet," Xavi lied, then he ran after me, his hand grabbing my shoulder gently to make me turn around.  "Now, don't cry," he whispered, leading me inside.

"I wasn't crying," I fibbed, looking down at the ground, feeling ashamed.

"Y'know I knew you for years. Literally, I know you too well," Xavi chuckled, and he held open the players' entrance door for me. Shrugging the subject off, I walked in.

"You really don't know me that well if you think I'm crying," I said firmly, trying to show I wasn't weak.

"Come on.... Andres and I are your best friends. It's okay to cry," Xavi reassured me, gently pushing into a private room that had two black posh couches, opposite each other. A 30 inch plasma TV hung on the wall, and a big stereo quietly playing soothing music.

"I don't want to cry!" I protested, sitting down on one of the couches, and Xavi sat down on the other one, sighing.

"Why are you so upset about this transfer?" he questioned, frowning.

"Nobody likes being replaced...." I murmured, looking down at my bandaged leg.

"You're not the only person fighting for their place. Andres, you and I have to fight for our places because Cristiano can play in our positions," he explained his opinion, and I shrug again.

"What if I will never play again?" I asked, looking up as a tear rolled down my cheek. Xavi opened his mouth to say something, but he closes his mouth, looking down, and shaking his head.

"I don't know," he replied.
