Midnight Crew [Punk Harry AU]

"You're parents are right, bad boy's aren't any good but then again, good boys aren't any fun."

"We're a family can't you see? We have our ups and downs cause we're broken souls, but we're broken souls together."

"I may be a dim shattered light, but even the dim illuminate"

*Hailey's P.O.V*

I sighed as I shut the door behind me. Way to go Hailey. You could have kissed the kid.

Basically after Harry stopped in front of my house we just sat there in an awkward silence.

"Well, erm, I better get going now. Uh, thanks for the lift Harry." I spat out. He stared at me blankly for a few seconds. "Don't mention it Yankee. I'll be seeing you at the party this Saturday." He raised one of his eyebrows and smiled a cocky smile. "Of course" I replied. With that, I shut the car door and walked up to my front door, fumbling around my bag for the keys. Once I was at the front of the door I turned around, just in case he was still there. Believe it or not, he wasn't. Instead, he was all the way up the street right before the traffic light.

I finally opened the front door. "Hey, I'm home" I yelled. Not that anyone cared. I heard a russle and tussle of pots and pans from the kitchen. I dropped my bag on the floor right by the steps and made way into the kitchen. There I found my mother trying to fix the kitchen while humming a song.

“Lora” I said emphasizing the a.
It took her a few seconds but she turned around and saw me standing by the door.

“Oh Hailey, you’re back earlier than I thought. Did your brother drive really fast or what??”

I frowned, “Mom, Justin didn’t pick me up from school.”

She made a face “What do you mean he didn’t pick you up from school?!? The how did you get here??”
Man I’m fucked. My parents would go crazy if they found out I got a lift from a guy on my first day of school. Besides the fact that the one that gave me the lift is in a gang.

I gulped. “Uh, the bus. I found out what bus to take on my phone.”

She shook her head “Technology these days. Well your brother better have some explaining to do to me when he comes back from wherever the hell he’s been.”

I watched as she grabbed a small box from underneath the kitchen table. She handed one to me.

“Here, this is yours.” She said.

I grabbed the box and placed it between my right arm and the middle of my stomach then walked out the kitchen leaving the unpacking to my dear mother.

With my left hand I grabbed hold of one of my bags straps and went upstairs to my room. I set both my bag and the box on the table near my bed and shut the door behind me with my foot. I collapsed on my bed after a weird/cool/confusing day of school. Not only did I make a friend but I was also invited to a party this week.

The only problem being my parents would most likely say no to such a thing. If I managed to sneak out then I would have no problem, maybe I’ll do that. I lay in bed for the next few minutes debating the pros and cons of such a thing and decided on it.

I was going to go to that party. Whether my mom liked it or not.

------------------------------------------------------------------2 Hours Later-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up to a knock on my door. Slightly shocked I rubbed my eyes and forced myself up from my little nap.

There was a knock again.

“Ughh, calm your tit’s. I’m coming.” I groaned as I turned the cold knob clockwise. My mom appeared on the other side of the door.
She was holding another box, the words Family Albums written in Sharpie on the top flap.

“Dinner’s ready” she said “Oh and here” she handed me the box “Be a dear and put this somewhere in your closet, turns out there’s not a lot of space for all those albums in the living room”

I whined “But Lora!!”

I call her by her first name when I want something or I’m really mad at her. I’m guessing you know which one I’m referring to now. She gave me a look. I sighed.

“Fine” I mumbled back.

She smiled to herself and walked back into the hallway. I placed the new box right next to the other box and my bag, placed my hair back into a messy ponytail then made my way downstairs.

The closer I got the more noises I heard. In my family our dinner time has recently been little to no communication to one another. I frowned as I turned the corner into the kitchen.

At the table were my mom, Justin and wait, what?? I’ve never seen that guy before in my life. What the fuck??

My mom looked at me from the corner of her eye. “Oh Hailey, nice of you to join us. Justin wants to introduce you to someone. I rolled my eyes. After just deserting me on my first day of senior year here in the U.K. to go and do Jesus knows what, I wasn’t in the mood to even look at Justin.

I could tell Lora was sensing this feeling because she gave me a stern look. I exhaled strongly through my nose.
Justin got up from his chair, and the person turned around.

Wow. He is cute!!!

I guess I shouldn’t have judged the kid in the first place.

“Hailey, this is Ricky. Ricky, this is my little kid sister, Hailey.” Justin swung his index finger between Ricky and me back and forth. A smile slipped off my face as Ricky extended his hand out to me. I shook it and felt a strong grip that made my spine tingle.

“Nice to finally meet you Hailey. Justin’s told me so many good things about you these past weeks.”

“Oh thanks I guess” I smiled back but frowned “Wait, weeks?? I thought you guys just met or something??”

Man was I confused.

Ricky chuckled a bit. “Well, I did this “International Pen Pal” project during my freshman year of college and I was paired up with an American college freshman, named Justin Paterson” he chuckled a second time, this time spreading it to me.

It all added up now. Justin didn’t pick me up from school because he was meeting up with Ricky.

Well that was cute, I said sarcastically to myself. But would that mean that Ricky was gay??
I shook the thought of my head. Ricky was actually really toned and fit, so if he was gay, it would be a terrible disappointment for the female society.

“Cool” was all I managed to say.

My mom made us all sit down again and we had a little dinner. For the first time ever since the move we all talked as a family, or at least ¾ of it. Oh and plus a guest who was possibly gay.

After around 40-45 minutes later I found myself in the living room with Justin and Ricky. To be honest the anger I had against Justin not picking me up from school was starting to ease off, seeing as though I was actually having a good time with Ricky…..and Justin.
I found myself making eye-contact with him and shyly ducking my head back down to the hardwood floor when he would catch me in the innocent act. A smile swept off my face as Ricky complemented my light blue eyes and charming personality.

I checked the time on the living room clock, 8:35 p.m. It was getting late, and I could see Ricky was noticing that as well. He got up from his seat on the couch and explained to everyone that it was getting late and that he should get home, blah blah blah.
I waved goodbye to him from the window as Justin shut the door. “Sorry” he said as he locked the door.

“For what?” I replied.

“Not picking you up from school.”

“Oh….well I was mad at first…..but now you’re off the hook Justin.” I replied with a small cocky smile of my own.

He chuckled to himself. He turned around and was halfway up the stairs when I stopped him.

“WAIT…Justin…Your friends…Ricky…is he, you know, gay??”

Man, I sounded desperate. Maybe just a bit?? Oh fuck it.

Justin laughed. “I KNEW YOU LIKED THE KID!!!”

I playfully shoved him on the shoulder. “Just answer the damn question.”

“Fine. He’s more straighter than a straight-edge.” With that he continued his voyage up the stairs and into the bathroom. Probably to jerk off. I wouldn’t be surprised.

Instead I smiled and squealed all the way to my room.
