The Straight - Edge boy with the Pepsi Tattoo™

This is a story dreamt about. It is about a girl who runs away from England to a place of opportunity, America. But when she gets there things pan out really well. She then crosses paths with a boy but he isn't just a normal ordinary boy, he is special.

8. Finding a place to stay

I wander around the city trying to find some sort of indication as to where everything is and miraculously I see a tourist guide booth with maps, brochures and leaflets. It is like a miracle had just fallen out of the sky in front of me! At first when I opened it up, it was huge! Nearly the size of me! But I figure out what way up it goes and read where I am and where is the nearest hotel. It clearly shows a range of hotels to look at, but I need to find the nearest one. I look a little more deeply into the map and find that there is a hotel only a ten minute walk away. So I scramble to my feet, lift my things off the ground and head off in that direction. It isn't a far walk at all and I see it there before me in no time.

Walking through the doors of the hotel was a clear sign that this isn't exactly the poshest hotel around but it may just have to do. I will look into the price and availability. I approach the receptionist with a smile and she beams back at me. "How may I help lovely?" she asks me as a warm welcome. "Are there any spare rooms currently available?" I ask.

"Yes! Plenty there are," She exclaimed.

"And what may the cost be per might?" I questioned

"Only $75 a night," she said convincingly enough for me to confirm a stay at this place.

"I'll take it thank you very much!" I say joyously. She hands me an entry keycard to my room and some paperwork with a pen.

"Room 202 is yours." "Also please could you possibly fill out this paperwork as well?" she added. I nod and take all my things up the stairs to room 202.

I stroll up to the door with all I have and scan my keycard to get in. As soon as I open the door, I was quite satisfied with what I was taking into my focus. The bedroom wasn't too bad at all. It had my approval to it. The walls were pale and white like fresh snow on a winter's day. The curtains were a pale lily pad green which are quite transparent, but I don't mind. I am a reasonable height from the ground for any 'spectators' to watch me at all. My bed is a double bed just like I had in England. It had a fresh, white duvet, sheet and pillows. I inspected the inside for any unwanted rubbish but things seemed alright. Parallel to the bed was a chest of draws, chestnut oak. Perched on it was a TV which had a good sized screen and a big range of channels. There was also a small desk which was positioned next to the chest of draws. It had a miniscule lamp on it which was dainty but fragile. On it was small pale lily pink décor with a floral pattern at the ends of the lamp. It was antique like and rather pretty. I then checked out the bathroom, it was a generous size, with a toilet, shower, sink, mirror and some shelves to put toiletries on. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with what I have. I can't believe that I have somewhere to stay! I truly have a new life and this one is looking to be very promising...
