3. sea shells, sea shells, on the sea shore

~Sora's POV~

I'm finally home. I'm finally back at Destiny Islands and I'm with my friends too. It has been a while since Riku, Kairi and I could be together like this. Even after everything that we have all been through, our great friendship was able to remain strong. We may have not seen eachother like this for a long time, but we don't seem to be talking much at all. I don't think it's neccessary. I mean, I want to remember this moment for as long as I live so it would be a shame to spoil it. I want to remember every detail; from the orange painted sky to the sandy beaches. Everything.

" Hey, Sora?" Kairi said, breaking the silence.
" Yeah what is it Kairi?"

" Well, do you remember what I said to you when I gave you my good luch charm? I asked ou to give it back to me when we met again. However, I want you to have it again." Kairi explained.

" No, I couldn't do that! That's your good luck charm. Not mine. It's very special to you Kairi, I just can't take it away from you." I exclaimed.

" Look Sora, our fight with Xemnas is not over. Soon, The Keyblade War will rise again and you'll need all the luck you can get! I want you to have it. And if you still refuse, just promise me that you'll return it when the war is over. Is that fair?" Kairi pleaded with anticipation.

" Kairi has a point there Sora. You'll be hopeless without that charm. I mean, I could kill Xemnas with one swipe with my keyblade without any good luck charms!" Riku laughed, teasingly.

I let out a small chuckle at Riku's teasing.
" Alright then, I'll take it Kairi but I promise you that I'l bring back to you safely! And with it, I'll have power that is even stronger than Riku's!" I laughed. Kairi and Riku chorused in with huge bursts of laughter too. It felt good to laugh like this. I felt at ease. It was like there was no raging war and Xemnas was really dead. However, you'll soon have to wake up to real life and face the music.

" I'm really sorry Sora but I've got to go home now. I'll see you tomorrow!" Kairi said as she jumped off the palm tree. She gave us a huge wave as she ran across the bridge.
" Yeah, I think I'll go home too. I'm shattered! You coming?" Riku asked.
" Nah, I think I'll stay here for a while." I said.
Riku ran up to to Kairi as I made my way down to the beach. I slumped down on the soft sand and watched the rays of sun dance across the rhythmic waves. As much as I hate to admit it, I know that the happiness I felt with my friends won't last forever. Soon I'll be back travelling worlds, training for the fight against the 13 members of darkness. I let out a huge sigh as I buried my head into my knees. I've been so lucky when fighting Xemnas but what if it changes this time? What if the tables turn and I end up losing? Maybe I do need Kairi's charm. I need to win this battle to save the people I care about. I stood up and looked across the horizon as my thoughts clouded my mind. I turned away from the ocean but something hard against my foot stopped me in my space. I looked down towards my feet to find a shell. A thelissa shell. Slowly and carefully, I reached down to the sandy ground and clasped my fingers around the shell; enclosing it from the outside world. That was when I saw her.

A picture of a girl, around my age with short, black hair popped up into my head. It gave me quite a shock at first, I ended up falling over in the gritty sand but the picures continued to flash in my head. Unfortunatly, the pictures were too blurred to see her closely but she does seem awfully familiar. The pictures flashed by and soon enough, I was left with the thelissa shell still held in my hand. what was that? I then noticed a small tear drop rolling down my face and a strange pang of devastating emotion. Does this girl mean something to me? Do the pictures have any link to the shell? It's hard to explain but, this shell seems very special but I don't know why! Maybe a good night's sleep will help me solve my un-answered questions.

Even though I was left with the feeling of confusion, I was able to sleep as soon as my head touched the pillow.
