The Plan

So I started out writing my first fanfiction about Niall, then realized I really didn't like where the story was going. So I am writing a second one now, with my best friend (who isn't a 1D fan, but she is a great writer). Sorry if I get this published and don't update, because this summer I have summer assignments and we are just going to be busy a lot. Hope you enjoy!
Story: Harry was 1/5 of the hottest boyband in the world, and Mackynzie was a girl from a small town in South Carolina in the USA. She wants to travel to London while attending college to study midwifery and business management abroad, but as she is only still making her way through high school, that seems forever out of her reach. Soon after thinking her plans are 100%, she finds that maybe one boy can change all of this......

4. Fearless

So this chapter will be longer, because I feel like the others are really short so far and I want to put a lot of action-y stuff in it. I think in the last chapter I didn't really give Harry and Mackynzie a proper greeting scene, but I do believe that I did put in where they learn her name. If I didn't though, lets imply I did.... Maybe I will go back and edit it if I didn't. Anyway.... here we gooooooo...

*I changed the ending of chapter 3 so go back and read the last little section!!!*

I was rushed into a changing room where they had magically come up with a whit lace dress that fit me just right. It was just above my knees, and I had brown cow-girl boots to go with it. They then put my hair in a Katniss style braid, and added some light make up touches. I took a deep breath, as I heard the boys finish up the song they were singing to give me time to prepare. I had done vocal warm ups while getting ready, running up and down scales and over some parts of the song. Then Harry came down the small hallway they had me waiting in just off the stage.

"You ready?" He asked quickly, his voice deeper than it was before. I nodded my head, knowing my voice wouldn't work right now. I was having to take deep breaths in and out to even keep myself standing here, waiting for my cue. I knew that the Haylor drama might have the fans a little upset by my song choice, but I liked Taylor. She seemed sweet, and we all make mistakes sometimes. Why can't people just forgive her for this? I bet there have been girls who are ten times worse out there, but since they aren't famous they don't get the heat for it.

"Alright, so we all know about the thing that went down with the Twitter questions earlier, but this girl is coming out to sing, on invitation from us, and you guys have a part in it." As soon as Liam finished this sentence the crowd went wild, then he continued once they settled down again. "You guys are going to vote for if you liked her singing, and then we are making a decision on that. Would you like to know what she is singing?" The crowd cheered again to signal an agreement. "Okay then. Here is Mackynzie Williams with 'Fearless' by Taylor Swift!" There was a lot of cheering, and some booing, as Harry took my hand to pull me out on stage. I felt the tug on my arm but couldn't move an inch.

"I can't do this. I really can't do this" I knew my eyes were wide and I was probably as white as a sheet.

"You're going to be fine. Ignore any boos, they will love you." I took a deep breath in again, focusing on Harry's bright green eyes. When mine met his, I could tell he had been looking at me the entire time. Butterflies stirred in my stomach, but they were good butterflies. Happy, excited ones. I felt the involuntary smile creep over my face, and I nodded, knowing again I couldn't trust my voice. We began to move onto the brightly lit stage, and I couldn't even see most of the crowd due to the spot lights that found us while we moved. I was soon out at center stage, with a mic stand in front of me and a guitar being put into my hands.

I positioned the strap just right around my shoulders, Harry standing next to me the entire time. We hooked it up with a cord, and I stepped back up to the mic. I looked back, to see Harry standing right behind me. He nodded his head to tell me to go ahead. I looked back out at the cheering crowd, and I was surprised at the sudden confidence that flowed through me.

"Hi." I said into the mic, making everyone jump up and down screaming again. I laughed a little, looking behind me again. The boys were laughing, including Harry. "I'm Mackynzie. I spell my name with a 'y' by the way. I know most of you may not like the artist who sings the song I normally sing, but I like this song. The birthday last card I got from my grandmother, before she passed away, had a quote from Taylor talking about fearlessness, and then it sang the song when you opened it up. So, I really like this song. I guess, here it goes then." I stepped back from the mic, and started strumming the guitar. The rest of the band soon joined in, and I began to sing. (

The song started out slow, and my singing was a little timid, but got louder and more confident as the song progressed. Harry moved out to the side of my a little more, and I looked over at him as I continued to sing the song. I kept strumming and changing my view from the crowd to Harry and back. I was tapping my foot a long to the beat now, my heart pumping a little faster. About halfway through (when the band solos begin) I was moving my whole body while tapping my foot. I would smile while singing, feeling the excitement and side affects the beat was having on me. The crowd was going nuts over my song, and when the song slowed down, I stopped strumming and the band stopped playing to allow my voice to be the only musical sound drifting through the stadium. The crowd was clapping along with what the beat was, and I was almost crying out of happiness. As the song sped up again and the band joined back in, progressing towards the end I had the guitar slung down my back and the microphone in my hand (still attached to the stand). The song came to an end all too soon, and I was breathing heavily. The crowd was on their feet, cheering and screaming. I laughed a little, and Harry came over to put his arm around my shoulders. I couldn't stop looking out at all the faces in the crowd.

