A New Love

A meet and greet that becomes so much more for two young girls. Together they find a new love with the boys.

37. Real Bloody Bad

*At The Hospital*

Nicole's POV

We arrived at the hospital, and of course, Lou was a wreck.

“Babe, you need to calm down.” I said holding his hand.

“My little 16 year old sister is in labor! I can't calm down.”

“She's ok, Lou.”

“Charlotte Tomlinson's room please.” He said to the nurse at the front desk.

“She's in room 946.” The nurse said smiling.

“Thank you!” I said as Louis dragged me behind him.

We got to Lottie's room and Lottie was the only person in there.

“Lottie? Where is everyone?” I asked walking into her room.

“Mum had to take the girls home, Andy had to get off work, so he should be on his way.”

“Well we're here for you.” Louis said taking his sister's hand.

“Lou, it hurts. It hurts really bad.”

“Shh. I know! But just think soon you'll be a mum!” He said kissing her forehead. He was such a sweet big brother. And I knew eventually he'd make a great dad.

“I can't do this!” She screamed.

“Lottie, I have faith in you. You can get through this, and at the end of everything you'll have a beautiful baby boy!” I said holding her other hand.

“Hello Ms. Tomlinson. How are you?” The doctor said walking in her room.

“It hurts so bad. If I would have known how bad this really hurt I wouldn't of ever had sex. Everyone says it hurts, but they never tell you just how flippin' bad!”

“I know. I'm going to see how far along you are so if you two would kindly step out of the room. It'll only be a minute.” She said gesturing to Lou and I.

We left the room and about a minute later she came out to get us.

“So you're about 5 centimeters dilated. If you would like we can give you the epidural now.”

“YES!” She screamed anxiously.

“Alright, I'll send in the anesthesiologist. This will also help you get a little bit of sleep before you have to push.”

“Thank you!” She smiled.

“Shouldn't Andy be getting here soon?” I asked Lottie.

“I would think so. And I'm really sorry about taking you away from your friends wedding.”

“Don't worry about it! I'm gonna go grab chocolate or something from the gift shop, want anything Lou?”

“I'm alright, thanks love.”

“Alright! I'll be back.”

The hospital only had one gift shop, and it closed in five minutes, so I made perfect timing. I got my chocolate and left, however on my way back I noticed some EMT's bringing in someone who looked oddly familiar. I ran over to the EMT's who had stopped to inform the doctors what happened. Oh my god. I instantly knew who it was. Andy. Lottie's Andy.

“Ma'am we need you to back away please.” One of the EMT's said to me.

“This is my sister's boyfriend.” I figured sister sounded better than sister in law and she basically was a sister to me.

“You're not immediate family, we can't release anything to you. I'm sorry.”

“Did you call his parents?”

“No. That's not our job.” An EMT said snidely.

I pulled out my phone and dialed Lou.

“Hey love! Where are you? Lottie got her epidural.”

“I'm with Andy.”

“Great! Bring him up with you.”

“Darling, Andy was in an accident. The EMT's brought him.

“Oh no.”

“I know, and since I'm not immediate family they won't tell me anything.”

“I'll be right down.”

Louis was down with me in about a minute.

“What'd you tell Lottie?”

“I told her that I'd be right back, and that I had something to take care of. I think she was going to try and sleep anyways.”

“Alright. So all they told me was that he was in a car accident.”

“Tell those nurses he's your brother.” He said pointing to the nurses station.

“Lou, I'm not going to lie to them.”

“It's the only way they'll tell you anything.”

“What happens when his parents get here and they talk about their daughter being here for him?”

“Fine, I'll see if they'll tell me anything.” He said walking over to the nurses station. “Hello ladies. I'm Louis Tomlinson. That man over there is Andrew Gates. He's dating my sister, and my sister, Lottie Tomlinson is upstairs in labor right now. And she's freaking out because he's not here. So if I could find out what's wrong with her boyfriend that'd be great!” He said smiling.

“Sure thing. I'll see if I can find anything out for you.”

“Thank you so much!”

“Not a problem! My daughter just loves you and the boys.” She said after sending someone to check Andy's chart.

“Aw! That's sweet. Would you like me to sign something for her?”

