An Awards Ceremony With Taylor Swift

3. Acceptance Speech

As Hugh Jackman took the stage, a loud voice boomed over the speaker, “Welcome, ladies and gentleman to the 55th Annual Grammy’s Award Ceremony! Please welcome your host for the evening, Mr Hugh Jackman!” It took me a minute for my eyes to adjust to the brightness of the stage while Hugh read his welcome speech and proceeded to read the long list of categories for tonight. He introduced a guest star to the stage to announce the nominees and winner of the first category. It was such a rush being there with all these famous people around me. I looked to my right and saw Ed Sheeran and just as I looked her turned his head, waved and smiled at me. I smiled back then faced back to the stage before looking to my left and spotting Katy Perry. I really liked the dress that she was wearing. It was a short, puffed light red gown with a white sash around her waist. Before turning back to the stage, I glanced over at Taylor and saw her sit up in her seat and inch toward the stage. Her purple, sparkly dress was shimmering in the light being radiated from the stage. It was much more elegant than my simple purple, sequin covered evening dress. When I turned back to the stage, Hugh was welcoming the next guest to the stage to present ‘The Best Female Artist Award’. “..and the nominees are…” I must have zoned out because the only name I heard from the lot was 'Taylor Swift,' and I immediately switched my attention to the stage. I too inched forward on my seat and sat on my hands to stop them shaking. I knew that she would be up against some great artists as I read the nomination form back at her house. I believed in her though and was sure that she would win it. “The award for, ‘The Best Female Artist’ goes to…” there was a pause in her phrase and the room was dead silent. I thought that Taylor must be holding her breath because I was right up next to her and couldn’t hear her breathing. '…TAYLOR SWIFT!' 'Oh My God! Oh My God!...' Taylor kept saying that over and over as she wrapped her arms around me and squeezed me into the biggest hug of my life then made her way to the stage. When she got there she accepted the congratulations from the host and went on to begin her acceptance speech. 'Well first of all I would like to thank my Mom! She does a lot for me and I love her so much. Thank you to everybody that has helped me in my life. You can never know how much it means to me. But I would also like to thank my dear friend Allana. She has been my greatest friend and is always there for me,' she looked at me and smiled as she said this. I felt a tear run down my cheek and smiled back at her. 'You are the greatest friend anybody could ever have,' she said to me and continued by saying, 'I love you so much…' she began to cry then I walked towards the stage and we met halfway. We wrapped our arms around each other and cried on each other’s shoulder as we had so many times before over the years…
