Mending The Memories - A Dan Howell (Danisnotonfire) Fanfic

Cleo Greenfeld awoke in a hospital, completely unaware of the events that had occurred just a few days before. She'd gotten into an accident and forgotten about everything that was fairly recent to her. Will she ever remember any of her most recent friends? Will she ever remember any of the important things that had happened to her recently? But most importantly, will she remember the boy she loves?

5. This Feels Right

After a little while Dan finally managed to calm down. But not once the entire time did he let go of me. He clung onto me like a child and it was one of the most heart breaking experiences I've ever had. To be entirely honest I really wished I could've remembered him, at least a little bit.

"Dan? Are you okay now?" I asked him after he had stopped crying for a little bit.

"Yeah I'm okay. You didn't need to do that you know." He looked up at me, sniffling a little.

"What kind of person would I be if I didn't comfort you? Besides, I feel terrible about the whole ordeal and didn't want you to feel so bad." I spoke softly to him, stroking his hair.

He looked up at me and smiled, resting his head on my shoulder and eventually falling asleep.

I awoke, feeling slightly angry. Luckily it's only because I'm always a little grumpy after waking up from a nap. I looked over at Dan, who was still asleep on my shoulder and smiled to myself. Whilst staring at his rather beautiful face, I noticed he was beginning to stir.

He looked up at me and gave me a sleepy grin. "Sorry for falling asleep on you."

"It's perfectly fine, I had actually fallen asleep too so it's nothing to worry about." I giggled

       "You actually fell asleep?"

"Yes, I did. Surprisingly enough I actually did."

"Hey look you guys are finally awake!" Phil walked in, throwing his arms up in celebration. "After Dan came in here I decided to give you guys some privacy, only to come back to find you both cuddled into each other, fast asleep!"

I looked down at Dan, who was obviously blushing. But I had to admit, it was incredibly adorable. Then I looked back up at Phil, who had the biggest smile plastered on his face.

"Are you happy about something?" I laughed as Dan rested his head back down on my shoulder.

"Why yes Cleo, yes I am happy about something. I'm just really excited that you're finally home!" Phil ran over to the couch and sat right next to me, wrapping his arms securely around me.

"Wow Phil, trying to steal Cleo away from me?" Dan laughed, wrapping his arms around me.

"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. Nobody shall ever know." Phil laughed maniacally.

I struggled to get away from them both, laughing so hard I started to cry. "Let me go!"

Dan and Phil both looked at each other and smiled. "Never!" They both screamed at the exact same time.

After a few minutes they finally gave up. But none of us bothered to move at all, we all just laid there, enjoying each other's company. And oddly enough, it felt right. I know that probably sounds cheesy and stupid, but it was true. Even though I barely knew these people, I felt safe with them.
