I've been running all my life. Away from the horrid memories of the sacrifices my mother made to protect me, and to protect my name from this evil world we live in...
But everything's changed...
I've recently found out my mother was murdered by a psychopath; choosing the wrong pill in a game of chance that would give away her secret. That gave away my name.
That cost her her life...
I heard a man named Sherlock Holmes had solved my mother's case along with others who had fallen of the same fate. I must find him so I can warn him: for he does not know what he has gotten himself into...

30. Returns

I walk into the nicely familiar scene of 221B, only for the image to be blocked out by the noise upstairs form Sherlock's flat. I walk up the short flight of stairs and peak my head in to find Mr. Lestrade, John, and Sherlock chatting about something important (I mean, why else would Lestrade be here?). Lestrade turns to leave, but is stopped with a shocked reaction to the sight of my face. John and Sherlock also look over, and John's face is cover with surprise, but Sherlock's expression is yet to change. I can see the anger swell in John's hedgehog-resemblent face.

"Where the HELL were you?!" John says angrily as he starts to stride towards me.

"Well, I think I've overstayed my welcome." Lestrade says, and he shuts the door behind him.

"That will take a bit of explaining..."

"So...you're telling me you went with Delilah to see her brother, but it was a trap?"

"Yep; that about sums it up."

"Makes sense," Sherlock finally says after paying persistent attention to my story. "The name Delilah does mean 'she who weakened' in Hebrew. Perhaps she used her youthful charm to lure you into the trap."

"Well, what happened after you got shot and were blacked out?" John inquires.

"I woke up in a dark room, and there was a computer in front of me, not to mention Sebastian Moran poking at my head with his rifle." John and Sherlock's eyes widened. "Let me finish; on the computer screen there was some text, and I bet you can guess who it was from."

"Moriarty..." I hear Sherlock murmur under his breath. John just lets out a nervous chuckle.

"Really? You're joking right?" He looks towards Sherlock, then back at me. "He's joking, isn't he, Rachel? Isn't he?" I shake my head, and John collapses in his chair. I tell them what he said to me, and how I woke up near the forest with Julie, but I leave out the part where PJ finds us and the details about the party Chris invited me to tonight.

"So...what now?" I ask after I let Sherlock and John take all of it in.

"I don't know..." John says, running his hands through his hair. "First we find a camera in the flat, then we find out you had a confrontation with Moriarty...God, this case is getting more and more complex as it goes, isn't it Sherlock?" Sherlock just nods, his eyes only fixed on me. John then leaves to "get some fresh air", leaving me alone with Sherlock.

"Rachel..." Sherlock inquires after a long period of silence. "You can go to that party tonight." I look at him shocked, but then start to smile. I've been away from Baker Street so often that I forgot that Sherlock could tell an airline pilot just by his tie. I go over to give Sherlock a hug, and he hugs me back.

"You're getting better." I say with a wide grin as I go back to my flat to find something to wear for the party.

I walk over to the meeting place that PJ, Chris, Dan, Phil, Julie, & I have all agreed on, and we all head out in seperate cabs to a small house on the outskirts of town. I flatten out the skirt of my dark blue dress, and finger the even bluer rain drop charm on the necklace Sherlock gave me nervously. PJ takes my free hand, knowing that something's not right with me, but says nothing. I fix his bowtie, and we soon hear the thump of bass and the flash of strobe lights in the distance to see the destination of the party. We hop out of our cabs, and I see Julie running towards the house, dragging Dan along with her. I start laughing, and picks me up by surprise and dashes over to the exsquiste light spectical that was the party.

PJ practically kicks the door down and sets me down gently, yelling over the loud music that he wanted to introduce me to some of his friends. He drags me through the crowd and introduces me to a handsome young man by the name of Bertie, then to another two young men named Ryan and Miles, and finally to a young lady named Sophie. She was very pretty in her black lacy dress and bright red heels, and I wonder if PJ and her had a past...

"I hope you're treating him better than I did!" She yells over the deafening music, and that response confirms my suspicion, but I wasn't bothered by it. It didn't seem like thay hated eachother like ex's normally do, and they seemed to be good friends. I feel someone yank me away from PJ's grasp, and sure enough, it was Julie.

"How's it going with Dan?!" I yell as we start dancing.

"Great!" Julie yells back. "I kinda hope I get together with him in Seven Minutes In Heaven! You should play with us!" My heart skips a beat. I've only ever heard about Seven Minutes In Heaven, and I've heard sometimes things can get...physical, if you know what I mean...

"May I have this dance, milady?" I hear someone shout from behind me, and I turn to see Bertie, holding a hand out towards me. I look back to Julie, and she edges me on as she goes off to dance with Chris and Miles. I take his hand, and he drags me to the middle of the dance floor.

"So you're the Rachel everyone's been talking about?" He yells over the music, and I nod. "You're much prettier than I thought you would be!" I laugh out loud, and Bertie smiles.

"Bertie, right?" I say, and he nods. "Cool name!"

"Likewise!" He replies, and he takes my hand and spins me 'round. I spin him 'round too, and we both laugh, and in the distance I can see Julie weave her way through the crowd.

"Hey, Rachel! Bertie!" She yells as she dances her way to us. "Seven Minutes In Heaven is starting! Come on!" She then vanishes back into the crowd.

"Shall we?" Bertie says as he extends his arm out towards me. I nod and intertwine my arm with his, and we break through the dancing crowd that surrounded us. We finally get to Julie, who is holding a McDonald's paper bag, and as soon as she sees me, she drags me off to another room and closes the door behind us.

"Put something in the bag!" She whispers, as if people could overhear our conversation with the bass thumping like a beating heart. I quickly remove my necklace and slip it into the bag.

"I'll get it back, right?" I ask, and Julie nods. "Don't worry; just go to the bedroom upstairs when I tell people to go to their assigned rooms, and some lucky fellow will bring it to you..." With that set and out of the way, Julie leads me back out. I just take a seat on a couch placed nearby with Sofie, PJ, Dan, Phil, Chris, Bertie, and a few other people, and wait for the game to start.
