The Benefits Of Being A Weirdo

Well, this is my autobiography! My life is pretty weird so I thought to myself 'Hey, I find my life weird, so other people might enjoy it too!' because I do enjoy my life, I really do. So go ahead! Read all about the benefits (and...ummmm...not so beneficial benefits) of being a weirdo.

4. Being The Big Kids

Year 8, being the big kids! Of course this year would be more fun if everything didn’t get messed up.

My sister has had bipolar for a few years now and it’s been putting a lot of stress on my mum. Not to mention me! I know it sounds mean, but I always kind of hope she’s gone to a friends for the night so that she won’t yell at me!

At the start of year 8 all of our classes got jumbled up. I was pretty happy because I got to be with most of my friends. Looking at it now though, I think I’ll just call them my group because I was kind of a new edition and I still don’t really fit in, but it saves me from eating alone at lunch so I’m cool with it.

By now, I’ve gotten used to being a weirdo. I don’t mind people teasing me; I just sort of block it out. If fitting in is bleaching your hair and going to school caked in make-up I think I’ll pass.

The hardest and most confusing part of my last year at the weirdest school ever is definitely crushes. I got crushes all the time and I could never exactly explain why to the few people who I told; once I even had a crush on three people at the same time! But there’s something else kind of in this category that I’ll tell you in the next chapter.

Sometime in April, I started to notice weird things happening to me. When I was sitting down in lessons, I would notice that my heart was beating really fast for no reason. At first I thought that it might just be because I was sitting next to my current almost crush but it wasn’t. I told my mum and she got me to a doctor as soon as she could. I had a few blood tests but that night I got it really bad so I was rushed to hospital for a heart scan.
