Summer Island

This is a story about a girl named Megan spending the summer with her older sister. There, she meets Tyler.

I wrote this story a while ago, so it may not be the best written and story wise.

10. Chapter Ten

Chapter 10

“I’m so sorry I yelled at you, Tyler.” I said.

“It’s okay.” Tyler had found me in the middle of the trail, crying, so he just brought me back to the shack.

“I don’t know what came over me.” I said into his chest.

He rocked me back and forth. “It’s okay, Megan.”

And we spent the next few hours holding each other, not saying anything. I loved Tyler more than anything and if anything got in the way of that, they’d have to go through me.

A few hours later, we pulled up in front of a shop. “What are we doing here?” I asked him.

“I don’t know,” He said innocently.

I giggle and hit his arm. “What are we really doing?” I ask.

He shrugged and got out of the car. I followed him and before I knew it, I was in a shop full of candy.

I gaped at him. “Seriously? Are you going to fatten me up, and then feed me?” I ask.

He shook his head, “Nope. I just knew from when your sister talked about you, that you like candy.” He squeezed my waist before going to talk to the person behind the counter

I walk around, carefully like someone walking around in a mine field. Then I spotted it. Peanut butter filled chocolate. I looked back at Tyler, but he was talking to the person behind the counter.

I put some in a bag, and walked toward them. The guy behind the counter liked like he was in his 40’s, gray was seeping into his near black hair, then I saw he had pale green eyes identical to the ones I’ve stared into numerous times.

“Megan, this is my Dad. Dad, Megan.” He smiled, and we awkwardly shook hands over the counter.

“So, this is the girl my son has been talking about. Well aren’t you a pretty thing. Tyler talks about you a—” His Dad stopped mid-sentence because of the look Tyler was giving him.

He grinned at me, then looked at his Dad. “All we came here was for candy, not for you to embarrass me. Come on, Megan.” Tyler urged.

Tyler took my hand and started to pull me to the door. “Don’t we have to pay for this?” I held up the bag. He shook his head.

Just before we left, Tyler’s Dad yelled, “Megan, don’t go breakin’ my boy’s heart. He loves you too much.” Then the door closed.

I looked at Tyler once we got into the car, and he shook his head. He pulled out of the parking spot and moved on to the street. “What did your Dad mean by ‘he loves you too much’?”

He gave a nervous laugh, “You heard that?”  I nod. “It means. . .” He stopped and he pull over to the side of the empty street. He turned to me. “It means that I love you, Megan.”

I shivered, and goose bumps appeared on my arms. “I really do, Megan. And it’s okay if you don’t.” He started to back to the windshield. I put a hand on his cheek, and turned his face to mine.

“I love you too.” And I kissed him.