"Wooooowww!!!! That was amazing!!!!" Niall spoke into his mic. All the boys came over to where I still stood, giving my hugs and congrats. Louis gave me a high five, and then Liam announced it was voting time.

"Okay, so right now, if you didn't like Mackynzie's wonderful performance, you need to scream as loud as you can so we can get a good read on how you guys felt." We waited for a moment, but there wasn't much screaming at all, which was a good sign. I felt Harry's grip tighten slightly as he leaned his mouth down close to my ear to tell me 'I told you so'. "Now, if you loved her performance, I need you to scream as loud as you can!!!!!!" The crowd became louder than at any other point tonight. They didn't stop screaming for so long that all the boys had to try for a while to get them to stop. I was almost crying again, and could hardly breathe I was so excited.

"Well Mackynzie, is there anything you would like to say?" I held the mic I had used for the performance up to my lips to speak to the massive crowd in front of me

"I don't know what else to say but thank y'all! This is so amazing and is the biggest rush, and I love how you guys just jumped to support me even though you heard my name for the first time a few minutes ago. That is amazing, and you guys are just so wonderful!"

"How about an encore, Mackynzie? Would you guys like that?" Louis prompted an answer from the crowd. I was surprised most of them hadn't lost their voices yet.

"Okay then. I think that was unanimous. Mackynzie, what song do you want to sing?" Harry asked

"Hmmmmm...." I was getting more comfortable up on the stage now. " How about..... Blown Away by Carrie Underwood....." I looked back at the band who thought about it for a second, then gave me the thumbs up. I looked at the boys, and smiled. Harry gave me a thumbs up, and I gave the signal to the band to start playing. I walked over to the side of the stage, close to the edge with my microphone in hand. The girls over here went wild, and I reached down to give some of them high fives and sorta say hi. It was like I was an instant celebrity, and some of the girls were snapping pictures, so I posed a little while the music was cuing up. When the opening began playing, I started tapping my foot to the beat, mentally preparing my self to hit the opening just right.

Blown Away by Carrie Underwood

Dry lightning cracks across the skies
Those storm clouds gather in a rise
Daddy was a mean old mister
Momma was an angel in the ground
The weatherman called for a twister
She prayed blow it down

There's not enough rain in Oaklahoma
To wash the sins out of that house
There's not enough wind in Oaklahoma
To rip the nails out of the past

Shatter every window till it's all blown awaaaayyyy
Every brick, every board, every slammin door, blown awaaaayyy
Till there's nothing left standing, nothing left of yesterdaaaaay
Every tear soaked, whiskey memory blown awaaayyyy
Blow-oh-n away

She heard those sirens screaming out
Her daddy laid there passed out on the couch
She locked herself in the cealler
listened to the screamin of the wind
Some people call it takin shelter
She called it sweet revenge

I took a deep breath, the whole time I'm moving across the stage, interacting with the fans and having a great time. Niall had taken to the drums while Harry had picked up a guitar. I moved over to them and some of the band too, acting like this was just a regular old performance for me now.

Shatter every window till it's all blown awaaaayyy
Every brick, every board, every slammin door, blown awaaaayyy
Till there's nothing left standing, nothing left of yesterdaaaaay
Every tear soaked, whiskey memory blown awaaayyyy
Blown awaaaaayyyyy

I was walking down the narrow catwalk that came out at center stage. I was staring straight ahead as I spoke/sang the next verse. It was an exhilarating song, and I was lost in the music now. I had no idea what was going on around me, or that I could see my mom up at the spot we always stand. Just that I was singing, and everyone seemed to love it even though I wasn't the one they paid and came to see.

There's not enough rain in Oaklahoma
To wash the sins out of that house
There's not enough wind in Oaklahoma
To rip the nails out of the past

Shatter every window till it's all blown awaaaayyy
Every brick, every board, every slammin door, blown awaaaayyy
Till there's nothing left standing, nothing left of yesterdaaaaay
Every tear soaked, whiskey memory blown awaaayyyy
Blown awwaayyy-ah-wayyyy-ah-ayyyy
Yeahhh blown awaaayyy-ah-wayy
Blown awaaayyy-ayyyy-yy
Blown away.

The girls in front of me were going crazy. I smiled down at them, and waved. I bent down and gave high fives, a few hugs, and even said thank you to them. I was smiling as I stood up again, and waved to the whole stadium. I felt someone come up behind me, and heard Harry's voice in my ear.

"That was amazing. Plus, Simon said if you want to, you can travel with us for the rest of the tour and he will sign you to a record deal as fast as he can get it typed up, faxed and returned." I smiled

"That sounds wonderful." I replied. Harry had wrapped is hands around my waist now, and all the girls were going nuts again. I laughed, and so did Harry. "This is going to be great"

Okay, so I don't know about y'all, but I liked that chapter. I don't know if you guys liked the song part where I typed the lyrics instead of posting a link, I like either one. But this was a fun chapter, and longer. They will start to get longer, so I may not post them really quickly, but there will be more each chapter. One of my friends saw the screen shot I put on personal Facebook account too, and she loved it (I used her name for the main character, but she spells it differently) so shout out to her and my other friends who are reading this!!!
