Summer Island

This is a story about a girl named Megan spending the summer with her older sister. There, she meets Tyler.

I wrote this story a while ago, so it may not be the best written and story wise.

Chapter 13

“Call me when you arrive on the other side. I’m really going to miss you Megan. I love you so much and I couldn’t be happier that you are my sister.” Alex pulled me into a hug and I knew she was trying not to cry.

I hugged her tightly back and looked at Elisa. She crying, so I picked her up and kissed her cheek. “I love you, Elisa, and I’ll be back soon. Promise.”

She held out her pinky finger, “Pinky promise?”

I wrapped my pinky around hers. “Promise.” I kissed her forehead and passed her to Alex.

I looked at Elliot and smiled. He pulled me into a hug. “You really are a good kid, Megan. Don’t hesitate to come back and visit, we’ll always be ready.” He gave me a soft smile and kissed my forehead like a big brother would do.

The horn honked, signalling the boat leaving in ten minutes. I started to grab my bag when my name was beginning called. Elliot wrapped an arm around Alex’s waist and pulled her close as they turned.

Abby came running out of the shadows and towards. “Megan!” she called again. I ran toward her and was suddenly caught in her hug.

“I thought I was late. I just came here to say goodbye and to call me in if you need anything.” Abby said, and gave me another hug.

“Will do Abs,” I replied. “I’ll miss you.”

We walked over to Alex and Elliot. “I think I should better go,” I said to them and started to pick up my bags.

I boarded the boat, giving my pass to the guard on the dock, and he let me threw. I looked back at everyone and waved. They waved and we all moved in our own directions.

Tyler sat on his bed, listening to Paisley go on and on about stuff he didn’t care about. All he could think about was Megan. He wanted to call her, but stopped knowing she wouldn’t answer.

He rubbed his face with his hand, knowing how disgusted he was with himself. Why didn’t he just push Paisley away when she kissed him? Why didn’t he tell her off? The entire time he was with Paisley, all her could see were Megan’s bluish-gray eyes staring back into his.

Paisley was nothing like her. Megan was the love of his life. That would never change. From the first moment he laid eyes on her picture, he felt like he’d known her his whole life. When she showed up on that day, running him while running, and looking into those eyes that he’d stared into while babysitting Elisa, he knew he loved her.

Tyler got up and looked at Paisley. She stopped talking. She stood up as well. “What is it, sweetie?” she put a hand on his arm. He shook it off.

    “Get out.” He mumbled.

    “What?” She asked.

“I said get out. You’re not mine, and I’m not yours. My heart belongs to another girl.”

Paisley didn’t say anything, just walked out of his room and down the stairs. He heard the front door slam. He sat on his bed, and after a moment, he got an idea. He took the sketch book off the table, and ran down the stairs and into his car.

He stayed at the speed limit, but he still was getting the adrenaline rush. He pulled up to Alex’s house, and ran to the door. He rang the door bell and waited impatiently, the sketch book weighing a ton.

Elliot opened the door and before he could say anything, Tyler said, “I’m so sorry about the way I’ve acted against Megan. I knew I should have called but I didn’t. Can I see her to apologize?”

Elliot laughed like it was an inside joke. “You’re too late.” He said.

Tyler’s heart dropped. “What do you mean, too late?”

“Megan left. She left a few hours ago.”

Tyler felt like he had died. “W-what? W-why?” He couldn’t breathe.

“She left because it was too much to handle with you. She was supposed to stay for two weeks, her birthday is on the second, but she went home early.” He shrugged.

Tyler backed away from the door, surprised her could even walk. “Well, thanks Elliot. And let me know when Elisa needs a babysitter.”

“Will do. Take care, Tyler.” Elliot waved and closed the door. Tyler turned, but couldn’t walk. He sat on the front step and felt a tear leave his eye.

“Damn it,” He cursed. He finally got up after a moment and got into his car. Once he was home, he slammed his head against the steering wheel and cursed himself again.

Why had he let Megan go? Megan had taken a piece with him, but no matter how hard he thought, he knew he didn’t want that piece back. It’d always belong to her and no one else.

He needed to get her back. Then he got an idea and headed toward the store he’d been in before. As he looked he found the perfect thing to give to Megan for her to forgive him. Now all he had to do was think about how to give it to her.
