Tanya is a 13 year old girl, who lives with her mum, dad and annoying older brother Lucas. He never leaves her alone, and he is always pestering her! She finds out that she actually has a long-lost identical twin sister, but they got separated at birth. Tanya can't wait to meet her sister, and she is so excited, but there is something not right about this. Little does Tanya know that a dark secret is being held back, but was it really her family holding it back or Tanya herself?

3. Escape

Tanya flung open her heavy wardrobe doors and scanned her clothes, heart thumping noisily against her chest. She reached forward and pulled a black t-shirt out with a pair of blue jeans. She undressed and got changed into her clothes, closing her wardrobe doors at the same time. A noise came walking up the stairs, walking right towards Tanya's room! She panicked, heart thumping even more. Quickly, the teenager jumped under her pink quilt and pulled it up around her neck, shutting her eyelids tight. As her door squeaked open, she held her breath. She could feel eyes boring into her, and she twitched her foot. The door was finally closing when Tanya could breathe out and relax. She opened her eyes and searched the room. Tanya pulled back the quilt and jumped out of her bed, pulling on her white Nike trainers. She grabbed her bag and shoved in her make-up, deciding that she would do it on the way. She also put in a spare hairband and loads of spare clothes. This was a lot of clothes to carry! Tanya ran over to her piggy bank and tipped out every last bit of money out onto her duvet. There was about £150 in there that she had saved up over the past year through birthday, Christmas and pocket money. She put her phone in and zipped up her bag. She sighed and walked towards her door. Tanya pulled it open and walked out, closing it behind her. The house was silent, apart from the television in the background and the sound of her mother cooking. She knew she couldn't tell her mum and dad, and also her brother about this. They couldn't know. Without making a noise, Tanya crept down the staircase, on tiptoes. She walked quickly to the door and pulled down the handle without being noticed. Stepping onto the concrete doorstep outside, Tanya looked one last time at her family. She smiled a small smile. Finally, she closed the door behind her, and was ready with whatever would face her out here.
