1. The legend of the lake

July 10, 2008.
Harry's POV
"Come on! Please?!" I begged Piper to come out to the lake. "Harry! We'll be late for dinner!" Piper tried to pull me back home. "No we won't! I promise!" I gave her my puppy dog face. "Fine Harry! Ugh, you know I'm a sucker for that face." She crossed her arms. "Works every time." I smiled and winked at her. "You know I hate going by this lake, Harry!" She began walking with me. "Yeah, I know. You'll just have to be Harry's brave little girl." I tugged on her cheek. "Harry! I'm serious! You know those stories!" She shouted. "Yeah, well suck it up." I said confidently. But to be honest, I wanted Piper to come because I was a little scared to go by myself. Legend has it, that a girl, Victoria, haunts the lake. She fell in and drown when she was 9. If you fall in the lake, for any reason, you disappear. You supposedly drown, but nobody ever finds your body. Pretty freaky stuff. So, Piper has told me a million times before that it scares her. Piper tells me lots of things, actually. Some stuff her parents don't even know. We're best friends. We do everything together. And, I love Piper. I love her more than just friends, but she'll never know. It was starting to get a little colder out. As we walked towards the lake I noticed Piper was shivering. "Piper, are you cold?" I asked her. "No, I'm fine." She said and kept on walking. I slipped my hoodie off and walked up behind her and pulled it over her head. "Thanks Harry." She smiled at me. "No problem Piper. You suck at lying though." I smirked at her. "Do not!" She shouted. "Do too!" I testified. We walked out of the woods and approached the lake. "Do what you wanna do Harry! I wanna leave!" Piper said coming by the water with me. "Don't fall in." I teased her. "Harry that's not funny!" She squealed. I shrugged. "I'll be waiting by the woods!" She said walking away. "Okay." I bent down and searched for a rock to skip. "AHHHH!" I heard Piper's scream echo across the lake. I immediately turned around and saw nothing. "PIPER?!" I screamed. I didn't get an answer. "PIPER?! Are you trying to scare me?! Well good job because its working!!" I shouted. I never got an answer. Piper wouldn't play a joke like this, the lake even scared her. So she wouldn't. And even if she did, she would have came out by now. "Piper!!!!! I'm going to get our parents! You're scaring me!! WHERE DID YOU GO?!" I shouted. All I heard back was the trees rattling. "PIPER IM GETTING OUR MUMS!" I screamed. Nothing. I ran as fast as I could through the woods. When I finally reached our road, I ran straight for Piper's house. I burst through the door. "Hi Harry! Where's Piper?" Her mum asked. "Harry, are-are you crying?" She walked over to me and rubbed my back. Now that she said it, I had felt the hot tears pouring out of my eyes. "Piper, s-she's g-gone!" I shouted. "Harry. Why do you mean she's gone?" Her mum had gotten very serious now. "W-we were by the lake, a-and she told me that she was going to go up by the woods to wait for me, and then she screamed, and when I turned around she was gone!" I explained. "Are you sure she isn't playing a joke on you?!" Her mum asked. "I'm positive. I told her I was coming to get you guys a-and she didn't say anything." I rubbed my face. "I'm calling the sheriff!" Her mum ran to the phone. "I'm going to get my mum!" I said and ran out the door.  I burst through my front door and explained everything to my mum. "Come on! We have to help them! Piper is like my 3rd child!" My mum said pulling my behind her back to Piper's house. We walked in (we are so close that's just what we do) and found Piper's mum getting off the phone. "The police are coming. Ohh my baby!" She held her face in her hands. My mum pulled her in for a hug, and rubbed her back. "It will be okay, Sarah. We'll find her! Don't worry!" She whispered. "Thanks Anne. You're a good friend." Just then the police showed up outside our houses. I ran out the door. I explained everything to the police  and they blocked off the lake as a crime scene area. They found nothing. There was no sign of Piper anywhere.

~2 Years later~

They hadn't found Piper. She was no where to be seen. After 2 years, nothing. I miss Piper, I miss her so much. I miss the way she used to smile when she seen me, her long brown hair that fell perfectly over her shoulders, the way her green eyes sparkled. I couldn't stop thinking about her. She has to be out there somewhere. She can't just fall off the face of the Earth. I used to cry, a lot. I had to move on, as much as it hurt, it had to be done. Maybe, we'll reunite someday. I always went to visit Piper's parents. I feel so so bad for them. They were having a rough time with Piper being gone. I got an audition for the x-factor coming up, so hopefully, I'll make it big. Then I can use all my money to track Piper down. I smiled at the thought.
