7. Chapter Seven

I arrived at the party alone after dad dropped me over. When I asked for permission to go earlier in the week my parents were so thrilled that I'd been invited to an occasion with friends they didn't even bother asking for details. It was an easy win where I didn't have to beg or even mention the alcohol that would be possibly involved.

I wore my new red beret, denim jeans and a plain top that basically read: keep away from me. I'm not looking for a night of business. Drake arrived only a minute later, saving me from an awful conversation with one of the high school jocks who was clearly drunk and on drugs already. I took my cola and followed Drake as he chauffeured me through the giant and sweaty crowd to a small corner where it was reasonably quiet. The next thing he did shocked me. He fiddled with a lock on an invisible door and pushed me inside a small room beneath one of the stair cases in Lilah's giant house. Dust flew around everywhere with the heavy footsteps of people climbing the stairs but Drake took no notice.

"How did you even know this was here?" I asked him, placing my cup on a small shelf and letting him pick me up and push me against the one clear wall in the small area. He hummed almost silently and looked deeply into my eyes.

"I know this house like the back of my hand."

That made me refocus my attention.  "Why is that?" I had to ask; it was probably a ridiculous thought, and we had such a close bond, but the possibility of cheating would always be there for me.  He's just so amazing, and I know that so many girls would do so much for him, and there are always the few that would pretend I'm not in the picture.  I just never thought it would be one of my closest friends.

He replied with a smile as he rested his hands on my hips.  "Awe, is little Sophie feeling a bit jealous?" he playfully whispered in my ear.  It made my senses tingle.

Drake continued to distract me by kissing along my neck.  It worked at first, until I was able to see through the haze of lust in my vision.  "Drake, I'm serious," I was eventually able to stammer out.  "How do you know your way around here so well?  I've never even been in here. and I'm one of Lilah's best friends."

His hands wrapped around my waist, pulling me against him.  "I think this jealous side of you is adorable," he commented.  "But, if you really must know, Lilah and I were friends when we were younger.  We would explore the house and play hide and seek and all the things that five-year-olds do."

"Oh," I relaxed a bit, my arms wrapping around his neck once more.  His easy-going smile returned and he picked me up as he brought his soft lips back down onto mine.

Let's just say that what happens next stays between Drake and me.  You can probably guess, but I think it's more personal if I keep all those intimate details to myself.  Let's just say it was a bit wild and magical and beautiful and unforgettable.  In short, one of the most amazing times of my life because he made me feel so special.  By the end, he was mine, and I was his, and that's all that mattered.
