I've been running all my life. Away from the horrid memories of the sacrifices my mother made to protect me, and to protect my name from this evil world we live in...
But everything's changed...
I've recently found out my mother was murdered by a psychopath; choosing the wrong pill in a game of chance that would give away her secret. That gave away my name.
That cost her her life...
I heard a man named Sherlock Holmes had solved my mother's case along with others who had fallen of the same fate. I must find him so I can warn him: for he does not know what he has gotten himself into...

22. Stalker?

The next day, I surprisingly get a call from Dan.

"Hi Dan...I didn't even know you had my phone number." I say, just a tad bit confused on how he got my number in the first place.

"Yeah; PJ gave your number to all of us in case of emergency."

"So, is this an emergency?"

"...In a way, I suppose it is..."

We agree to meet up in Trafalgar Square with Chris later that day. Dan was obviously concerned about something, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe it was about PJ acting weird since I told him about my dad...

I get to the square as fast as I can.

I see Dan and Chris sitting on the edge of the fountain, just making small talk until I get closer to them. They both say hello and pat a spot in between them, and I sit.

"Okay, so what's the emergency?" I say as I take a sip of water from the water bottle I grabbed on the way here (running from Baker Street to Trafalgar Square was quite the workout).

Dan takes a deep breath, but just as something is about to come out of his mouth, Chris beats him to it.

"Phil is madly in love with you."

I spit out my water in a wide spray in front of me. I cough a little bit as Chris pats me on the back.

"Holy shit, are you okay Rachel?" Dan asks politely.

"Yeah...I'm fine..." I say as I cough just a little bit more. "Phil is not in love with m-"

"YES HE IS!" Chris yells. Dan and I both shush him and tell him to keep it down.

"You know that Melody Malone book you let him borrow?" Dan asks, and I nod. "Well, he's read it at least 10 times and," Dan looks around to make sure no one else is listening in, and resumes. "He snorts that book like it's fucking cocaine!"

"He even said himself that the books smelled like you. He actually said that." Chris affirms Dan's accusation.

"Well, what the hell am I supposed to do?!" I complain to Dan and Chris. "I don't want to hurt him or anything; he's so sweet and nice!"

"I don't think you heard what I said: he snorts your book like fucking cocaine." Dan reminds me. "Isn't that just the tiniest bit creepy to you? I mean," He jabs a thumb at Chris. "That's like Chris-level sexual predator shit! No offense Chris."

"None taken." Chris replies with a smile.

"Okay, first of all, Phil is no-"

"Sorry, let me get this."

I take out my phone and slide to answer.

"Hi, Rachel...it's, um, Phil."

Well speak of the devil.

"Hi Phil," I say as I turn to Dan and Chris in alarm. "How's the book?"

"Oh, it's brilliant! Thanks for letting me borrow it! I've read it like, five times now; it's so good!"

"I know right!" I say as the nervousness and alarm from my voice slowly turns to happiness. "That's why it's my favorite of the series!" Dan and Chris looked confused and panicked, but I ignore them.

"Hey, Rachel...can we, um, meet up sometime?"

"Sure, Phil. I'm actually in Trafalgar Square right now."

I can hear a familiar smile spread across Phil's face.

"...That's, um, great! I guess I'll, um, see you later?"

"Yeah." I smile. This guy couldn't possibly  be a sexual predator; he's just simply too nice and too sweet. "I'll see you soon."

I hit end.

"Please don't tell me that you did what I think you did." Dan says nervously.

"If you mean inviting Phil to see me right now, then I did what you think I did." Chris's jaw drops and eyes widen. Dan runs his hands frustratingly through his silky back hair. Anyone could clearly see the fear in their delicate brown eyes.

"What the actual fuck, Rachel." Chris says, and I just shrug my shoulders. This obviously pleases him and brings a smile to his face. Dan, however, looks as if he wants to slap the living daylights out of me.

"I guess I'm just to forgiving." I say sassily with a smirk.
