Me, an angel? Yeah right!

'I’m surrounded by white fluffy clouds, and I have wings! That’s right I’m a freaking angel.'
Jade is dead, she doesn't know how, she doesn't know why. All she does know is that she's an angel. With no memory of her life and just the mysterious Kye to guide her, she must discover what happened to her, whilst trying to be a good angel of course.

12. Miles

“This isn’t supposed to be about me,” Kye whispered slowly. “We’re following your life,”
“Actually,” I glanced at the kitty clock on the wall. “It’s getting late, I didn’t realise how long we were... talking. Can we go back... up there?” Kye nodded slightly, taking my hand.

I woke once more in the king sized bed, covered in the heavy feather down duvet. “Finally awake are we?” Kye smiled at me, all traces of last night’s horrific memories gone from his face, as if it hadn’t happened. He tossed me an orange and I peeled it greedily, hurriedly shoving a segment into my mouth. He was carefully avoiding my gaze, studying his nails like they were the most interesting thing he had ever seen. He was obviously hoping I wasn’t going to mention anything about yesterday. “So um...” I started, as I swallowed a chunk of orange. “What time is it? Did I wake up in time to go and see Mara before school?” He shook his head slowly, meeting my gaze for the first time since yesterday.
“They left for school about an hour ago, if we leave in an hour or so, we can roam around and maybe see your friends before she’s out?” I nodded quickly, unable to speak as I popped another piece into my mouth. It exploded in my mouth as my teeth punctured the skin; it’s sharp but sweet juice flowing over my tongue. I licked my lips carefully, savouring the last of it.

Jumping out of bed I stretched my body, almost falling over in the process, which of course set Kye off in a laughing fit. “Ruuuuuuuuude!” I shoved him lightly and to my surprise he fell over, bouncing slightly on the soft bed of clouds.
“Now who’s rude?” He shot back playfully. He stuck out a hand for me to help him up, with a grin I turned away, nose in the air. I looked down at my clothes; I was still wearing the shorts and t-shirt from yesterday, the purple hoodie was on the floor next to Kye. With a pop they changed to high-waisted shorts and a plain red shirt.

“Where do you wanna go today?” Kye asked, finally standing up.
“There’s something near my primary that I want to check out, I can’t remember what but it seems important.” He laughed out how vague I was being and took my hand. Once again the pinching and tingling filled my body it soon died away, we were standing outside the school gates. “Where to?” Kye questioned, looking around. I shrugged but didn’t answer, quickly looking around before setting off down a side path. Kye hurried after me, quickly taking my hand once he caught up. “Before you ask,” I started. “I have no idea where we’re going...” He just laughed at me and flicked his fringe out of his eyes.

We soon emerged from the path, our shelter of trees disappearing, to be replaced by blue skies and red brick houses. “Um, Jade? Where are we?”
“Miles’ house,” I breathed. Hope filling my heart.
“Who’s Miles?” Kye asked, a slight edge to his voice
“My boyfriend...”
