Our Destiny (Sequel to Fallen)

It's been a year since Karla started to remember, and everything looks perfect. It feels perfect. But the burden from her being an orphan, and both of her parents dying because of her, keeps adding more weight on her shoulders. When Justin and Karla find themselves in a situation they can't get out of, will their love be enough?

Now I know what you may be thinking, why is the funeral a year later? Why did you have it so far back? Well, the truth is that I didn't want to have the funeral until they found her body. Which took quite a while since she had, somehow, don't ask me how, rolled under a big root, and that root had fallen over her. I don't know, it was complicated. You also might be wondering why Landon wasn't at the funeral. Well he's on vacation with his new girl, and she wasn't very fond with the thought that he went to his ex's funeral. Or at least that's what he told me. As I once again stared into the wall and stroked Justin's arm that was wrapped around me this is what I thought about. About Landon. Was he sad yesterday? Or didn't he even think about it and just had fun with his girlfriend? Wonder if I was ever going to meet him again. I took a deep breath as I felt Justin's breathing against my neck, and then I turned around. He looked so innocent when he was sleeping. My hand traced up to his cheek, and his eyes slowly opened. A smile spread across his lips as he closed his eyes again. His hand placed over mine and he took a deep breath. My head scooted over to his pillow and my legs intertwined with his. I leaned forward and gently kissed his lips. He smiled and pulled apart. He opened his eyes and closed his mouth. "Did I do something wrong?" I whispered. He shook his head microscopically. "I have a terrible morning breath." I kissed his lips again and this time he didn't pull apart. My arms wrapped around his neck and I grabbed his hair in my hands. His hands embraced my face as he pulled me closer. After a while we had to draw apart, too breath. Justin stared into my eyes. "You have no idea how much I love you." I smiled widely. "I love you too Justin." He smiled as well. "Breakfast!" I heard from the other side of the door. Oh, maybe I forgot to mention that we were in Patties house. "Well be down in a minute mum!" Justin called back. We listened as she walked down the stairs. He sighed. "Good way to ruin the moment." I pecked his lips. "It's fine."

-2 months later-

"Here." I laughed as Justin forced a strawberry into my mouth. "Justin!" I called when I swallowed it. He grinned cheekily and threw a strawberry up in the air. He caught it in his mouth. I nodded. "Impressive." My eyes wandered of to a man behind him. He looked familiar. "Hey Justin." He looked down at me and smiled. "Yes my princess?" I slightly pointed at the man. "That man, do you recognize him?" Justin watched the man and shook his head. "No, why?" I squinted at the still unknown man. "He just looks so familiar." I think I realized who it was in that moment, but yet I didn't, because I didn't want to believe it. I didn't want to believe that my uncle, that being my fathers brother, was standing 60 feet away from me. I crawled into Justin's arms. "Uhm... Justin I think that's my uncle." I felt him stiffen behind me. I had told him about my uncle. What he had done to me and my mum. "He looks different." I don't think he heard what I even said. "Let's go." Justin stood up so quickly that I fell backwards and hit my head on the ground. "Ow." I don't think he heard me then either, he was too busy packing up our picnic. He watched Rhett, my uncle, as he grabbed my hand to pull me up from the ground and packed up the blanket. "Come on." I looked back at Rhett as Justin almost pulled me with him. His head turned to me, and he watched me with a wide grin.
