21. Dumbledore Gone, Secrets Spilled

Everything was settle down for about two months and then Hermione was petrified and Hagrid was arrested for the opening of the Chamber. Lea knew it was total crap.

The same night, Fawks came and visited her. He told her about how Dumbledore was being taken from the school. He went willingly enough, he just happened to hate every second of it.

Lea rushed up to his office to see what the heck was going on up there. She turned mouse and scurried up to his desk.

In the room was the Minister, Dumbledore himself and a man with light platinum long blonde hair, obviously Draco's father. (Hagrid was already being taken to Azkaban.)

Lea was listening to a conversation that was in its ending performance.

"I have signed letters from the board. You must be off the premises by dawn," the blonde man said. His voice was silky smooth and you melted when you heard it if you weren't on guard, but it also had a sinister and evil sharp edge to it.

"Calm down, Lucius. I will go without any protest. May I be alone to gather some thing," Dumbledore asked.

"Of course," Fudge said before Malfoy could open his mouth. They left, Malfoy rather grudgingly.

"Lea come out. Good, now listen carefully," he said as he lifted Lea onto his desk.

"You must go and tell Severus that the guard must not be let up. Tell him that the person who opened the Chamber is still here. Go now," Dumbledore said as Lea ran down the desk.

She used the hidden mouse tunnels for a faster way around. When she finally made it to Severus' office, he was just getting done grading all the day's papers.

Lea came in and did a quick look around. No one else was there. She started to run to him in mouse form. Then she started to become human once more.

Severus looked up in surprise at Lea, who was red faced and breathing heavily.

"What are you doing here," Severus nearly yelled.

"I have a message from Professor Dumbledore," she said. For the next five minutes Lea explained how and why she had gone to Dumbledore's office and then the message.

"Thank you, I must notify the other teachers. You stay here. I will come back with a few teachers. It is time they knew about you. They will also need to hear this from you," he said running his hand through his hair.

This seemed to make Severus nervous. Lea assured him that he would be fine, as would she. Inwardly, Lea was not quite as confidant.

The teachers that Severus brought back were Flitwick, McGonagall, and Sprouts, the Herbology teacher. (Lea had her on Fridays just after lunch.)

Severus, back to his usual cold an snide self, was busily explaining Lea's ability. After he was done, Lea explained what she saw and heard. As she explained, Fawks came and sat with her. He was going to stay at the school and wait for Dumbledore to come back as he always did.

Lea was tired by the time she had explained everything. McGonagall sent Lea to bed because she looked "dead on your feet, girl". Actually, Severus was about to do the same, but refrained from showing affection in front of the others. He felt a little embarrassed about it. He rarely showed affection to anyone.

Lea headed to bed. The next week went by slowly. The teachers were all nervous about Dumbledore being gone and about what Severus had told them. All but Lockhart who was sure Hagrid was the culprit.

The students were escorted to their classes, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The were also escorted to the bathrooms, to the common rooms, even to the library. They were no longer aloud to spend their free time roaming the castle of their grounds.

This was the worst part for Lea, who loved running in the forest and had even made friends with the winged black horses. She didn't know what they were called though.

One night, during the last two weeks of school, Lea couldn't help it and went for a run. She never left the castle. She ran as a mouse.

That's when she saw her, Ginny Weasley, Ron's little sister, writing on the walls in blood. She was crying and was apparently trying to stop, but she couldn't.

Lea came up behind her and turned human. She was confused. Then she heard a slithering in the walls. The voice came, "Almost time to feed," and slithered away. The hairs on Lea's neck stood on end.

She went forward two steps and placed her hand on Ginny's shoulder. "Help me," she whispered.
