Finding My Soul Mate. A 1DFanfic.

13 year old Lucy hates her life. Her older sister, Amy doesn't have a care in the world about her and her dad is a work-aholic. Without a mum in her life she has nothing better to do than run away from home, making a soul mate along her travels, Niall Horan from One Direction.

30. New school and new friends.

"Lucy? Lucy! Come on! You have to get up. We're going to your new school today!" My dad's voice woke me up at 7:30am. I groaned and slung my warm, silk cover off my body. "OK, I'm up!" I walked out into my bathroom and hopped into the shower.

I wrapped my white, fuzzy towel around my body as the cold air hit me. I blow dried my hair and walked back into my room. I looked through my clothes and settled on a pair of ripped skinny jeans with my 'Dork' belly top. After putting them on, I went to put my make-up on. Once I'd brushed my teeth and washed my face with cold water, I grabbed my make-up bag.

"You ready kiddo?" Amy asked, once I sat down on the 'L' shaped sofa. "Yeah. Are you coming with us?" I asked, surprised. She nodded and smiled. "Sure am! I want to make sure this school and the people in it are suitable for my little sister!" She winked. I laughed and went to get dad.

The car ride wasn't as long as I thought it was and the school was within walking distance from my house. "Alright, we're here. You ready?" My dad announced. I'm not going to lie, I was quite nervous. For all I know, I could be the most hated girl in the whole school. Even though no one knew me personally. "Let's do this" We all hopped out of the car and walked, like the three amigos, to the main entrance.

"Welcome to St. Martins School, how may I help you?" A blonde woman with fake nails, a ton of make-up and bubble gum, popping in her mouth, asked us. She didn't once look up from her computer screen as she talked. How rude. "Yes, I'm here with my daughter, Lucy and she's meant to be starting this school soon so we've come for a look around." My dad explained, whilst me and Amy just looked awkwardly at eachother. "Ah yes. You just have to go to form rep which is on the second floor, down the hall, right to the end and the first door on the left. Room 202" The fake blonde told us, still not looking up from her computer screen. We all nodded, even though she couldn't see us, and made our way up to form rep.

"Room 202. Dad! It's here!" He walked up to me as I stood outside the room. He knocked twice and opened the door. I looked around the room, taking in everything. All eyes were on me. A guy in the corner of the room whistled and eyed me up and down. I rolled my eyes at him and looked to the teacher. "May we help you sir?" He asked my dad. Me and Amy snickered at the name he used for my dad. I even saw my dad crack a tiny chuckle at the teachers words. "I was told to come up here with my daughter Lucy. She's starting school here soon" My laugh went to just a smile. "Ah yes. Lucy Catchpole, is it?" I nodded from behind my dad and looked to the ground. I've always hated my surname. "Yes that's her." My dad turned to me and smiled, grabbing my arm and pulling me to the front of the class, from where I was standing behind him. "My name is Mr. Oliver and I'm the form rep teacher. Tell us little bit out yourself, Lucy" I did a nervous shuffle and stood, central in the class room so everyone could see every inch of me. "Obviously my names Lucy. You already know that" I got a few laughs which made me smile and feel more comfortable. "I come from London, I like to sing and erm, yeah" I finished with a shrug and looked to see two girls, on the front row, smiling at me. "OK. Everyone be nice to Lucy! Make her feel welcome, you can sit next to Holly for today. Holly will you help Lucy around the school for today, along with Liz and you wont have to go to any lessons. I'll inform your teachers." The brunet girl nodded and I went to sit next to her. "I'm Holly and this is my friend Liz. I can tell we're all going to be good friends! And thanks for getting us out of lessons for today!" She beamed. I looked at Liz and smiled. She had blonde hair and dull green eyes. She smiled back and looked to the front, where Mr. Oliver was saying something about what's being happening on the news. "Do I have to be aware of anything or anyone?" I asked, looking to Holly. "You might want to stay away from Jackson, he's a arse" I looked to the boy who whistled at me, who Holly identified as Jackson. I nodded. "Anyone else?" "Yeah, don't go near the group of fakes over there. You don't want to be a part of anything they have to offer" She put air quotations around 'offer' so I just nodded, looking at the group of blonde girls staring at me. "You're right, they're fake" I laughed. "I like your accent!" Liz chirped in. "Thank you. I like yours too!" I beamed.

Throughout the rest of the day, Liz and Holly showed me around school, letting me in on some secrets about some people. If I'm quite honest, I think we hit it off really well. They both took a liking to me as a friend. I also learned a few things about both of them and I told them a few things about myself. I found out that they're both crazy for One Direction so I guess we have something to talk about. Before I left school at the end of the day, we all exchanged numbers.

"Lucy, dinner!" My dad yelled. I ran in from the room and plonked down on a chair, in the kitchen. "While you were in school today. Myself and Amy talked to the head Mr and he said that you will not be starting school until the new year." I looked up from my plate. "What?! Why?!" I wanted to get started straight away if I was honest. "He said that it wouldn't be a good idea because you would have no idea what was happening. The year you're moving into still has to finish something they were working on before summer and he said it would be best for your learning. I don't know but you aren't starting school at St. Martins until January the forth" I sighed and poked my fork into my chicken, not really feeling hungry anymore. "I'm not feeling that good. I think I'm going to go have a nap" I announced, standing from the table.

I text Liz and Holly telling them everything my dad just explained to me. They were upset but told me that we should hang out after school and at weekends. Of course I agreed. I laid down on my bed and switched on my TV. I have to wait 5 months before I can go to school. Surely it was illegal to do that?
