3. Animal Instincts

Melody's POV

It had been dark...for so long... The silence mentally would have driven me insane if it weren't for that damned ringing that started. I could feel things suddenly. The side of my face began to slowly gain feeling, and the ringing in my ears grew louder. My whole body began to tingle, and the ringing got louder and louder. I felt as if my head were going to explode before I blinked my eyes open. My sight was blurry for a few moments before I was able to see each and every detail of the ceiling above me. The ringing faded into silence. For a moment, I didn't move... I just moved my fingers and looked around with only my eyes.

"Where am I?" I croaked.

Suddenly, I remembered what had happened before I closed my eyes, and I bolted up into a sitting position. My head snapped in all directions; my eyes scanned the room for a person, a being, that could tell me where I was. I could tell that I was in some sort of hotel. I noticed that my vision was enhanced and everything was brighter, and vivid. The smells...oh, I could smell things...through the walls... This both intrigued and scared me.

My throat was raw, but I thought nothing of it. My mind was set on the strange improvements I somehow gained while I was asleep. I breathed in the aromas that seeped their ways through the wooden planks behind me.

Mmmm... Biscuits, bacon, gravy, eggs... Yum...

The thought of food didn't bother me as much as the smell of  the man or woman that was enjoying the meal. Their smell...was heavenly. My eyes closed as I thought of it all, a soft smiling crawling to my face. I soon caught myself fantasizing about the smell of their skin, the sound of their pumping blood, how their flesh would taste, and my eyes snapped open in shock.

Was I thinking about....eating....this person...?

A pain shot through my stomach at the question. I bent over, a growl escaping my mouth as I clutched my pained abdomen. I slid my feet to the floor, surprised to find that I still wore the heels I had been wearing before the 'accident'. Slowly, I made my way to the door. When I turned the knob, only a loud rattle came from it. I pulled on the door harder with no luck.

I swore loudly, my hand flattening on the surface of the door as the pain grew throughout my stomach. I began to crouch before getting a sudden idea. I straightened up the best I could, and began to beat roughly on the door.

My mouth was too dry for me to speak... My throat burning.... I needed help.

I beat on the door for a while before suddenly the lock that was on the inside of the door buzzed. Only backing up a few feet, I watched as a black haired woman inched her way through the doorway. Her green eyes were strict and wondering as she spotted me.

"Miss, I am getting a few complaints about the noise..." She trailed off, knowing that I'd realize where the conversation was going.

"I'm sorry..." I glanced at her name tag quickly, "...Tania, I just needed..."

My eyes had ventured to the woman's neck. Something sliced down my lip, causing me to wince and dab my mouth with the tips of my fingers. Looking down, I noticed the blood. Tania must have too because she gasped.

"Excuse me, Miss, but what was it you needed?" She tried to ignore the fact that I was bleeding, and quickly jumped back on topic.

When I didn't answer, she repeated that...stupid word.... "Miss?"

She was looking at me with curious eyes. When I looked back up at her, I straightened my back and licked he blood off my lips and fingers. With a strange speed, I made my way behind the woman, and slammed the door shut. I saw a strange look pass over her face. It was a look of curiosity and fear.

Without a minutes hesitation, I found myself grabbing her, and biting into her neck deeply. She struggled and started to cry out, but I had pulled away and twisted her neck into an awkward angle before she could say much more.

Standing over her, I knew that I wasn't done... I wasn't satisfied with the amount that I had gotten. With that thought fresh on my mind, I sat on my knees and leaned over her corpse.

I looked over her dead eyes before I bit back into her juicy, warm flesh.
