Preston

"Hey, Pres!" Eric's voice snapped me out my daydream. I looked up. He gestured me over to him.

I got up, confused. We always sat at the same table in the cafeteria.

I walked over to him. "What's going on?" I asked.

Eric smiled slyly. "I think you know,"

"Preston!" Just then, Avery ran up to me. I laughed as she tackled me into a hug.

Eric coughed and I put her down. Avery blushed as he continued.

"If you two are quite done... I would like to make an announcement." He cleared his throat as he took to his dramatic structure.

"In behalf of the rest of my table, I think it is now time we change our seating arrangements, if you will allow us, that is."

He bowed down to Avery's best friend, Linda. She was a pretty girl- though not as beautiful as Avery-, with blond hair curled around her elbows and baby-blue eyes.

"Uh, Eric," I murmured into his ear as he straightened up. "I'm pretty sure she already has a boyfriend, and it was your idea to sit at the same table for the whole year."

Eric laughed. "You are funny, Preston," He patted my shoulder. "Yes it was my idea, but now this is my new idea. And I don't like her." He lowered his voice for the last part.

I groaned.

"I don't think he likes your ideas." Avery grinned and playfully punched my arm.

"I don't," I grumbled.

Eric got a teasing glint in his eye. "But if we change, you'll get to see Avery more." He smirked, knowing he'd reached my weak spot.

Linda rolled her eyes and snapped; "Yeah, sure, whatever. You can sit with us as long as you don't cause any trouble."

Avery smiled at me, and all that mattered to me at that point was the fact she would be with me.
