The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

A story following Link's adventure in the game 'The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.' I recommend that you don't read past the prologue if you don't want any spoilers from the game, and I also recommend buying the game because it is amazing, however you don't have to have bought it in order to read this!

1. Prologue

I tugged at Epona's reins that hung off her chestnut neck. The sunlight cast a radiant glow upon us as she tossed the upper half of her body  up towards the hazy orange sky. With a flick of her mane, we started galloping down the narrow stone path that towered above the canyon beneath us. I ducked a little as we briefly went through the archway that seems not to have any significant meaning other than for decoration. The path was long, the canyon was so far down below that if we were to trip, we would fall to our deaths and Epona's was going far too fast for our safety. But there was no we could stop. We couldn't stop. Not now.

The sound of the grass and Epona's hooves colliding echoed along the cliffs that surrounded Hyrule Field, and off  the mysterious castle that was looming over us. It's dark silhouette sent a small shiver down my spine, and made Epona recoil slightly. I reached over, and smoothed my hand over her silky soft fur in an attempt to soothe her. It worked. My eyes skimmed the horizon, as I'd lost sight of the direction we were going in whilst I was reassuring Epona. They widened in shock; we were at the brink of canyon. The sunlight shone directly over us as I pulled her reins in the opposite direction. I glanced over my shoulder for a split second, as the light seemed just a tad ominous to me...

My body shook with pain. I was transforming into something. Something. The sunlight was burning my flesh and changing my limbs, my torso, my face into something.

I opened my eyes, and saw that in front of me was a wall made up entirely of what seemed to be the sky. It had the same hazy quality of the sky, and had the same glow as the sun. An uncontrollable urge forced me tilt my head upwards, and howl a sorrowful howl into what was now the unknown.
