Crystal Waters

Topaz and Sapphire are for the most part two average sisters. They lived with their Mom and Dad in a wealthy home. One day, they came home to their mom sobbing, all her belongings gone. Their father had disappeared and taken all of their money. Later that year, their mom went missing. Not because she left, but because she was killed. They want to get revenge. One more thing,

They're Mermaids.

12. Marina and the Pinkies

Within the first five minutes of our "journey," I can tell it won't be fun, at all. When we first started out, Marina, Macy, and Dakota lugged their huge bags over and hooked them on Kona and Star. Then Dakota and Macy rode Kona, while Marina rode star. We had to swim alongside, listening to their squeals of delight. Poor dolphins have to carry all of that weight, luckily we're in water so its not that heavy.

Topaz and I decide to take a side trip and go hunting. We told the Pinkies that they have to let the dolphins rest while we go hunting, and they can rest in a cave. When we pulled out our tridents, Marina's eyes got really wide.

"You're gonna kill fish, with that?!? That is so inhumane, poor fishies!" Topaz just rolled her eyes, while Dakota and Macy sympathized with Marina.

"Here we go again," I grumble.

"You got that right," Topaz replies.

The kelp forest is thick with huge chunks of coral and tall masses of seaweed. We wind our way through, spotting nothing.

"Ugh, I bet the Pinkies perfume is scaring the fish, I can smell it from a mile away, underwater!" Topaz exclaims.

Suddenly, I spot movement by the rocks. A large sea bass emerges from the hidden cave. I grip my trident hard and wait for the right time. Annnddddd........ Now! Our tridents simultaneously fly at the huge beast, hitting the abdomen and tail. Quickly, I press the button on my bracelet and my weapon returns. The injured bass darts into some seaweed, seeking shelter.

"Crap! We had it. Now we have to track it again," I switch out my trident to the spear and randomly hurl it at a clump of seaweed. I hear a crack and press my bracelet again. Slowly, the spear returns with the sea bass' head stuck on the spear.

"Wow! Saph that was amazing!" Topaz says in awe.

"I can't even believe it myself, oh well. Let's go the Pinkies are probably getting hungry." I wink and grab the fish, swimming to the cave.

I hear a small scream and peek inside. The Pinkies are looking at me with sheer horror.

"Oh. My. Gosh. You actually cut the fish open and took the guts out?!" Marina shrieks. "And we have to eat that?" Dakota and Macy's mouths are wide open in disbelief.

"Get used to it. We need to hunt every day now that we have three more people joining us," Topaz says harshly.

"Yup, did you know that the heart and intestines are a good source of protein?" The Pinkies shriek some more, then quickly swim out. Topaz high-fives me.

"Nice one, Saph."

"Now if only they could stay away from us, everything would be fine." I reply without any emotion. I take out my dagger and cut the head in half, feeding it to the dolphins. Topaz cuts out the meat and takes the choice pieces for herself and I.

"The agreement never said we have to give them good food," I laugh. Outside the cave, the Pinkies are breathing heavily with their hands over their chest, drowning in self pity with "The shock of seeing a beautiful fish maimed, skinned, and gutted."

"Here," Topaz shoves some fish in their hands. "Eat this."

"Ew ga-ross. That's raw fish!" Marina turns her nose up.

"Yea and kelp is green, eat it!" Topaz demands.

"Um, I don't want to eat raw fish either," Macy pipes up.

"Yea, me neither," Dakota says. Topaz stares daggers at all of them and finally, they relent, silently chewing their fish and making gross faces.

"You're welcome," I say, grab the dolphins, and start swimming away.

"Wait! Wait!" The Pinkies catch up to us. "We'll be good from now on, just don't make us eat that disgusting stuff you call raw fish. It's slimy!" Marina complains, Topaz rolls her eyes.

"Fine you like sea snail better?" I say.

"No, no. Um-uh, fish is fine," Dakota replies sheepishly. Marina glares at her and huffs.

"Can we get going now? I can't be on vacation forever. I actually have a life ya know, unlike some freaks." Marina looks at her nails. "I need a new coat, this one is chipping."

"Marina, I can do your nails, I'm better than Dakota," Macy says.

"No, your not, I am!" Dakota fights back.

"WILL YOU BOTH PLEASE JUST SHUT UP! YOU'RE SO ANNOYING! YOU'RE ALWAYS COMPLAINING. GET OVER IT! GAH!" Topaz screams at them and they stop talking immediately. "Now that that's settled, let's go have a nice relaxing trip to the Caribbean, okay?"
