2. Father's Day with Toby and Lila

Harry's POV

I was awoken from my slumber this morning by Toby and Lila jumping on the bed, screaming at the top of their lungs to wake up. I've been woken up like this for the past week because preschool is now over. But I'm not complaining! I get to spend more time with my kids!

I heard Marley whisper 123. Then Toby, Lila and Marley all screamed "Happy Father's Day Daddy!!!!" I couldn't help but to smile and tackle them with hugs.

Marley walked out of the room for a few seconds and then came back in with a tray of food. She set it on the bed and reminded the kids to be careful. "Toby helped with the eggs and bacon and Lila poured the apple juice and arranged the flowers! Doesn't it look good Daddy?" Marley said like a preschool teacher. Ever since we had the kids, Marley and I haven't called each other by our actual names. I go by Daddy and she goes by Mommy or sometimes Mama.

"Yes! It does Mama!! Oh I can't wait to eat it!" I said rubbing my hands together.

"Now before you eat, Toby and Lila have something for you!" I she encouraged them to give me the cards that they had hid from behind them. They each handed me a card. Toby's was blue and it had a picture of a soccer ball (or as I like to call it a football) on it and in his writing it said: To Daddy. Lila's was purple and had a flower taped to the front and to the side of it in her hand writing it said: To Daddy.

"Open mine furst Daddy!" Lila said pointing to hers. I nodded my head and before I opened the card, I smelled the flower that was taped on the front. I looked over at Lila, "Oh it smells devine!". She had the biggest smile on her face. I opened the card. I realized that it was a hand made card. I let out a gasp. On the front of the card writen in purple marker on the pink paper, it said Happy Father's Day!

"Mama told me how to write the letters!"

"Really?" I asked, the hand writing was actually preety good and I found it hard to believe that Lila had writen it.

"Yeah Daddy! She did it all by herself!" Marley said nodding her head. It's so hard to believe though!

I continued to look at the cover. There were flowers taped all over and in the middle was a picture of her and I as stick figures. Mine had curly hair and hers had a flower as her hair. As you can tell, Lila likes flowers! I opened the card to see more flowers and sparkles everywhere.

"Oh my!" I said looking at Lila. The look on her face was priceless. She was starring at her art and was just amazed that she actually made that!

She looked up at me. "Are you gunna read it Daddy?"

"Yep!" I looked back down at the card and started to read it. It read: Daddy, I love you! You make me happy! I love your hair! Happy Father's Day! Love, Lila :)

It also had a ticket for a free cuddle.

"Do you like it Daddy?" Lila asked looking up at me with her big green orbs.

"I did! I love it so much! Thank you baby!!" I said. She jumped up from sitting next to me and jumped on me giving me a big hug.

"Read mine now!!!" Toby said handing me his card.

"Okye-dokey!" I took the card and opened it. It was hand made too! It was green and written in blue marker, it said Happy Father's Day Daddy! There were a whole bunch a stickers on it. Mostly cars and soccer balls (footballs as I say).

"Read it Daddy!" Toby said putting his small hand on my leg. I continued to open the card. Inside was a big picture of a brown T-Rex that he drew. It had a speech bubble too. It read Happy Father's Day Daddy! I love you!

It also had a ticket for a free ride in his car bed. Marley and I got him a car bed and I always ask him if I can have a ride but he always says no.

"Like it Daddy?" He asked sitting up onto his knees.

"I love it! Thank you so much!!!" I said giving him a big hug!

What an amazing way to start off my day!

For dinner tonight Marley, Toby, Lila, and I  went out for dinner. We had an amazing time. It was so incredible to see how much Toby and Lila have grown. I'm so proud to be their dad! I can't believe that they're going to be starting kinder garden in a few months! I can't believe that I'm going on tour in a matter of months! I'm scared that I'm going to miss something important in their lives!

When we got home, Marley and I put the kids to bed. It was almost 11:30 once we finally got them to fall asleep!

"I have a great day today!" I said looking over at Marley, who was walking towards the bed.

"Me too! The kids seemed really happy!"

"You know what I've noticed?"

"What's that?" She asked climbing into the bed and getting under the sheets.

"I haven't called you Marley since you've had the kids. I've been calling you Mom or Mommy or Mama. Same your way."

"Yeah! Wow! The other day I forgot your name so I just called you Dad, because I forgot to call you Harry. I feel bad!"

"Don't feel bad! We should just start to call each other by our names. I don't even think our kids know our names!"

"Yeah... I guess you're right!"

"I love you!"

"I love you more!"

"I love you most!!"

"Goodnight Mom... I mean Marley!!" I laughed.

"Goodnight Dad... Harry!" We both laughed. I turned off the lights and we fell asleep. I've had a pretty great day!
