Everything has changed. A load of EAHLF's (Energy Adapted Human Life Forms) have taken over when everything is destroyed. Lilienna is forced to help the human race continue from where it left off when the destructive energy wave passes through. The normal routine of the people dying, then being saved is broken and the long road to recovery is ahead. But is the power plant the only place where the energy can be stored? Are there other places or is it UNSUSTAINABLE....

10. Power plant

I entered the power plant. It was huge and it kind of smelt like nobody had been in there a while. There was dust everywhere and cobwebs absolutely dominated the entire place. I felt small and weak, but I had the energy on my side even though I wasn't allowed to use it unless the others said so. Leaving Woof had been so easy, he didn't even look up when they all said they were going inside. Weird. Just plain weird. Something terrible was going on and it was revolving around him, the worst part of it was, I was in the middle.

Eva, Mai and Marcus had taken the lead, just casually walking through like they were on a Sunday stroll. I lingered behind, jumping at every creak and screaming at every spider I passed. I think I seemed a little nervous. I had no idea where we were going but we were passing through control rooms and offices with blown up computers and little coffee mats that were long gone. When I thought we were going to stop, we didn't.

"We just passed a nice place to stop, it was big and quite light," I said, it was true, there was a crack in the ceiling where a faint light was bleeding through. Everywhere else was very dark, very very dark. And cold. This place creeped me out, not as much as Woof creeped me out though.

"Well we're not stopping," said Marcus. He hadn't changed! That little liar! Making friends with her, flirting with her, saying he would change like all the other men she had dated. Was it just her? She had read, and seen in real life, perfect relationships and people being so nice to each other- No, no, all of that was gone. Task at hand. Task at hand. Search this power plant. I wasn't going to listen to what Marcus had to say, let alone DO what he was saying. I lent  against the wall and let the others walk on, I'd catch up. As I was stood there, leaning on the wall, panting, I realized there was something very strange about this wall. Something stickly strange! There was some sort of goo all over it! I jumped away from it shouting.

Marcus thought that Lilienna was being very quiet, considering how long he had known her for, he had already figured out that she was not the quiet type. He looked behind and saw no one. She had just stopped walking. Great. Now what?

"Guys, Lilienna's gone." Both girls looked back and saw no-one. All three of their eyesight had been enhanced over time so that they could see in the dark.

"Where's she-" Mai was cut off by screaming in the distance. They all ran back the way they had come to find Lilienna exclaiming something about the wall.

"Touch it, it's all gooey!" she shouted. They all did it and then did the exact same thing as her. Except they could see it. When they touched it and messed it up, it formed itself back into shape, the shape of some sort of symbol. Actually a series of symbols. Eva gasped and Mai and Marcus both just stared in horror; they all knew what it said and what it was the 'gooey stuff was'.
