Wishing For More

Rose Weasley heads off to her first year at Hogwarts. She forms a unlikely relationship with first year hottie, Scorpius Malfoy. Her family keeps on saying it won't last but she won't believe them. As they get to know each other, she keeps hoping that it will turn into more than friendship.

4. Encounters

Albus headed off to his first class, Herbology. Hogwarts had this new system of splitting up houses for classes. This meant Rose might not have any classes with Scorpius.

"Rosie, what do you have first. I have transfiguration."

Rose looked down, she had the same!

"Me as well. I heard the headmistress teaches that class and she is strict but a good teacher."

Scorpius and Rose ran off because they didn't want to be lost. They reached the staircase. Rose looked down at her time table.

"So it is on the 4th floor, classroom 8."

Scorpius jumped onto a moving staircase and called for Rose to jump. It looked so far away the staircase. The little gap looked like a huge cayon to her. Rose leaped. She thought she would make it, her mental math sayed so. But she missed the staircase by the little bit. She was falling down, down into the depths but Scorpius grabbed her hand quickly. As their hands touched, Rose felt a spark go through her body. They just stared at each other for a while, Rose hanging just holding on to Scorpius's hand. Then the spell broke when the staircase jolted to a stop at the 4th floor, Rose still hanging off the side. Scorpius pulled her up and the moment was gone. They set off running to make it on time, but they were probbaly going to be late. Rose could still feel the magic of the moment but she didn't say anything about it and put it out of her mind.

Classroom was at the other end of where they were. They were almost there when they were stopped by Peeves.

"Ickley little first years, late for class," he cackled maliciously.

"We would have made it on time, if you hadn't stopped us." They were so near to the classroom, if only they could get past Peeves. Scorpius whispered in her ear "Lets, run for it."

Peeves started throwing wadded up pieces of paper at them.

They ran past Peeves and into Transfiguration. They burst through the door and found the entire class looking at them. They saw a cat on the desk. But no McGonagall.

"Phew, we made it before McGonagall got her." Scorpius breathed a sigh of relive.

But at that moment, the cat transformed into McGonagall. They almost fell over in surprise.

"Glad you were able to join us Ms. Weasley and Mr. Malfoy. Kindly take your seats" McGonagall said sarcastically.

Rose and Scorpius sat down at a table quickly. The table was also occupied with a friendly Hufflepuff girl. McGonagall set them to work to make a toothpick into a needle. Scorpius was having trouble as well as the girl from Hufflepuff whose name was Carrie. By the end of the lesson, Rose and another boy who was in Ravenclaw had figured out to change their toothpicks, into needles. Everyone else, hadn't been able to change theirs completely.

"Good job, Ms. Weasley and Mr. Michaels. Ten points apiece to your respected houses." McGogall gave them one of her rare smiles.

"Everyone else, you will need to work on your spells as homework."

Rose gathered up her things and headed to her next class. She turned to Scorpius.

"Do you have Flying Lessons next?"

"No, see you later." Rose was sad to see him go.

She arrived at the Quidditch pitch for the lesson when she saw Al. Rose ran up to Al.

"Hey Al, how was Herbology?" She was happy to have a class with her cousin.

"Very interesting. I learned a lot. Oh, by the way I thought of a useful fact about James that might help us."

"He is a heavy sleeper." Al smiled mischievously.

Rose was about to respond when the Professor walked on to the field. All conversation stopped at once.

The Professor was young. She had long dark hair that shined in the sun.

"Hello, my name is Madam Flyworth. I will be teaching you the wonders of flying. So everyone grab a broom from the cupbord over there."

There was a scurry as everyone tried to grab a broom.

"Okay, now you must say Up with power."

Rose tried to say'Up' but nothing happened. All around she could hear 'Ups'.

Then she heard Madam Flyworth say "Well done Ms. Melling. Look everyone, Ms. Melling has a natural talent for flying."

Rose looked and saw Bonnie, the girl who seemed to be the leader of the zombie girls. The lesson went on, Madam Flyworth giving Bonnie praise for her flying.

Finally, the lesson was over and Rose headed off to lunch with Al. They needed to discuss the pranks they had in mind with Scorpius.