“Well I have this Polaroid camera, if I could get a picture with you, that'd be great!”

“Anything!” I took the photo for them and Louis signed it.

“This is my fiancee...”

“Nicole!” She said smiling. “My daughter loves you too, Nicole.”

“I'm very flattered.”

“Can I get a picture with you too?”

“Of course you can! Darling, will you take the photo for us?” I said handing him the camera.

“Sure thing, love.” He took the photo, then she wanted one of Lou and I together.

“You two really are so cute together.” She said smiling.

“Why thank you! You're a sweetheart.” I said giving her a hug.

“And if I'm not mistaken your wedding is next Saturday?”

“That's correct!”

“Well congratulations! I wish you both all the happiness in the world!” She said giving us both hugs, then the nurse came back with the results on Andy. “Ok, so it looks like he has a concussion, a broken arm, and a broken foot. So he should be completely fine to greet his child.”

“Thank you so much!” Louis said smiling.

We told Andy what room Lottie was in, for when he was discharged and we made our journey back up to her room.

“Have you noticed that we always talk to fans when we're at the hospital?”

“How so?” I asked confused.

“Like when you broke your wrist there was that little girl, Penelope. And that nurse.”

“Sure.” I said laughing.

“I'm serious! But whatever.” He said mocking me.

“Oh shut up!”

We arrived at Lottie's room, but she was sound asleep.

“I'm surprised Mum's not back yet.”

“She's probably staying with the girls.”

“But Felicity could do that.”

“It's a mom thing."

“Like you'd know?”

“No! But I'm a woman, I get it.” I said laughing. I sat down on Lou's lap and fell asleep.

I woke up to Andy shaking me lightly, which of course woke Lou up too.

“Hey how's she doing?” Andy asked.

“She's good. She's sleeping though so that's good. She needs her rest. What time is it anyway?” I said getting up to stretch.

“Just after 2 in the morning.”

“Wow.” Louis said, also stretching.

“Andy?” Lottie said in a groggy state.

“Hey beautiful!” He said giving her a kiss on the cheek.

“What happened to you?”

“I'll tell you later, but I'm fine. How is my princess?”

“I'm better since the epidural.”

“You're awake!” The doctor said walking in the room. “The father I presume?” She said gesturing to Andy.

“Yes. Alright, well you can stay, you two out again.”

When we returned the doctor said she was almost ready to push.

“Louis, you should call your mom and tell her.”

“She can't come. She won't leave the girls alone. She'll just come in the morning.”

“I know, but you should at least tell her.”

“Alright, I'll be right back.”

“Good.” I said smiling.

“Alright Charlotte, it's time to push. Alright so you push when I count. I'll count for 10 seconds and then you can rest for 5 seconds. Then we'll continue. And even though you have the epidural it'll still hurt. Just be ready ok?”

She nodded. Louis came back in and took her hand.

“You stay up there Louis!” Charlotte said somewhat laughing.

“Oh believe me, I will!” He said laughing. Andy took her other hand and I just kinda stood there.

“Alright, here we go! Push 2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10. Breathe 2-3-4-5. Ok, again.” This went on for about half an hour. Then May 17th, 2:48 a.m. William Levi Gates was born.

“He's beautiful Lottie!” I said giving her a little hug.

“Lottie, he really is beautiful.” Louis said kissing the top of her head.

“I'm a dad!” Andy said giving Lottie a kiss.

“7 lbs 6 oz.” The nurse shouted.

“Congratulations Lottie!” Louis said.

“Uncle Louis!” She said smiling at him. “And Aunt Nicole!” She said smiling at me.

“So was the pain worth it?” I said laughing.

“I'd like to say yes, but at this moment I'm not sure!” She said laughing.

“Here's your son.” The nurse said handing Lottie her son.

“Hi William. It's mommy.” She gave him a kiss on his head. “Now it was worth it.” She said. A single tear fell from her eye.

“Nicole, let's have a baby!” Louis said grabbing my hand.

“Sweetie, we have plenty of time for kids. Let's get married and enjoy our time together first, but then I promise you, we will have babies.” I said giving him a kiss.

“FYI Nicole, it hurts. Real bloody bad!”

“I bet.” I said laughing.
