Summer Island

This is a story about a girl named Megan spending the summer with her older sister. There, she meets Tyler.

I wrote this story a while ago, so it may not be the best written and story wise.

16. Epilogue

Michael and Liam ran into our room and landed with a thud on the bed. “Wake up Mommy and Daddy,” Liam, my four year said and tried to shake us awake.

“Come on! Santa visited!” Michael, my eight year old said and grabbed Liam and ran back into the living room.

Once they were gone, I turned and stared into those pale green eyes. I would never get sick of seeing those every morning. “Good morning.” I whispered and kissed him quickly.

I sat up but Tyler pulled me back down to snuggle beside me. He rubbed my neck with his face, and whispered, “Do we really have to get up?” He asked. I nodded and moved to get up, but Tyler planted a kiss on my back.

I grabbed my house coat from the backdoor and headed toward the living room. Tyler caught up to me and we both laughed at Liam and Michael. They’d sorted out the gifts into four piles. Liam pointed to one pile and said, “Mommy’s gift,” He pointed to the other pile. “Daddy’s gifts.”

I sat down beside mine, and looked at my two boys and nodded. They started to tare the paper apart and gaping at the gifts Santa brought them.

Once we finished opening gifts, I went into the kitchen to make some breakfast. Liam and Michael were playing with they’re gifts, and Tyler followed me into the kitchen.

He held out an envelope. I took it and smiled at him as I opened it. I smiled and shook my head at the picture.

It was the picture I’d taken of those two chairs by the beach years ago. The chair looked familiar with the sailboats at the top. I looked at Tyler and grinned. “Where did you find this?” I ask.

“I was looking through your camera, and saw that this was the only picture that looked out of place and I loved it, so I took it to get it developed.”

“I love it, thanks Ty.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and he pulled me close.

“Oh, and another gift I have is that we’re spending the night at a hotel. We need some alone time.”

“What about the kids?” I ask.

“Alex and Elliot are going to take care of them. It’s their turn to babysit my kids.” Tyler pulled me close and grinned at me.

    “I love you, Tyler.”

“As I love you, Megan.” Then he kissed me, and I melted just like I have for years.
